I don't really know how to diplomatically describe what Robert Pattinson is talking about in the below video. Other than to say that MTV Movies managing editor Josh Horowitz asks him about his favorite piece of oddball "Twilight"-branded merchandise. It's something that glitters, but let's face it: the best "Twi" swag is the stuff that glitters. So go ahead and hit play, hear it from the man himself...

It's never easy bringing a much-loved novel to the big screen. When it's a seven book saga that has captured the imagination of the entire world, it's pretty close to impossible. Yet the many actors and directors who have brought the "Harry Potter" series to life in film have done just that. So far.
After 10 years, the cameras finally stopped rolling on the set of "Harry Potter" this past weekend. Actor Warwick Davis tweeted about how emotional it was to hear director David Yates yell "Cut!" for the last time. While there have been some aspects of the series that have been botched, they are far outweighed by just how many things the films got right.
What follows is a "greatest hits" of the series, a look back on the best-adapted elements in the film series and some hopeful speculation on what will stand out in the coming two-part telling of the chapter, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Read more...

Look. I don't care what the box office numbers say. "The A-Team" was awesome! It should have owned this past weekend. Instead it finished in a distant second to "The Karate Kid." It's unfortunate, but there's still plenty of time in the summer for "A-Team" to build up some steam.
Director Joe Carnahan isn't necessarily planning out a sequel with his first outing not even a week old, but he did have an idea for the "A-Team" opening which went unshot, and which he hopes to use if a sequel does happen.
"In the original opening of the film... all you saw was Hannibal with these goggles on and this kind of white environment," he explained. "You realized as the camera pulled back that there were sled dogs. As you pulled back even further you realized they were sled dogs going over the dunes in the desert." Read more...

He's only 11 years old -- 12, in July -- and yet Jaden Smith, the son of Hollywood couple Will and Jada, has already gotten star billing in two big ticket movies: "The Pursuit of Happyness," with his dad, in 2006; and "The Day the Earth Stood Still," with Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly, in 2008. This weekend, young Jaden opened his first summer blockbuster, starring alongside Jackie Chan in a revival of the '80s classic, "The Karate Kid." Boy oh boy did he open it... "Kid" premiered to a weekend box office total of $56 million, more than doubling what fellow opener (and '80s revival) "The A-Team" took in.
The coming weeks will paint a better picture of course, but it's fair to say that "The Karate Kid" is on track to become this year's "The Blind Side," last year's Sandra Bullock-starring drama which turned into a surprise box office giant. Whatever it is that draws crowds to Jaden's kung fu stylings, it's clearly working. Now the young actor finds himself at a crossroads: how to best leverage this newfound success to benefit his burgeoning career. Read more...

Whaddya know? Robert Pattinson and I have something in common! Neither of us has read "Breaking Dawn," the final chapter in Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series! Surprising, right?
Fear not, Twilighters. You can bet that he'll read it before filming for the two-part series finale gets underway. For now though, he can only ponder what will be with those movies.
"I'm glad they're shooting them together at least, because I think that'll just be easier, doing it all in one," Pattinson said in a weekend interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz, at the "Eclipse" press junket. "The only thing I know about it is the famous scene, the Cesarean scene. I do not envy Bill Condon to have to think of a way to do that." Read more...

"Harry Potter" actor Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick and the banker goblin Griphook) issued a string of tweets over the weekend, revealing to the world that principal photography on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" has officially wrapped. There's still probably some second unit work to be done, as well as the months-long, CG-heavy post production process, but the main cast members have officially filmed the last of their scenes together.
It's been almost a decade since the first movie premiered, which effectively catapulted "Potter" from literary phenomenon to cultural touchstone. There have since been a whole line of reference books, spin-off video games -- including the upcoming LEGO-fied release -- and, opening this week, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios Orlando. We'll be there on Wednesday for the grand opening, and we'll be talking to some surprise guests from the principal cast. If you have any questions for the "Potter" crew, share them with us here in the comments or tweet them directly to MTV Movies managing editor Josh Horowitz (@JoshuaHorowitz), who will be there to cover the opening.

AMC gave viewers a sneak peek at "Rubicon" last night, their new conspiracy thriller series starring James Badge Dale, the star of HBO's "The Pacific." I unfortunately missed it, but I'll be checking out the pilot later today. Anyone out there in reader-land watch it? What did you think?
Badge Dale is a great actor. He got a lot of fans when he spent a season as Chase Edmunds on "24" and he impressed the hell out of me with his work on "The Pacific." There's a great supporting cast surrounding him here too: Miranda Richardson, "The Wire" vets Peter Gerety (Judge Phelan) and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. (Clay Davis), awesome "that guy" actor David Rasche... the list goes on. I'm dead curious to see how the pilot shapes up and am curious to hear what y'all think.
From "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" to "Rubicon" and, soon enough, "The Walking Dead." AMC is going to own basic cable networks with its edgy original programming before long.

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are something of an unlikely screen duo, but that makes their co-starring roles in early 2011 release "The Tourist" all the more intriguing. After a protracted casting process that at one point had Charlize Theron and Tom Cruise set to star, the Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck-directed thriller has been shooting for a little while now. The image below is the first to be officially released Sony, and while it's light on action it is certainly heavy on star power.

The story follows Depp's titular traveler, an American who flies off to France for a break after his love life implodes. There he meets Jolie's Elise, an Interpol agent who needs his help on a case. "The Tourist" also stars Paul Bettany, Timothy Dalton and Rufus Sewell.

1. "The Karate Kid" ($56 million)
2. "The A-Team" ($26 million)
3. "Shrek Forever After" ($15.8 million)
4. "Get Him to the Greek" ($10.1 million)
5. "Killers" ($8.2 million)
Rebooting franchises isn't always a popular idea, but in many cases, it's a profitable one. Such was the case this weekend as two updates on classic properties entered the box office arena in the form of "The Karate Kid" and "The A-Team," with the kung fu-centric reboot coming out in first place. Hannibal Smith, Faceman Peck, B.A. Baracus and Howling Mad Murdock entered the box office arena this weekend without a Plan B — and it could prove to be their undoing, as Sony's reboot of the "Karate Kid" franchise ended up winning out on Friday evening with an impressive $18.8 million haul.
