For a while now people have been wondering what became of the Bo Burnham-penned, Judd Apatow-produced script dubbed the "anti-'High School Musical.'" So, the question is: When will we see it on the big screen... if ever? MTV News went to the source (no, not Apatow) to find out.

"We've been writing it for a couple years. I don't know if it'll be made or anything," said Burnham, a 20-year-old stand-up comic/musician who is known for his satirical songs and popular You Tube videos (and who has his very own Comedy Central special, "Words, Words, Words," airing Saturday). "It's just an R-rated 'High School Musical.' It's not a spoof. People would obviously make that comparison because it's going to be a musical in high school, but we were thinking that idea of a high school musical is incredible. It's a great idea, and it's not like we're spoofing that one." Read more...

Kristen Stewart in Welcome to the RileysIt's a tale as old as time. A distraught man fighting to keep his marriage together after the death of his child runs away to New Orleans, meets a stripper and begins treating her like the daughter he lost. And from there, emotions run high.

In the newly released international trailer for the Kristen Stewart drama "Welcome to the Rileys" -- which also stars James Gandolfini as the aforementioned distraught man, Doug Riley, and Melissa Leo as his equally struggling wife -- fans get a taste of the drama that unfolds when lost souls try to connect emotionally. The trailer does prove two things: When she's not working with a "Twilight" script, Stewart has some keen acting skills... and she's also not afraid to bare a little skin when the material calls for it (she does play a stripper, after all). Rachel NicholsThe pictures we've seen of "Conan" so far seem to prove beyond a doubt that the reboot starring Jason Momoa has the potential for greatness, and that Momoa definitely has the look to step into Arnold Schwarzenegger's sandals as the epic barbarian. New images that have hit the net courtesy of Bleeding Cool give us our first glimpse the film's leading ladies, Rose McGowan and Rachel Nichols, as well as a look at some of the action set pieces. [Check out the photos on Bleeding Cool.]

McGowan, who plays half-human, half-witch Marique, definitely looks unlike we've seen her before. The images are a bit too tiny to clearly make out the details, but in one pic McGowan can be seen lying on a bed with her red-and-black hair pulled tightly back. There's a better shot of her from behind, which shows her leading soldiers into a ruined city. Read more...

Tom Cruise in Top GunIf you suddenly, inexplicably feel the need for speed, the urge to belt out "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" in a bar... or the strange inkling to play beach volleyball in jeans, there's a reason: Paramount Pictures officially wants to reunite Tom Cruise, director Tony Scott and producer Jerry Bruckheimer for "Top Gun 2."

Vulture has learned that Paramount has already extended offers to Scott and Bruckheimer to start turning and burning on a sequel to the 1986 classic, and the studio has Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects") in its sights to pen the script. Cruise, meanwhile, is said to have agreed to return as hotshot naval aviator Maverick in a small role, provide it's not too "obvious" -- e.g. Mav playing a version of Tom Skerrit's battle-hardened instructor from the original. David O. Russell's commitment to direct "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" looks to be a blessing for Neil Patrick Harris: The "How I Met Your Mother" and "Harold and Kumar" star will make his feature directorial debut when he takes over the reins from Russell on the romantic comedy "Aaron and Sarah," starring Josh Hutcherson and Emma Roberts.

The film, originally titled "B.F.F.," according to a report at The Hollywood Reporter, follows the evolving relationship of the two title characters, a geek and a popular girl, who meet during their freshman year of high school and go through various proms and a funeral together.

NPH has a busy year ahead of himself, with a "A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas," "The Smurfs" and a modern take on "Beauty & the Beast" with Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens called "Beastly" all due out in 2011. Rhys InfansFROM SPLASH PAGE: Rhys Ifans was announced as playing the villain in director Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" just days ago, with the identity of his character unknown at the time. But this is the Internet, people — news travels fast.

According to The Wrap, Ifans will slither his way into the scales of The Lizard, the friendly neighborhood wallcrawler's science teacher turned reptilian nemesis. In signing on as Dr. Curt Connors, Ifans joins a growing cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.

The Lizard has yet to be featured in a live-action "Spider-Man" movie, though this isn't the first time Curt Connors has appeared on the big screen. The tragic scientist was previously played by Dylan Baker in all three movies of the Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire trilogy, with some reports suggesting that Baker would finally get his due as a villain in "Spider-Man 4." That movie never came to pass, but it appears that The Lizard is getting a chance nonetheless. Read more...

When "Lost Boys: The Tribe," the sequel to Joel Schumacher's 1987 vampire cult hit "Lost Boys," didn't get its planned theatrical release back in 2008, it seemed like a stake had been driven directly into the heart of the potential franchise. But thanks to fans' unquenchable thirst for "The Tribe" on DVD, Corey Feldman is once again sporting his signature red headband as Edgar Frog, vampire hunter extraordinaire, in the appropriately titled "Lost Boys: The Thirst," now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

With his pal Sam (Corey Haim) dead and his brother Alan (Jamison Newlander) turned half vampire, a down-but-not-out Edgar joins forces with a new crop of hunters to take down the evil DJX, who's been building a bloodsucking army by dosing people with vampire blood at raves. But enough about the plot. You want to see the clips. The first is a nice little treat in which Edgar crosses swords and trades barbs with a scantily clad vamp named Lily, while the second features Corey Feldman interviewing... well, Corey Feldman. Check 'em out below.

Do these clips make you want to see "Lost Boys: The Thirst"? And do you think the franchise will enjoy a long, bloodsucking life in the straight-to-DVD market? Tell us in the comments!
