The readers -- you readers -- have spoken. The trailer touted it and you agree: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is the motion picture event of a generation. I kept my opinion to myself in the original post, but I completely agree. This is a franchise that's spanned 10 years. Many of your grew up alongside Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the Hogwarts gang. It's been a long, strange trip, but you all took it together.
You voted big for Potter, with almost 80% of you choosing "Deathly Hallows." As much as I agree, I still have to play Devil's Advocate. "Harry Potter" was a book before it was ever a movie. Shouldn't such an honor go to a pure work of cinema? Does it not matter? Or did you cast your vote not for the movie but for the actual franchise coming to an end? Sure, J.K. Rowling released her last "Potter" book in 2007. But we were deep into the movie series by then, to the point that I think many saw the two as inextricably linked. You can see the results of the poll below. And I encourage you to share your thoughts in the comments below.
