Whether you know it or not, filmmaker Paul WS Anderson is working on a 3D telling of "The Three Musketeers." It's got a pretty wacky cast, one that features Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Ray Stevenson, Matthew Macfadyen, Luke Evans, Juno Temple, James Corden... and Mads Mikkelsen. You'll remember him from the Bond reboot flick "Casino Royale" as the villainous, bloody-teared Le Chiffre.

He's not playing such a nice guy in "The Three Musketeers" either: Rochefort, one of the main antagonists. ComingSoon.net has some great set photos of him, as well as of Anderson and Lerman. While the Rochefort of the original Alexandre Dumas novel had both of his eyes, Christopher Lee appeared as the character in a 1973 adaptation (and two sequels) with an eyepatch. Subsequent visions of Rochefort have often featured him in an eyepatch as well, up to and including Mikkelsen. Check out the full image after the jump and head over to ComingSoon for more, including shots of Lerman and Anderson. Read More...

The "Machete" crew was active last night, both on and off of Twitter. Michelle Rodriguez shared a photo from a low rider she hitched a ride in, and director Robert Rodriguez was just happy to see people showed up.

Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, Richard Kelly critiqued the current season of "Jersey Shore," Ice-T gave a thank you shout out to Drake, and Seth MacFarlane shared his hopes for Glenn Beck. Find out who you agree with after the jump, as well as what James Gunn plans on wearing to his "Super" premiere.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for August 26, 2010. Read More...

I hope you all have been enjoying this week of coverage around "The Last Exorcism." I've got a lot of love for this movie. It's a really unconventional horror experience, largely because it's so very much not a genre film. It is a genuinely creepy watch, skipping overt gore and a focus on jump scares in favor of ambiance, strong performances and expert cinematography/editing. Don't look for reviews-- just go. The less you know going in, the more you'll appreciate what you see.

To cap off this week-long focus on the film, we've got a pair of treats tomorrow. Producer Eli Roth will be sending in his second guest blog for your reading enjoyment. In his first post, Eli shared the details of his experience producing the movie, as well as discussing why the guy behind gore-heavy works like "Hostel" and "Cabin Fever" would get behind this seeming polar opposite to his previous work. Then, director Daniel Stamm today shared some illuminating anecdotes from the set.

The second treat for tomorrow is a live chat with @eliroth on Twitter. We'll be hitting him with a battery of questions about the movie -- and who knows what else? -- and you should make sure to tune in at 11:30am eastern to watch it all go down. There's still time to submit questions too! Send 'em on over to us at tips@mtvmoviesblog.com.

Rock on, Jeremy Renner. You crushed it last year in "The Hurt Locker," so much so that you nabbed a Best Actor Oscar nomination. Then it was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that he'd play Clint Barton/Hawkeye in Joss Whedon's upcoming "Avengers" movie. Now Renner is set to join one of the biggest franchises on the planet: "Mission: Impossible."

The word from Deadline is that he'll star opposite Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible IV," which is being directed by Pixar vet Brad Bird, his first live-action feature. Renner is a great choice as a potential future torchbearer, should Cruise end his tenure as IMF agent Ethan Hunt. I also still think (hope?) that this fourth movie will end up framing Hunt as the villain (as opposed to someone who's been framed to hide the one true villain), though Deadline states that he is "expected to return for a fifth installment." Still, the Renner casting is pretty badass.

Our week-long focus on "The Last Exorcism" continues today with another guest blog, this time from director Daniel Stamm. As we learned from producer Eli Roth in yesterday's post, he took a very hands-off approach during the production, the better to give Stamm the breathing room to really put his flavor on the film. The result is quite powerful, as you'll see when the movie opens tomorrow. Make sure you come back tomorrow as well, for Eli's second guest blog as well as his Twitterview, which is happening at 11:30am eastern.

In film school they teach you the importance of vision and preparation. Certainly good things to pack when making a film. They are heavy things to carry around, though, and they can make it hard to move. What making "The Last Exorcism" taught me was to readily abandon it all if necessary and go with what feels right in the moment. Read More...

I hate "TRON: Legacy." Not the movie itself, mind you-- it looks freaking AWESOME. No, I hate the amount of time left between now and the long-awaited Disney sequel's December 17 release. Anticipation has been running high ever since the very first announcement. But it jacked up to unmanageable levels in late-July, when the San Diego Comic-Con trailer dished out a massive helping of kickass.

At least there's been a steady flow of promo material since then. Stills. Posters. An iDevice app. Samplings of the Daft Punk soundtrack. Toys upon toys revealed. Tons of stuff. Now there's a new poster. Revealing a new character no less! A Hungarian poster surfaced on Kinopoisk.ru (via /Film) featuring Beau Garrett's character Jem, one of the movie's four Sirens-- characters charged with overseeing the Grid Game armory. Check out the full image after the jump. Read More...

A few weeks ago, a story surfaced revealing a Jerry Weintraub pitch for a remake of the classic George Burns/John Denver-starring comedy "Oh, God!" Betty White was envisioned for the Burns role and Paul Rudd for the Denver part. Even if you're burnt out on this whole remake blitzkrieg that's been going on, it's an interesting thought. But has it progressed further than that? We asked Rudd recently on the set of "My Idiot Brother."

"No, no. I had heard that online," he said. "Somebody asked me that question and I said, 'What are you talking about? I've never even heard of this.' And then I got an e-mail with a link to the story." Read More...

Peter Jackson says that an announcement is coming "sometime soon" regarding "The Hobbit," the "Lord of the Rings" prequel that has been delayed and beleaguered by the financial troubles of MGM. When Guillermo Del Toro removed himself from the project, most fans got it in their minds that Jackson would return to Middle-Earth in his rightful director's throne. As of now, nothing has been confirmed, but there's at least one "Lord of the Rings" star hoping that Jackson steps behind the lens on "The Hobbit" — Dominic Monaghan.

"I can't really imagine anyone other than Pete directing 'The Hobbit,'" Monaghan told MTV News, adding that the filmmaker's extensive work in creating the world of Middle-Earth would make it virtually impossible for another director to step into Jackson's shoes. Read More...

Let me set the scene: four of the stars of "You Again" gather to do some press. Betty White, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman and Kristen Bell. Things are going fine enough until Bell decides to go off on a long-winded explanation of character motivations and... snore. Her co-stars feel the same way, and they tell her so.

Let me tell you something-- you do not want to be on the receiving end of a Betty White/Sigourney Weaver tag team assault. You also do not want to disrespect Weaver, or mention "Avatar" in her presence. Thanks Funny or Die. I'll never get tired of seeing the White take people down a peg.

From John C. Reilly and Steve Carell to Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, MTV News has been pushing the proverbial envelope lately (and perhaps standards of good taste) with our "After Hours" series.

Up next for us? From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan, the latest entry in the M. Night Chronicles, "Escalation." And we've got your exclusive first look at the trailer!

"Devil," the first of the Chronicles, hits theaters on September 17. Being trapped in an elevator with a bunch of people -- one of whom may or may not be possessed by a demon of some sort -- is plenty scary. Now imagine being stuck on an escalator with a Penthouse pet, M. Night and a bunch of knives...watch below to see what we're talking about.
