While I thoroughly enjoyed the series finale of "Lost," there were some elements to the ending that left me wanting more. Chief among them? Hugo "Hurley" Reyes and Benjamin Linus adopting their new roles as the Island's modern incarnations of Jacob and Richard Alpert. It's a seriously unlikely pairing, but a brilliant one nonetheless. After it became clear that these two led the Island for numerous years following the finale, I actually felt like I could watch another television series devoted solely to that story.
Looks like we don't have to wait for a spinoff series, however, as Michael Emerson told "Attack of the Show" that the "Lost" complete series DVD will include a "12 - 14 minute" epilogue featuring Ben and Hurley in their new roles. So what might we see in such an epilogue? Who knows — but after the jump, I've got a few ideas for what we should see! Read more...

Up until now, the website for summer 2010's insane ensemble action flick "The Expendables" has included little more than a logo and a trailer. Frankly, that's been enough. After all, the trailer features Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis in the same room, an action geek's dream come true. All that changed today however with a heaping dose of new material.
The front page is completely altered, with a scrollable lineup of the movie's assorted badasses. You can also click the little floating skulls to dig through all manner of facts, photos, videos, etc. I'm a sucker for a slickly designed movie homepage, and that's definitely what we have here. Check it out right here!

Even with all of the public animosity between "Transformers" star Megan Fox and her director Michael Bay, it was still surprising to learn last week that she wouldn't be returning for next year's third entry in the series. Star Tyrese Gibson is pretty broken up about it, as you can see in the video below.
The news then broke earlier this week that Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was the front-runner to replace Fox as the female lead. More than that, the other short-list candidates have reportedly been notified that Huntington-Whiteley has the role. So now that we have a name... well... who is she??? Read more...

Even if you've been following the odd saga of Joaquin Phoenix over the past couple years, it's still difficult to separate the facts from the fiction. In mid-2008 it was learned that the actor was switching gears in his career to focus on creating music, specifically hip-hop. This shift quickly became the subject of a documentary, directed by Casey Affleck, about the move. Phoenix is getting plenty of support for his music, with rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs reportedly mentoring him. So when MTV's Josh Horowitz sat down with the prolific rapper/producer/music executive/actor at the "Get Him to the Greek" junket, he had to dig a little deeper into what's going on with the Phoenix.
According to Diddy, the the actor is "for real." Hear it from the man himself in the below clip:

For well over 10 years now, numerous Hollywood producers and directors have done their best to remake "Logan's Run," the classic 1976 science fiction film about a dystopian future where no one is allowed to live past the age of 30. The film has passed through capable hands belonging to Bryan Singer, Joseph Kosinski and others. Today, a new director is reporting to Carousel to try his luck at renewing the remake: Carl Erik Rinsch.
Rinsch presents a curious case. While he's an unknown quantity to the mainstream moviegoing populace, the filmmaker is a red hot commodity in the Hollywood circuit these days. Best known for his work as a commercial director, Rinsch — considered a protege of director Ridley Scott's — has seen his name attached to a number of high profile projects in recent weeks and months. Sandra Bullock finished out last year on top of the world. Her starring roles in "The Proposal" and "The Blind Side" (and "All About Steve," to a much lesser extent) led to her being named the top-grossing star of 2009. She then went on to win a number of awards, including a Best Actress Oscar for "The Blind Side." She even handled winning a pair of Razzies with grace.
Unfortunately, troubles at home for Bullock that surfaced shortly after the Academy Awards cast a shadow over her Oscar win. She's kept clear of press and public appearances since then, taking the time to properly compose herself for an adoring, sympathetic public. That isolation will end on June 6, when Bullock appears at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards to accept the Generation Award.
Head over to MTV.com to check out the full story and remember: there's still time to cast your vote! Voting closes on June 5 in all categories EXCEPT Best Movie, which doesn't close until the night of the show. So cast your vote now!

Patton Oswalt apparently received an apology after airing his plagiarism grievance yesterday. Today, he had a new complaint, however, as a public statement about the use of his material in a Columbia University valedictorian's speech misspelled his name.
Meanwhile, most of Twitter-Wood has been watching the BP oil spill situation down in the Gulf of Mexico. Conan O'Brien and Rob Huebel were both inspired by BP's efforts and discussed such reactions in their tweets. Check out what they had to say after the jump, along with pictures from Ice-T and Paris Hilton, Alison Brie's "Get Him to the Greek" plans and Jeremy Piven's thoughts on smooth jazz.

All this week, David Hayter is serving on MTV Movies Blog as guest editor. He's the perfect guy to commentate as the Friday release of "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" draws closer. In addition to scripting a number of significant blockbusters -- "X-Men," "X2: X-Men United" and "Watchmen" -- Hayter also has an extensive background in the video game industry, having voiced the iconic Solid Snake character ever since "Metal Gear Solid" put a new spin on the classic Konami stealth-action franchise back in 1998.
Considering his background, it's odd that Hayter has never adapted a video game for film. Considering the sub-genre's spotty history and the writer/actor's own background, it seems like a perfect pairing. Hayter actually has gone after a couple of video game adaptations, perhaps most notably the Capcom title "Lost Planet." Keep reading to learn exactly what happened with that script and why it so appealed to him for a film treatment. Read more...

One of the most exciting new projects to surface amidst the many screenings and parties at Cannes Film Festival is "Splatter Sisters," a horror flick set to star Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood. I'm pretty stoked for it, especially with David Gordon Green and Edward Pressman ("The Crow," "American Psycho") producing. Adam Bhala Lough will direct, following up his stellar 2009 Lil Wayne documentary "The Carter."
As soon as I read about "Splatter Sisters," I wanted to know more. The original report mentions gore, exploitation and a desire to in some way evolve "Skinemax" film, similar to how Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez throw back to the '70s in "Grindhouse." So I put in a call to Pressman's office; not only was he more than happy to talk about "Splatter Sisters," he also connected me with Lough for an in-depth follow-up chat. Pressman's comments are after the jump; check back here tomorrow for a deep dive into Lough's twisted vision. Read more...
