Audiences really enjoy a good scare. When watching horror films especially, the chill viewers get is part of the thrill because of the disconnect present in watching movies. After all, the events are not happening to you. They're happening to that moronic teen who decided to go for a naked late night swim in the creepy lake, a place known for the gruesome murders that have occurred there. What if it was real though? How do you ensure you end up as the series survivor and not as the latest victim of machete hacking? The answer is surprisingly simple.

With the recent announcement of a brand new "Ring" film (in 3-D of course), it got me thinking that surviving some of these horror franchises really isn't all that difficult to do. Sure, if you find yourself stuck on a trip to "The Final Destination" then you're sort of screwed. Sorry kids, no escaping death. But making it through a night of "Halloween" is smooth sailing so long as you follow some key advice. Hit the jump for my tips on exactly how to survive these horror movie classics. You know... just in case. Read More...

"Iron Man 2" is out on May 7 -- next Friday -- and fans are pretty excited. Partially because "Iron Man" was a fantastic movie and everyone wants to see where Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) goes next. And partially because the expanding Marvel Universe in film will be further developed. For many, it's basically a foregone conclusion that there's more "Iron Man" to come. Downey won't confirm it outright in the video below, but he does speak a bit to the larger plan that's in place for developing Marvel properties. For more on this story, check out Rick Marshall's full write-up on MTV Splash Page.

"The Other Guys" -- out August 6 -- is the latest bit of comedy genius to emerge from the mind Adam McKay, the director behind "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" and "Step Brothers." In the coming summer comedy, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg star two New York City cops on a big case.

If you're thinking "Lethal Weapon," think again. "The Other Guys" cleverly shatters conventions by positioning Ferrell and Wahlberg as a pair who aren't known for getting the job done. The department's super-cops -- the "Lethal Weapon" team, if you will -- factor into the story in more minor roles, fittingly played by Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson. In a recent interview with MTV's Eric Ditzian, part of our ongoing Summer Preview Week, McKay revealed a number of interesting facts about the upcoming release. Read More...

As if the Germans haven't provided enough villains, along comes "The Human Centipede," which has earned the honor of most controversial film of the year. The film follows a mad German doctor who kidnaps three people -- including two attractive American girls, natch -- for a horrific experiment in which he will sew his victims together, ass to mouth, linking their digestive systems to create a "human centipede." Grossed out yet? Everyone else is.

The film -- which already has its sequel greenlit -- was picked up by IFC Films and will see a limited theatrical release beginning April 30. Check out our exclusive clip from the flick below, featuring the doc explaining what's in store to his unwilling participants.

"Anchorman 2" is the Bigfoot of the movies world. Everyone wants to see it happen, reports even occasionally surface about sightings but, in truth, it may very well just not exist. I mean, it's real to an extent. Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell, Judd Apatow, Adam McKay and Steve Carell have all talked openly about it, wanting to do it. Carell even told us recently that it's already been shot, though we're pretty sure he was kidding.

MTV's Eric Ditzian recently spoke with writer/director McKay, who also has "The Other Guys" coming out this summer (August 6), and he revealed that there's more to the ongoing saga of "Anchorman 2" than the fans actually realize. Many have speculated that the sequel hasn't happened primarily because the talented cast have only become more famous since the 2004 release, and pulling them together for an ensemble with their busy schedules is difficult. As it turns out, there's more to it than that. Read More...

"Get Him To The Greek" is going to be awesome. The danger with comedies is always that the best jokes are being revealed in the trailer. As we see in the clip below, there's plenty more funny to be found that hasn't been featured in any of the ads. Writer/director Nicholas Stoller looks to have done a great job with what basically amounts to a "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" spin-off. In the clip below, stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand are chased by a crazed music executive played by Diddy, who has a pretty prominent role in the movie.

"Iron Man 2" premiered in Los Angeles last night, and the stars were out in full force. A diverse group was on-hand, from the movies biggest stars to friends and curious onlookers like Dane Cook, Hugh Hefner, Ron Jeremy and Sylvester Stallone. Like I said, a wacky lineup. So it turns out Tinsel Korey wasn't the only Twitter-Wood resident sporting love for the Vancouver Canucks during their Stanley Cup playoff face-off against the L.A. Kings. Jason Reitman was celebrating the series' end as well last night on Twitter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was also in high spirits today, mostly thanks to Hugh Hefner, who came in at the last minute with a giant donation to save the land around California's iconic Hollywood sign. Then there was Edgar Wright, who hopes to be happy after he sees "Iron Man 2," but for now he just sounds a bit anxious. Check out those tweets, as well as Malcolm Ingram's micro-review of Kevin Smith's "Hit Somebody" script and Dane Cook's dreams of collaborating with Jim Carrey in Twitter-Wood for April 26, 2010. Cary ElwesEarlier this year, "Saw VII" screenwriter Patrick Melton predicted that the horror franchise's seventh installment would be the last outing for the nefarious Jigsaw. While that remains to be seen, there's no arguing that the series is coming full circle thanks to the return of Cary Elwes as Lawrence Gordon, the one-footed doctor at the center of the first "Saw."

"Saw" fans have long clamored for further elaboration on Gordon, whose fate (and foot) were left hanging in the balance at the conclusion of the initial "Saw" movie. While we're sure to receive some answers when the film hits theaters in October, we can already start puzzling out some of the pieces based on previous comments from Elwes and what's already known about "Saw VII."
