Last week, an odd-yet-exciting bit of news emerged that Peter Farrelly and longtime collaborator Charles Wessler are pulling together a sketch comedy movie in the vein of classics like "Kentucky Fried Movie." The news in and of itself qualifies as "interesting," but it amps up quite a bit when you look at the confirmed cast and oddball lineup of sketch directors. I won't list them all here -- click the link above for that -- but rest assured, it is massive.
One of the names on that list is Gerard Butler. I mention him specifically not just because we talked to him, but also because he went into great detail on how he fits into the untitled ensemble.
"I play the most perverse, disturbing, disgusting, foul-mouthed leprechaun you could ever imagine," he said. But wait... it actually gets even better.
"I've been kidnapped by Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott so they can get their pot of gold. They don't really quite realize what they've bargained for. They land themselves in a bit of trouble."
I know what you're wondering. How on Earth will the buff star of action flicks like "300" possibly pull off playing a leprechaun? The magic of technology, of course!
"It's funny because we're using that technology from 'Benjamin Button' — what's the politically correct term? A little person? — and they're going to put my head onto the little person," Butler said. "It's very funny. It's insane."
And before you start thinking that this is all some elaborate St. Patrick's Day prank, stop. This is actually happening. "It's for real. You have to see it to believe it."
What does this reveal do for your interest in the Farrelly-engineered sketch comedy flick?
