We’ve seen veterans like Jeff Bridges, Christopher Walken and Burt Reynolds launch hugely-successful second acts in recent years, reminding fans that they’re talented folks who’ve survived decades in Hollywood and aren’t above laughing at themselves every now and then. But don’t be surprised if the next post-fame comeback is engineered by none other than… Crispin Glover?

A teen star turned blockbuster actor turned indie actor who has found himself at times ostracized by Hollywood, the 45-year-old recently celebrated the biggest opening of his career in Tim Burton’sAlice in Wonderland.” Having seen “Hot Tub Time Machine” recently, I can tell you that he steals every scene he’s in.

But that doesn’t mean he plans on giving up the eccentric, fiercely independent films he’s been making over the last few years.

“My next project is one I’m planning to do at my property in the Czech Republic that I bought six years ago,” revealed Glover, who has spent the last few years filming and touring in support of his surreal movies “What Is It?” and “It is Fine. Everything is Fine!” “There are horse stables next to this chateau that I bought that was built in the 1600s, and in those horse stables I’m making a small sound stage; it’s ready right now to start building sets.” Read More...

This morning's Daily TwitPic has something for everyone. Twilighters can take pleasure in the fact that their favorite franchise gets a pop culture shout. Lovers of comedy can appreciate the look of raw excitement on Aziz Ansari's face at the sight of a "New Moon" werewolf. And let's face it: everyone can enjoy Ansari. The dude is hilarious, even when he's ranting about IMAX injustices.

That pretty much sums up your twitpic for this morning. Ansari can't believe what he's seeing in "New Moon," that "those kids are wolves!" He apparently missed the trailers. And TV spots. And bajillion stills scattered across the Internet. Or maybe he's just playing up his excitement, for the sake of comedy. Yeah, more likely that. Read More...

Lee Daniels might not have picked up his own Oscar statue at last week's 82nd annual Academy Awards ceremony, but his 2009 gutpunch "Precious" has left people wondering about what's coming next. It's already known that he's doing a Civil Rights-era drama called "Selma," set around demonstrations arranged by Martin Luther King, Jr. in the titular Alabama city in 1965. We also recently heard from Lenny Kravitz that he'll follow up his "Precious" role with a juicier one in "Selma," politician and King collaborator Andrew Young.

Now there's news that Daniels has found his King: David Oyelowo, who played Dr. Junju in "The Last King of Scotland" and who we'll see later this year in the George Lucas-conceived story of World War II's Tuskegee Airmen, "Red Tails." The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, and it sounds like Oyelowo is locked in for the role. Read More...

There's admittedly not much news to report here, but it's about as first-hand as sourcing gets. Ian McKellen, who of course plays Gandalf in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and in the upcoming two-part telling of "The Hobbit," knows all sorts of things that we don't. Like the hidden secrets of "The Hobbit" script. And, hell, the script itself.

In the first news update of the year on McKellen's official website, the actor does share one interesting fact about "The Hobbit": shooting kicks off in New Zealand in June, and it will take more than a year. A few more tidbits: the script isn't finished but it "proceeds," casting is happening now in New York, Los Angeles and London, and the story will feature "old and new friends."

Also, director Guillermo del Toro is living in New Zealand now.

Jamie Chung saw this coming a week ago. A 4.4 earthquake hit Los Angeles this morning, and I though she didn't seem to notice on her account, it registered with other faces in Twitter-Wood like Samm Levine, Alison Brie and Tyrese Gibson.

Aziz Ansari probably slept through it, though, as his recent postings indicate he was up late watching the "Twilight" movies. You can check out his reaction to a "New Moon" spoiler below. After the jump, you can also read Fred Durst's manicure advice for Tyra Banks and a tip for Best Buy from Steve Agee. It's in Twitter-Wood for 16th, 2010. Read More...

Last June, MTV News traveled up to Vancouver to visit the set of "Tron Legacy," Disney's 3-D stand-alone sequel to the 1982 sci-fi classic. Along with a select group of journalists, we toured the set, talked to cast and crew and immersed ourselves in all things "Tron."

A studio-imposed embargo has now lifted and we can bring you the first of our interviews. Here's some of what the film's star, Garrett Hedlund, had to say.

Question: You get to do a lot of physical stuff too in the film?

Garrett Hedlund: Yeah, initially when we started this, I started the first week in January. Started with motorcycle training and getting my license and after the hour and a half of motorcycle training, I'd drive over to 8711, where the stunt coordinator David Leitch — that's his compound. And so we'd do the fight training there. We'd do, you know, parkour sort of exercises and jumps. And do that for an hour and a half and a lot of hand to hand combat. And then trained with the trainer [Matthew] Logan Hood who sort of trained all the "300" guys for [producer] Jeff Silver. And trained with him for an hour, intensive training so. The two months of that felt like I'd already filmed the film, you know? Read More...

FROM MTV.COM: "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Peter Facinelli have told MTV News that their ideal director for "Breaking Dawn," the still-announced adaptation of the final volume in the vampire series, would be two-time Oscar-nominated director Gus Van Sant. An Entertainment Weekly report on Tuesday suggested that Van Sant ("Milk") is in fact one of three high-profile directors who have been approached to helm the film, along with Sofia Coppola ("Lost in Translation") and Bill Condon ("Dreamgirls").

Now MTV News has received exclusive confirmation about the development from Kristen Stewart herself. "I'm glad that's out and about," she said about the outreach to the directors. "I didn't know that was something that people knew."

Rebecca MaderThroughout the history of "Lost," long-dead characters have had a tendency to reappear, whether through ghostly visions, flashbacks and now, in its final season, flash-sideways'. In the first handful of new episodes, fans were reacquainted with characters such as Charlie Pace and Boone Carlyle, and we know that there are going to be other future appearances as well from the likes of Michael Dawson and the enigmatic Libby.

Now, you can add another name to the list — Rebecca Mader is returning as Charlotte Lewis. Read More...

This Friday, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning will hit the big screen as Joan Jett and Cherie Currie in a dramatized telling of classic girl-rock band, The Runaways. I haven't had the opportunity to see it yet, but I hear that's it pretty good, and mostly Fanning's show. It's opening in limited release this weekend so not everyone will be able to catch it, but I intend to.

The Runaways certainly aren't the first band to get a biopic, nor will they be the last. So I'd like to now submit a few others for Hollywood's approval, bands and/or musicians with fascinating stories that could and should be done great justice with a big screen telling. Read More...

You can learn some pretty neat things by way of movie news. For instance, I knew nothing about butter sculptures until reading about a new film titled "Butter," which is set in this world of dairy art, an American tradition going back at least to the 19th century. According to Variety, Jennifer Garner, who is also producing the comedy, will co-star as an ambitious butter sculptress from the Midwest who goes up against a 12-year-old newbie carver in a local contest.

The young African-American challenger has not yet been cast, but Vulture has learned both Jim Carrey and Kate Hudson are in talks to join the film. Carrey would reportedly play Garner's character's husband, described as a "philandering, Bill Clinton-esque repeat sculpting champion." Oh yeah, and that Presidential comparison fits because apparently "Butter" is really about the 2008 primary race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Hudson's role would be that of a kind of Monica Lewinsky "paramour." Read More...
