Rock 'em Sock 'em RobotsIt's a project that sounds as if it was lifted straight out of an "Entourage" storyline — all it needs is Vinny Chase as the leading man — as director Wolfgang Peterson is allegedly attached to shepherd a film adaptation of "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots" to the big screen.

Pajiba has the unconfirmed scoop that Mattel and Mandeville Films are teaming together for a movie based on the "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots" board game, where two players sit on opposite sides of a miniature boxing arena with a fighting robot at their disposal. The players make the robots box one another until the loser's head pops up in defeat. Peterson is reportedly attached to direct with Kurt Wimmer rumored to pen the screenplay. Read More...

"Futurama" returns tonight on Comedy Central at 10pm. This is really freaking exciting news. The show was canceled in 2003 and that seemed to be it. Then it went into syndication and a funny thing happened: people were watching it. A lot of people. So four direct-to-DVD movies were released, and later broken out into individual episodes, making up a season of their own. And then, finally, the call came for straight-up new episodes, to air on Comedy Central. And so we get 26, which will divide up into two seasons, airing in 2010 and 2011.

To celebrate the ridiculously long-awaited return of the David X. Cohen/Matt Groening-conceived series, we sat down to chat with Billy West and Maurice LaMarche, who you might know better as Philip J. Fry (among others) and Kif (also among others). And you know what? Any excitement you're feeling at being back, they're feeling it more to the power of ten. Seriously... the whole crew is simply stoked. Read More...

Channing Tatum Given the $2.7 billion worldwide total hauled in by "Avatar," it's hardly surprising that 20th Century Fox is looking to stay in the sci-fi game. There's no question that James Cameron and Sam Worthington will return to the lush jungles of Pandora at some point, it's just a matter of when. In the meantime, Fox is looking to keep its sci-fi cred alive with a different project entirely—a project called "Ion."

According to Heat Vision, the movie studio has its eye on "Ion," a science fiction romance epic with "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and "Dear John" actor Channing Tatum loosely attached to star. Newcomer Will Dunn wrote the original spec script with Ridley and Tony Scott attached to produce. Several other studios in addition to Fox are vying for the project, though Fox is supposedly the lead contender.

"Ion" focuses on a man (Tatum) who goes around traveling "to different Earths and dimensions in order to find his reincarnated lover," according to Heat Vision. "Execs are using the magic word – 'Avatar' – to describe the scope and otherworldly elements of the script." Read More...

Snooki and the "Eclipse" cast may be jazzed about the new "Twilight" sequel's release this week, but Chris Kattan is not impressed, assuming his Twitter post today was meant to be sarcastic. If it wasn't meant as sarcasm, he may have just declared himself to be one of the biggest lovers of sparkling vampires in all of Twitter-Wood.

Few celebs have dared to trash "Toy Story 3," meanwhile. Christopher Mintz-Plasse wrote down some thoughts after seeing it, and director Lee Unkrich shared a photo with a few of the film's voice actors. Meanwhile, almost everyone else in our feed has been watching Wimbeldon or the World Cup. You can check out some match reactions and the jump along with another use Linsday Lohan has discovered for her iPad and Rainn Wilson's suggestions for the war in Afghanistan

All of this and more appears in Twitter-Wood for June 24, 2010. Read More...

Neil Patrick HarrisFans of the "Harold and Kumar" franchise were devastated when former child actor turned drug-addled bad boy Neil Patrick Harris died at the hands of Beverly D'Angelo at a whore house in "Escape from Guantanamo Bay."

Thankfully, Harold, Kumar and moviegoers haven't seen the last of NPH, as it's been confirmed that Harris will reprise his ludicrous self-parodying role for the currently shooting "A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas," the third outing in the stoner comedy series. The real question, of course, is how does NPH plan to make it back from the dead?

While we don't know the circumstances surrounding Neil's glorious resurrection, we can certainly take a few guesses. Join us after the jump for our predictions on how NPH will return to the "Harold and Kumar" franchise! Read More...

Typically stars of big franchises confess that they try not to read about themselves on the Internet, so we were a little surprised last week when "Harry Potter" leading man Daniel Radcliffe confessed to MTV that he was a big fan of the YouTube sensation "Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise."

In fact, he and the rest of the cast of "Harry Potter" love it so much that they've been talking about spoofing the video for charity. Read More...

John Cho and Kal Penn are central to the success of the two "Harold and Kumar" movies, no question. But Neil Patrick Harris? A very close second. Appearing as a drug-addled, sociopathic version of himself, the "How I Met Your Mother" star contributes to some of the most memorable scenes in the first two movies.

Now, with "A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas" on the way and officially in production, we have confirmation: NPH is back! The confirmation comes from the man himself, who sat down for a chat with the folks at Hollywood.com. There's no word on how he'll factor into the story, but it ought to be interesting since (**SPOILER ALERT**) he was killed by an angry Beverly D'Angelo in "Escape from Guantanamo Bay."

The summer has barely begun, it's true, but we're already looking ahead to next summer and the joyous celluloid fruits that it will bear. One of the more delicious-looking offerings is "Fast Five," which reunites "The Fast and the Furious" stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker in another high-speed, custom car-fueled adventure. They'll be joined in next year's movie by a brand new character, a tough-as-nails lawman tasked with bringing the outlaws in, played by the always-entertaining Dwayne Johnson. MTV's Josh Horowitz spoke to the actor recently at the Spike Guy's Choice Awards and he managed to squeeze out a few new details about the character and his role in the story.

"We're gonna introduce a new character into the franchise," he said. "A really unique U.S. Marshal who is hired to hunt and track down Vin Diesel and Paul Walker." Unique? What the heck does that mean? Read More...

From the genius studio -- and I say "genius" with absolute seriousness -- that brought you the spectacle of "Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus" and "Mega Piranha" comes the next great work of Supersized Animal versus Supersized Animal fiction: "Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid"! At last, the stars of "Mega Shark" (Debbie Gibson) and "Mega Piranha" (Tiffany) will come together in a single movie! You'll see them brawl! In a swamp! Likely while gigantic snakes and 'roid-fueled reptiles rage all around them. It's going to be beautiful, a match-up for the ages. You can read the rest of this amazing news on MTV.com.
