Twitter-Wood reaches over to the U.K. as well as well as the U.S., and Nick Frost was none too thrilled with the airspace closures there that were caused there by the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland today. As it turns out, Neil Gaiman was personally affected as well.

Elsewhere on Twitter, it was big day for pictures. Juliette Lewis posted a shot from a Them Crooked Vultures concert she attended, Michael Chiklis' dog tried to drive a car, and Tom Felton shared a shot of himself supporting the Robin Hood Tax. Have a look at them all after the jump where you will also find out who got to check out a Project Natal demo for the Xbox 360 and where Miranda Cosgrove showed up for a photo shoot. It's all in Twitter-Wood for April 15th, 2010. Read More...

Brad Pitt-- "Sherlock Holmes 2" screenwriters Michele and Kieran Mulroney have commented on the long-standing rumors of Brad Pitt playing Professor Moriarty in the sequel. "We're gigantic Brad Pitt fans," said Michele. "I think he's a brilliant actor and a particularly brilliant character actor. And certainly the role that you're talking about of Professor Moriarty is a big character to bite off. I hope Brad likes it. Let's leave it at that." [Collider]

-- "Shrek Forever After" is already slated for a 3-D release, and now DreamWorks Animation plans to give the first three movies the same treatment in a special 3-D Blu-ray Disc release. It's a sad day for metal fans. Peter Steele, the frontman for Type O Negative, is dead at 48 from an apparent heart failure. The goth-metal band formed in the early '90s and they were a fixture for me at parties throughout my time in high school. One of my close friends used to play the excellent Black Sabbath tribute album, "Nativity in Black," over and over again; Steele's take on Ozzy in "Black Sabbath" will forever be burned into my brain.

Type O was also a frequent contributor to horror films throughout the mid/late-'90s and early '00s. The most memorable for me is "Mortal Kombat," which featured the song "Blood and Fire (Out of the Ashes Remix)." Not exactly horror, but there are definitely shades of the genre there. Type O was also featured on the soundtracks for "Bride of Chucky," "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Freddy Vs Jason," as well as the "music inspired by" CD releases connected to "The Blair Witch Project" and "Private Parts," which featured a collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne. There was news a number of years ago that "RoboCop" director Paul Verhoeven was hired on to helm a sequel to "The Thomas Crown Affair," which would see the return of original star Pierce Brosnan. Later, word emerged that Angelina Jolie would star opposite Brosnan. Then... nothing. No word, no developments. Nada. So when Verhoeven stopped by the newsroom earlier this week to promote his new book, "Jesus of Nazareth," MTV's Josh Horowitz asked for an update on the long-in-development project.

"No, I am not [involved] anymore," Verhoeven said. "Things happened there, the regime changed. The initial ideas that they had about 'Thomas Crown 2' were interesting I thought. There was a script written by two young writers that used the fact that now we're living 15, 20 years later." Read More...

April 15. The worst day of the year if you live in the United States. TAX DAY. Everyone likes to talk about "seeing your tax dollars at work." It all stems from today, when many of us mail off checks to Uncle Sam in exchange for the comfort of knowing that IRS debt collectors won't come a-knocking with their baseball bats and their dreams of breaking your kneecaps.

Okay... the IRS doesn't do that. Anymore. As far as we know. But they do want your money. Taxes are a fact of life. And sure, they keep all sorts public amenities running smoothly (mostly). Paying for them every April leaves many of us short on money however. That's where this blog comes in. I'm here with a few horror movie suggestions, movies that can be watched free of charge online, compliments of the always-wonderful Hulu. Note that most of these are for mature audiences, so you'll need an account in order to view them. Read More...

Earlier this week, MTV's Josh Horowitz had the rare privilege of speaking with screen legend Robert De Niro. The subject for much of the conversation was the Tribeca Film Festival, New York City's annual celebration of film which the actor co-founded in 2002 as a way to aid the recovery of the once-vital neighborhood. Josh did get to probe De Niro with a few questions about upcoming projects. He mentioned one particularly intriguing adaptation he's been working on with Martin Scorsese, called "The Irishman," which could have a unique twist that hearkens back to one of the director's great influences: Federico Fellini.

"It's based on a book called 'I Heard You Paint Houses.' It's a very simple, terrific story about [mobster Frank Sheeran], who supposedly killed [Jimmy] Hoffa and Joe Gallo and so on," De Niro said. The story might be simple, but the plans that the actor is cooking up with Scorsese are anything but. Read More...

Jake T. Austin is a busy guy. Not only is he making films and working on the popular Disney show “Wizards of Waverly Place,” but he’s developing a passion project of his own. While promoting his latest feature, “The Perfect Game,” Austin took some time to discuss his future plans, which includes a "Stand By Me"-inspired story called "Kings of Suburbia."

"I’m writing a film [that is] kind of like ‘Stand By Me,'" he said, referring to the 1986 buddy drama starring Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman and Jerry O’Connell, which was itself adapted from a Stephen King novella. “It is my favorite movie. [My own project is] based on a true story about my cousin... growing up in sort of a rough neighborhood in Florida.” Read More...

A report surfaced early yesterday that Summit Entertainment went in for some re-shoots on "Eclipse," director David Slade's adaptation of the third chapter in the "Twilight" franchise, which hits theaters on June 30. The studio was quick to address the report, which came as distressing news to many fans of the vampire franchise. "The re-shoot was planned for months, like it is with the majority of films," they said in a statement. For more on this story, check out Larry Carroll's full report on MTV.com.

Don't get me wrong. "Tron Legacy" looks many different kinds of badass. The debut trailer is nuts, filled with awesome CG work and multiple layers of fan service. And Disney has pulled off some really cool viral stunts, including the recent WonderCon showdown.

Even the new viral teaser for Encom's "Space Paranoids Online" is pretty slick... for 2004. I'm still totally gung-ho for "Tron Legacy," but if Encom hopes to make waves with the present-day gamer population, they're going to need to step up their production staff. "World of Warcraft" and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," the reigning champs in the online arena, have "Paranoids" totally beat on the visual presentation front.

Of course, "Paranoids" features Recognizers. I'd cough up a monthly subscription to shoot those things out of the sky.

Check out the teaser right here.
