If the market tanks today, you know who's to blame. All work at the New York Stock Exchange ground to a halt early this morning as Sylvester Stallone and his "Expendables" co-stars invaded Wall Street's hallowed ground.
They came to celebrate their #1 movie and to ring the exchange's opening bell, but what Sly, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews really accomplished was distracting traders and analysts from doing their jobs. Given the sorry state of our nation's economy, these number-crunchers were probably thankful for the diversion.
For his part, Stallone confessed that he was hoping to for a bit of financial advice. "We went to the bank, they turned down our credit," Stallone joked with MTV News. "So we thought we'd go to the source. That's why we're here. Not to promote a movie. It's to get a house loan."
