After an exciting two weeks, the 2010 Winter Olympics ended last night in Vancouver. A big group of prominent Canadians came out to honor the Olympians, including William Shatner, Michael J. Fox, Neil Young, Alanis Morrisette, Avril Lavigne and others. The best appearance goes to Catherine O'Hara, who pops up in every Chris Guest mockumentary and who you might also remember as the snobby mother from "Beetlejuice." She most recently voiced the Wild Thing, Judith, in Spike Jonze's 2009 adaptation of "Where the Wild Things Are."
O'Hara's closing ceremony entrance was preceded by a pair of broom-wielding curlers. For those who don't know, curling is that unusual Winter Olympic sport involving a handle-topped hunk of granite, a long sheet of ice with a target at one end and a bunch of brooms. It's sort of fantastic; "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe told MTV that watching it is like "you're being hypnotized." O'Hara's entrance isn't so much hypnotic as it is funny. Just watch... you'll see.
OOPS: It seems that the embedded video in question for some reason points to a set of "Avatar" clips. You can check out the O'Hara video right here.
