We reported the news at the beginning of April that "The Bourne Ultimatum" director Paul Greengrass was in talks to direct a James Cameron-produced remake of "Fantastic Voyage." Those talks are no longer happening, as it appears that Greengrass has moved on to another high-profile adaptation/remake: "Treasure Island." It doesn't appear to be confirmed yet; check out the full report on Deadline if you want to know more.

Good morning, readers! The fuzzy fellow you see off to the right is my dog, Loki. Loki got a special treat last night. As you might have seen here yesterday, Hasbro sent over one of the giant "Star Wars" AT-AT toys that go on sale starting in August, as part of the celebration surrounding today's 30th anniversary of "Star Wars - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back." So I brought this awesome thing home to introduce to Loki.
Let me set the scene for you. You've got Loki, a smiling, 85 pound Chow Chow. And then you've got the AT-AT, which measures 28 inches long, 24 inches high and 7 inches wide (closer to 12 inches when the side hatches are open). Pooch and machine are roughly the same size. Which led to an interesting (read: adorable and hilarious) photo session when they first met last night. Hit the jump to see for yourself. Read more...

Reports are circulating that Megan Fox has been ousted from the cast of "Transformers 3," with insiders telling Deadline that giving Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky a "new love interest makes more sense for the story." Paramount has confirmed the news to GossipCop.
We could dissect the behind-the-scenes drama all day long, but a simple fact remains: Paramount needs a replacement. It's not an enviable task given how deeply Megan Fox's character Mikaela Banes was connected to the action movie's human story — indeed, Lorenzo di Bonaventura told MTV News just last month that reports of Fox leaving the film were "silly" — but the reality is, LaBeouf needs a new love interest… and we've got some ideas for who that could be.
Come play matchmaker with us after the jump as we propose some possible candidates to replace Megan Fox in the next "Transformers" film! Read more...

Ice-T has established credibility as a gamer. Somewhere along the line, he also became a regular resource for new game reviews, and he's been asked on Twitter just what he thinks of Rockstar Games' "Red Dead Redemption." Today, it received his approval, so if you were awaiting such news to buy it, there you are.
In other tweets, Amy Smart revealed her long-harbored aversion to microwaves. I clicked on her link, and now instant oatmeal is kind of giving me the heebie jeebies. Find out if you're scared, too, down below along with a picture of the Peabody-winning "Modern Family" cast, Eliza Dushku on going back to school, Olivia Wilde's affection for the iPad and David Slade's case for Muse. It's all in Twitter-Wood for May 19, 2010. Read more...

Regular readers know very well that I am a RABID "Star Wars" fan. Which makes the package that arrived today pretty much the greatest thing ever. Especially after MTV Splash Page editor Rick Marshall -- the package's recipient -- bestowed it on me. It's an amazing piece of toy... and I haven't even put it together yet! Stay tuned, readers. Photo ops to come. The assembled AT-AT is roughly the size of my dog, so I greatly anticipate their first meeting. For now, content yourself with this gallery of the box's innards.
Also, here's some information you might need if you want to, you know, get one for yourself. The AT-AT arrives in stores on August 1, 2010 and it will retail for $99.99.

"Lost" ends this Sunday (May 23), and MTV Movies Blog is celebrating the show's legacy all week long with The Lost Awards, your opportunity to vote on your favorite moments from the hit series! We'll announce new polls every day -- so far there's Most Devious Island Dweller and Who's Your Candidate -- that fans can vote on until Monday (May 24). Winners will be announced that afternoon. Good luck, and as the members of the DHARMA Initiative are so fond of saying, namaste!
On "Lost," death is about as common as the cold. With only one episode remaining in the series, a healthy portion of the faces that have graced the mythical Island are currently six feet under. Some of these deaths were avoidable, some were story mistakes, while others were just… well, epic.
But of the many great deaths on "Lost," which one was the most epic? That's a decision we leave to you, good reader! After the jump, make your case for the most epic death on "Lost" to date! Read more...

The heavily story-focused video game "Heavy Rain" drew many comparisons with the work of David Fincher -- particularly "Se7en" -- when it arrived in stores earlier this year. The game plays more like an interactive movie than anything else, so it's no wonder there are plans to turn it into a movie in the offing. The story follows a group of characters held in the grip of fear by a marauding serial murder, "The Origami Killer," who leaves a piece of the folded paper at the site of each of his murders. Unique Features, headed by Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, is the top bidder for the franchise in a nearly finished auction, Deadline reports. Head over there to check out the full story.

Well it turns out that Jason Bateman wasn't wrong when he said we have Will Arnett and Mitch Hurwitz to blame for the "Arrested Development" movie delay. The eagerly anticipated, long overdue flick has been pushed back a little more thanks to the latest Hurwitz sitcom, "Running Wilde," which stars Arnett. Don't be sad though. Gob Bluth revealed that the "Arrested" movie is coming sooner than anyone might think.
"We open next Friday," he joked to MTV News at the Fox Upfronts, where he was doing press for "Wilde," along with co-star Keri Russell. "4200 theaters, so we're excited about it." Read more...

Last night's holy-crap-it's-almost-over episode of "Lost" gave us both welcome reintroductions and bitter farewells.
Good to see you, devilish Ben Linus! You've spent far too long boxed in as a whimpering Mr. Nice Guy and we're happy you and your unblinking bug eyes are back, shootin' dudes and making plans to off anyone who gets in your way. Just whose side are you on? Are you in the midst of a long, Black Smoke-screwing con? Are you simply fueled for bloodlust by the memories of your callously slain daughter? We don't know, and that's why we dig it: the ambiguous, diabolical Ben Linus is back, and we couldn't be happier.
And hey! There's Ana Lucia, back in the picture as a dirty cop who's gotta get paid! Also, wowee... Jack is the new Jacob, who is terribly sorry he made a mistake a few thousand years ago and created that cloud of black smoke that's been killing all of Jack's pals. Plus we got Hurley and Desmond in the midst of executing what might be a flash sideways world-eliminating plan. Is it just us, or did their whole dynamic scream, "Spin-off buddy comedy series"? Lindelof and Cuse, call us!
Of course, every door that opens shuts two more on "Lost." Charles Widmore, we feel, deserved a more momentous death sequence, following as it did on Sayid's whatever-dude-you're-off-the-show death a few eps ago. Richard, too, kinda got screwed. Can a guy get a hero's death around here? I mean really! Then again, He Of The Mighty Eyeliner might not be dead, seeing as how he's supposed to be immortal.
Questions, questions, everywhere! They kept popping up last night, and daylight didn't bring us respite from the "What ifs" and "How the f—ks?" Thus my colleague Vanessa White Wolf and I sat down to chat about some of our favorite moments and look forward to what might be coming down the line on Sunday's series finale.
We're celebrating the long-awaited conclusion of "Lost" all this week at MTV News! We'll be bringing you exclusive interviews, insightful commentary and, in true "Lost" fashion, maybe even a surprise or two. Head over to the MTV Movies Blog, where our "Lost" Awards continue all this week, and make sure to tune in on Sunday night for our series finale live blog!

This summer Amanda Seyfried will begin work on "Red Riding Hood," helmed by "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke. Seyfried admits that when fans come out to theaters on April 22, 2011, they will definitely get a little creeped out by the film's interpretation of the iconic fairytale bad guy, the Big Bad Wolf.
"The wolf is the enemy and it’s a very, very dangerous enemy and nobody knows who the wolf is. So it’s a hunt and it's really cool," Seyfried told MTV News at the junket for "Letters For Juliet," adding that she has an actor in mind to play the pivotal role. Read more...
