Are you wondering what's been going on with "The Hobbit" ever since Guillermo del Toro removed himself from the director role to focus on other (admittedly awesome) projects? I am too. And it seems we'll all be finding out soon.
"Lord of the Rings" trilogy architect Peter Jackson, speaking to New Zealand outlet The Dominion Post (via blastr), said that Warner Bros is "making progress untangling the MGM situation, so we should have certainty with 'The Hobbit' sometime soon." There's little more revealed than that -- remember, Jackson is still weighing whether he can/will direct or if they'll get someone else to replace del Toro -- but a promise from the one true ring-bearer that news is coming "soon" certainly fills this fan with hope.
