Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen And Natalie Portman Offered Roles In Tom Tykwer 'Cloud Atlas' Adaptation

Tom Tykwer proved what a great director he is with "Run Lola Run," but we don't see nearly enough of him. That's going to change if this dream team of actors assembles for his adaptation of David Mitchell's novel "Cloud Atlas," which will be produced by the Wachowskis. Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen and Natalie Portman have all been offered parts, according to Production Weekly (via The Playlist). I've not read the novel, but it features six main characters and "spans thousands of years and several genres." Color me intrigued. I think I know which book I'll be reading next. I have one question though: who will play main character #6?
