The people in charge at Disney these days recognize talent and clearly understand how to harness it. Last week we learned that Pixar vets Brad Bird and Michael Arndt had been brought in to collaborate with "Tron Legacy" writers Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis on better bringing on the film's "character, emotion and theme."

Now, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the Pixar Brain Trust -- which includes John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Peter Docter, Andrew Stanton, Michael Arndt, Bob Peterson and Ed Catmull -- has been brought in to consult with Jason Segel, James Bobin and the rest of the folks responsible for bringing together Disney's upcoming Muppets movie. This is nothing short of fantastic news for everyone involved. Disney bosses Rich Ross and Sean Bailey are doing incredible things to leverage the talent they've got in-house in the best ways possible. My excitement for the Muppets movie was already at unmanageable levels, but with Pixar whispering in the ears of Segel, Bobin et al... it's almost too much to process. What do you think of Pixar putting its touch on upcoming Disney properties? Will we soon be calling the Mouse House the Lamp House?

You might remember back in June when we debuted a fairly excellent poster for director Rodrigo Cortes' Sundance favorite "Buried," which stars Ryan Reynolds as a kidnapped contractor in Iraq who wakes up to find that he's been sealed in a wooden box beneath the ground with nothing more than a lighter, a cellphone and the clothes on his back.

The June poster debut wore its Alfred Hitchcock influence proudly, immediately earning comparisons to similar posters for the master director's classic, "Vertigo." The new trailer, embedded below, maintains the same aesthetic. I love it, and can't wait to see the movie, which opens in limited release on September 24 and then goes wide on October 8.

I've got a cool image to share with you today. MTV managed to exclusively obtain a copy of the image promoting Matt Reeves' "Let the Right One In" remake, "Let Me In," which can be seen at the Dark Horse Comics booth at San Diego Comic-Con. If the movie's own street cred as a "Let the Right One In" remake isn't enough, know too that it is being produced by legendary horror label Hammer Films. The image reveal is all part of our larger effort to bring the highlights of SDCC straight into the homes of those among us who aren't fortunate enough to be enjoying the festivities in Southern California this week.

I've also got another treat for you, some words from Reeves himself about what we might expect to learn from Saturday's "Let Me In" panel. Not much of the movie has been shown so far and there are a lot of questions out there about how this Americanized remake will compare to/diverge from the Swedish original. Check it all out after the jump! Read more...

The image off to the right there is just one of the handful of glimpses we get of the added footage in James Cameron's upcoming re-release of "Avatar" in the just-released TV spot. The sci-fi epic, which blew past "Titanic" several months ago to become the top-grossing film of all time, arrives in theaters once again on August 27, bulked up with an extra eight minutes of footage that wasn't in the original cut.

"Avatar" obviously had a strong theatrical run, but Cameron was nonetheless disappointed when he was forced to cede dominance of 3-D screens across the country for Disney's April release of "Alice in Wonderland." "Avatar" looks great at home, especially if you're watching the Blu-ray on a hi-def TV, but nothing can compare to the experience of seeing it in theaters in full 3-D. So those who missed it the first time around, and those who just want a chance to get the full 3-D experience again, will get their shot at the end of August. Hit the jump to check out the TV spot. World War ZComic-Con is barely underway in San Diego and we already have some big news from the show floor!

While chatting up "World War Z" author Max Brooks at the booth for comic publisher Avatar Press, the writer confirmed to MTV News that the adaption of his novel about the zombie apocalypse is not only moving forward, but Brad Pitt is now officially attached to star in the film. Additionally, Brooks revealed that Paramount has optioned the movie rights to two more of his projects: "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks" graphic novel.

Pitt's production company Plan B Entertainment first secured the rights to "World War Z" back in 2007 after a bidding war with Leonardo DiCaprio's company, Appian Way. The actor has long been rumored as a potential lead for the film, but Brooks received the call confirming Pitt's attachment (and the other "Survival Guide" deals) while signing copies of the books at the Avatar booth tonight (Wednesday, July 21) during Preview Night at Comic-Con. Justin Bieber shout-outs show up on Twitter more frequently than the Fail Whale, but Marlon Wayans singing the pop star's praises was something a bit out of the ordinary. Apparently the actor's daughter is quite a fan. And speaking of fans willing to do crazy things (you'll understand when you read the tweet), this is Comic-Con week in San Diego. That means the great Twitter-Wood migration is underway to the entertainment industry's epic annual nerd gathering.

You can find out who's en route, as well as why Denise Richards thinks she looks like a porn star, who Helena Mattsson has been hanging out with and what an "Eclipse" actor thought of "Inception."

I'm @brianwarmoth, and everything below constitutes Twitter-Wood for July 21, 2010. Read more...

We got a trio of behind-the-scenes featurettes today from Warner Bros. for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." I'm not sure how extensively these have been spread around, but all three feature interviews with the cast and crew and footage from both the set and the movie. Not a ton that we haven't seen yet, but there are definitely snippets. Find the first one below and the other two after the jump.

I had meant to write up this news earlier in the week, but San Diego Comic-Con planning got in the way (send us your questions!). Bill Murray is a true national treasure. If you're a journalist who is lucky enough to spend any amount of time with him, you make the best of that time by asking him about every freaking thing you can think of. Because you never know what he's going to say, but it's always going to be entertaining.

In this particular case, Murray gave a lengthy interview to GQ. And, as these things often do, talk inevitably turned to "Garfield." Okay, okay... things don't inevitably go that way, but it is undoubtedly Murray's most questionable career choice and the interviewer in question wanted to know what led to it. Whether or not he's telling the truth, the response is hilarious. Let's all just agree right here that it's true, even if it's not. Cool? Then read on... Read more...
