Worlds are colliding, dear readers. Literally. The "Avatar" craze is getting out of hand. A couple weeks ago, Twitter-Wood staple Larry King shared a twitpic of himself in Na'vi blue. Now, other celebrities are joining the craze.

The latest is celebutante Paris Hilton. Unlike most Na'vi, who wear their long black hair in braids -- the better to protect the neural whip which allows them to join with fellow Na'vi and Pandora's flora/fauna -- Paris somehow managed to keep her golden locks. And I can't imagine the primitive Pandora people wearing a dress like the one she's got on. It's an otherwise impressive transformation however. I think this calls for "The Simple Life: Pandora Edition." Read More...

Just one more week. Next Friday, Tim Burton's long-awaited "Alice in Wonderland" arrives in theaters. And yet, amidst the barrage of promotional materials Disney has been assaulting us with, there hasn't been an actual clip to see outside of trailers.

That all changes today. In the video below, Alice (Mia Wasikowska) eats a little too much of the White Rabbit's cake, causing such a dramatic growth spurt that her clothes are ripped off. You'd think the girl would realize on her repeat trip to the fantasy land that indulging in Wonderland's pastries can be a dangerous proposition.

Despite reports to the contrary, director Mike Newell was never in talks to direct a Johnny Depp-starring adaptation of "The Lone Ranger."

"They've never talked to me about 'The Lone Ranger,' " Newell told MTV News recently.

But that doesn't mean he's not aware of the Disney project — Newell's latest effort is the Disney-backed "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" — nor that he would turn it down if Jerry Bruckheimer came calling. Read More...

DESCThe waters are heating up as Disney prepares for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," the upcoming fourth installment in the high seas adventure franchise. Johnny Depp is back for another turn as Captain Jack Sparrow, and this time, he has a new nemesis in tow — none other than Blackbeard himself.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ian McShane is in negotiations to play the villainous Blackbeard in the fourth "Pirates" film. McShane would join the previously cast Depp and Penelope Cruz for an adventure that centers on the Fountain of Youth. Read More...

"There is no John McClane." That's what "Cop Out" star Bruce Willis cautions MTV's Josh Horowitz to remember when the subject of that iconic "Die Hard" character comes up. And then he dropped the bomb: "I think we're going to do a 'Die Hard 5' next year."

"The John McClane that exists is only in film and in people's minds. And it continues to grow, that mythology continues to grow," he explained. "Die Hard" exploded onto screens in 1988. Almost two decades later, in 2007, a fourth movie in the franchise was released, much to the delight of fans. It seemed almost too much to dare believe that there might be another one... until Willis confirmed just that. Read More...

Olympic ice hockey had Canadians and American alike tweeting last night, and Canadian Twitter-Wood ambassador William Shatner was among them. The epic win by the U.S., as well as a few other spectacular matches from the day showed up in posts, including a short conversation between Jim Carrey and Michael Chiklis, and it turns out Carrey is a big admirer of Russia's Alex Ovechkin.

There's been drama off the ice in Vancouver as well, though, as the son of Shatner's former "Star Trek" co-star Walter Koenig has been declared missing there. LeVar Burton and Wil Wheaton both tweeted some links to help get the word out about Andrew Koenig, who hasn't been heard from since February 14th. Find out out more about Koenig, as well as what "Moon" director Duncan Jones is moving on to now and what kind of pet Jessica Simpson is thinking about adopting. All such information is retweeted below in Twitter-Wood for February 22nd, 2010. Read More...

Last year at Sundance, I caught a great Iraq War-era set film called "The Messenger." It was the tail end of my trip and I was in such a movie overloaded haze that I didn't really know what I was getting into.

"The Messenger" tells the story of two American soldiers who are stationed on home soil and tasked with delivering death notices to the families of those killed overseas. It opened late last year at the height of the awards season rush, faring well with critics and eventually picking up a pair of Oscar nominations: Woody Harrelson for Best Supporting Actor and co-writers Oren Moverman (who also directed) and Alessandro Camon for Best Original Screenplay. With the annual awards show just a few short weeks ago, we got some time today to speak with Moverman and Camon about the originals of their atypical war story and the process by which it all came together." "Everybody's Fine" brings together a doozy of a cast for a drama starring an older widower (Robert De Niro) who sets out to reconcile with his estranged children. Rounding out the cast are no less than Sam Rockwell, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Melissa Leo.

The film hits store shelves this week, and we have a pretty cool exclusive from the bonus features. In our clip, Paul McCartney discusses his Golden Globe-nominated original song from the film, and even takes to the piano. Check it out.

Sylvester Stallone has been nominated for 29 Razzie awards, dishonoring his career as an actor, director and screenwriter. Of those, he's "won" ten, including Worst Actor of the Decade (1980s) and Worst Actor of the Century (20th). Now he's expanding his reach to Indian cinema, having appeared as himself in a recent Bollywood production titled "Kambakkht Ishq" (aka "Incredible Love" or "Damn Love"), which has earned eight nominations, including one for Worst Film, for that film industry's equivalent of the Razzies, the Golden Kela Awards.

Also appearing in the same film, about an Indian stuntman in Hollywood, is Denise Richards, who received a Worst Supporting Actress Razzie for "The World is Not Enough" (she was also nominated with Pierce Brosnan for Worst Screen Couple after that James Bond installment). It would seem the two Razzie vets are mucking things up in Bollywood now. Together, they are nominated for something called the "Baawra ho gaya hai ke Award," which The Hollywood Reporter loosely translates as the "Have You Lost It? Award." Read More...
