Lindsay Lohan has certainly seen better days, currently making headlines for her legal woes that have led her to a three month prison sentence. But despite what you may be reading about her these days, Lohan's reputation isn't soured in everybody's book — certainly not amongst the "Machete" cast and crew.

"She was awesome," co-director Robert Rodriguez told MTV News of Lohan's behavior on the "Machete" set. "She was really fun to work with, and we just recorded her dialogue a few days back." Read More...

The trailer for "Sucker Punch" that premiered at San Diego Comic-Con and which is now online at Apple.com is, in a word, f--king awesome. That's two words. One isn't enough to contain the visual splendor on display in our first in-motion look at Zack Snyder's latest effort, also his first wholly original work.

It's not a complaint really, but one of the running themes in people's reactions to the trailer's content is "WTF?" More specifically, no one's really sure what is going on. We already know that the movie follows a young woman who is committed to a mental institution. To deal with the harsh reality of her situation, she escapes into a fantasy world that's all in her mind.

Or something like that. It's still not terribly clear, and the trailer isn't answering any lingering questions. But it is a full-on information overload, with so much coming at you that even multiple views won't allow you to catch it all. You really need the magic of a computer and Quicktime, so you can cycle through the action second-by-second. I've picked out a selection of trailer moments that bear further consideration, all of which you'll find after the jump. Read More...

UPDATE: Bonnie tells us in the comments below that the artist's name is Tyler Edlin, and his work can be found here. Learn the unusual origin of this image in his interview with Bonnie on the Star Wars Blog.

The Internet frequently leaves me speechless. Today is one of those days. I've got no idea who made this image, and if anyone does I'd appreciate the info. But StarWars.com editor/writer Bonnie Burton -- Twitter's @BonnieGrrl tweeted an amazing (and amazingly bizarre) piece of "Star Wars" fan art this morning...

If anyone's got any further info on this pic, I'd love to share it here. Most importantly... what the hell planet is that on, where giant squirrels, Nazis and Wookiees all co-exist?

Believe it or not, "Beverly Hills, 90210" fans, but your prayers have been answered — Jason Priestley and Luke Perry are reuniting for an all-new project.

The erstwhile Brandon Walsh and Dylan McKay are collaborating on "Goodnight For Justice," a Hallmark Movie Channel film produced by Perry and directed by Priestley. Deadline reports that "Goodnight" is a Western starring Perry as John Goodnight, a circuit judge seeking vengeance on the man who killed his family. It's unclear at this time whether or not Priestley will appear in front of the camera, but the very idea of these former "Beverly Hills" rivals turned pals getting back together is pretty excellent nonetheless.

It's so excellent, in fact, that we're left wondering about some other possible ways that Priestley and Perry could team up in the future. After the jump, check out our ideas. Read More...

Zac Efron may have had his breakout as a "High School Musical" heartthrob, but he's been very clear in his intentions to evolve beyond those beginnings into more serious acting fare. He's taking another shot this Friday with "Charlie St. Cloud," a fantasy/drama about a young man (Efron) grieving over the death of his younger brother.

With the movie out on Friday, this is prime time for Efron to figure out what he's going to do next. He's already got a TV appearance lined up, voicing Anakin Skywalker on the next "Robot Chicken: Star Wars" special. Now Deadline reports that there are two film roles he's considering as well. First up is "The Lucky One," an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel, about a soldier coming home from Iraq who sets out to find a woman in a picture he's been carrying as his good luck charm. The other is "Die In a Gunfight," an action flick with echoes of the "Romeo & Juliet" story written by a pair of fresh-faced newcomers. Deadline describes "The Lucky One" as Efron's "likely" next effort. What do you make of all this? Will you be seeing "Charlie St. Cloud" this weekend?

Congratulations are in order for Amanda Bynes, the accomplished "All That" actress who announced her unretirement after just one month of supposedly leaving the film industry forever. Bynes announced her decision to "unretire" a few short days ago, providing fans of her work with plenty of cause to celebrate. Of course, skeptics and detractors have plenty of cause to celebrate, too.

Retirement is a tenuous thing in the film industry. With the right material or a hefty enough paycheck, anyone can come out of hiding. Still, there are certain actors who are a bit more committed to the idea of retirement than Bynes apparently was — actors who we really want to see make a comeback.

After the jump, check out five actors who should follow Bynes' example and "unretire" themselves back into the acting game! Read More...

"Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid" is already something I can't wait to see. Deborah Gibson and Tiffany, stars of "Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus" and "Mega Piranha," respectively, lead the cast of this one. They're at odds too, which is a not-too-subtle nod to the unofficial rivalry had when they were both pop singers. In the video below we get a glimpse at just how at odds they are...

I love this clip for so many reasons. The main one though? It's apparently a LOT longer than what we see here. Notice how the clip transitions from location to location each time they roll out of the frame. I like to envision it as one MEGA fight scene, spanning multiple minutes of our lives. But will it top the epic showdown in "They Live"? Read More...

If events like San Diego Comic-Con hold no interest for you, you can be forgiven for not knowing what "cosplay" is. SDCC and its ilk tends to bring a diverse crowd, including the hardcore franchise and genre fans who take their enthusiasm far enough that they dress up as their favorite characters. This is cosplay, short for "costume play." Go to something like SDCC and you'll see it everywhere. Or you could just check out our gallery.

And so we come to the lovely and talented Felicia Day, star of the web comedy series "The Guild." Day was of course in attendance at Comic-Con last week; that's entirely her scene. While she was wandering around the show floor she came across the group you'll find her posed for a photo op with after the jump. "Mass Effect" is a popular sci-fi video game for Xbox 360 and PC; the folks in that picture are dressed as characters from the game. Those are some seriously excellent costumes too-- check it out for yourself after the jump. Read More...

Amanda Bynes' retirement from acting didn't last long, and she let the world know that she's back in the business Friday. Twitter-Wood took notice and reacted accordingly, and I've retweeted a couple such comments after the jump. Brian Lynch's in particular could be a billion-dollar idea.

Elsewhere, someone new has fallen for Justin Bieber, and who it is may surprise you. He claims to have been at a concert and liked what he saw. You can find out what his identity is below, as well as what it looked like watching the "Mad Men" Season 4 premiere with the cast and crew, what Danny DeVito thoughts of it and what Tyra Banks' new profile pick looks like.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for July 26, 2010. Read More...
