"The Other Guys" marks Adam McKay and Will Ferrell's fourth big screen collaboration, but despite their efforts, the duo hasn't been able to gift Earth with a sequel to any of their comedies. For the sad tale of the demise of "Anchorman 2," reach for the tissues and click here.

But! Wipe those tears away, because as depressing as it is to say goodbye to more legend-making adventures with Ron Burgundy, McKay told MTV News late last week that he and Ferrell are indeed planning on a sequel: either to 2008's "Step Brothers" or "Other Guys." He also dropped some hints about a mysterious project that would reunite Ferrell with John C. Reilly, his "Step Brothers" co-star. Read on for the details... Read More...

"Takers" hits theaters on August 27 with an all-star cast to back it up. Zoe Saldana, T.I., Idris Elba, Chris Brown, Paul Walker, Matt Dillon, Hayden Christensen... just a whole mess of people whose names you know. In the below clip you can see Brown on the run, fleeing from the cops, one of whom is definitely Matt Dillon. I didn't know Brown dabbled in parkour...

Do you hear that sound? It's a million fanpeople crying out for joy at the fact that Disney has revealed the official release dates for a pair of particularly long-awaited projects. First we've got "John Carter of Mars," adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic sci-fi series. This is something that has been percolating since the '30s if you can believe it, when Disney approached the then-living author with the idea of producing an animated film based on his book.

That obviously didn't pan out; a number have attempts have been made since then, but it's finally happening. "Carter" just wrapped and is now set for a June 8, 2012 release. The movie was directed by Andrew Stanton with a screenplay from Michael Chabon; Taylor Kitsch has the title role.

Also confirmed is Tim Burton's long-awaited "Frankenweenie," which is based on a comedy horror short that the filmmaker made during his college days. The original story follows a man who brings his dead dog back to life, presumably with no help from Fred Gwynne. A March 9, 2012 release is nailed down for that one.

A few weeks ago our friends over at UGO debuted a really slick new motion poster for "Saw 3D." We've got an awesome new one for you today, another rotating image that is better seen than described. Like the headline above suggests, "heart-pounding" is quite literally the order of the day.

The seventh and reportedly final chapter in the series will reunite a number of Jigsaw's previous victims as they face a gauntlet of new challenges from the sadistic genius. Even Cary Elwes is coming back! Expect to be terrified as the series' trademark death traps spring off of the screen and into your face in full 3-D. "Saw 3D" also brings back the "Saw VI" team-up of director Kevin Greutert and writers Marcus Dunstan & Patrick Melton. It is set to hit theaters on October 29. Hit the jump to see the motion poster goods. Read More...

"Lost" and Weezer supporters may not have been the most natural bed fellows in the past, but the two sets of fans certainly have something in common now — "Hurley," Weezer's upcoming album. With a picture of actor Jorge Garcia's face plastered on the album cover, the new Weezer album has nothing to do with "Lost" other than the name and likeness of the unlucky lottery winner.

As both a music lover and a big "Lost" fan — yes, still — I started thinking about some other musicians who could find inspiration in the "Lost" mythology for their next album. After the jump, check out some suggestions for "Lost"-inspired albums! Read More...

Last we heard, production was delayed on George Miller's upcoming "Mad Max" flick, "Fury Road." The sort-of reboot/sort-of sequel stars Tom Hardy as the titular badass. He's joined by a growing cast that already includes Zoe Kravitz, Teresa Palmer, Adelaide Clemens, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Riley Keough is in talks to join the cast as one of the Five Wives, a group of women (Kravitz, Palmer and Clemens being three of them) whom Hardy's Max must protect. Keough, who debuted last year playing Marie Currie in the Kristen Stewart/Dakota Fanning-starring Runaways biopic "The Runaways," also happens to be the granddaughter of Elvis Presley.

It's great to see the cast filling out. THR also reports that production should get going again "early next year." So good news all around for fans of dystopian future-worlds.

In what is perhaps the most bizarre news twist of the week, JetBlue flight attendant Stephen Slater left work yesterday in grand fashion. After being harassed by an unruly passenger, Slater got on the plane's public address system, spewed some profanity of his own and disembarked via the aircraft's emergency slide after reportedly grabbing some beer from the galley. Slater was of course arrested for his actions, but as anyone who has worked in a service position knows, this was a downright heroic move. Curious what could have compelled him to cross over from thinking about no long suffering fools to making the conscious choice to stop suffering fools, we took a look at Slater's in-flight movies playlist*. And based on his viewing habits... well... it's no wonder he did what most of us will only ever fantasize doing. Find the picks after the jump.

* - No, we didn't ACTUALLY see his in-flight movie playlist. This is all a joke. Read More...

Good morning, everyone. I'm here with an important message from Will Ferrell, star of "The Other Guys" and the new spokesperson for New York's Finest. In the below video he expresses the importance of joining up to Serve and Protect. It's a valuable public service, so long as you're brave enough to face the worst the city can throw at you day in, day out. Just beware kiddies-- while the language isn't gratuitous, a couple of F-bombs put this squarely in the Not Safe For Work territory.

The word of the day is...

WEIRD

There's nothing inherently bizarre about today's Daily TwitPic, posted after the jump. It's the joining of two random personalities like Pee-Wee Herman and Lorenzo Lamas that boggles the mind. The duo partied together at the 70th Anniversary Sturgis Rally. Here they are the morning after, looking surprisingly perky and ready for a day of motorcycle races.

Weird. (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!) Read More...
