If there's anything that can be said of Matt Damon, it's that he's got range. Okay, there are a lot of things that can be said about him. But he does have range.
He's been a a super-spy, a famous soccer player, a crooked cop, a writer of fairy tales, a con man and so many more. The news today is that he's possibly going to be playing a politician. A real-life politician. Robert F. Kennedy. Has there ever been a more perfect bit of casting? Read more...

Some people feel the need to apologize for having an ego, a sense of swaggering self-love, for being an asshat. Not me. Not after what is surely my star-making turn in "The Crazies," the horror remake about a town overrun with a government bio-weapon that drives its citizens to murderous insanity (out this Friday, February 26).
Allow me to explain. Last spring, the folks at Overture Films called up and asked if I might like to fly down to Georgia for a juicy "Crazies" role. My first thought? "It's about damn time!" Granted, it'd been a while since my last thespian turn, somewhere around the age of seven when I debuted as the male lead in "The Woodcutter and his Wife." But I knew I had what it takes to become a Hollywood star.
And as I settled into my scene opposite Radha Mitchell, as I vomited fake blood and she screamed like a mad woman, I knew a Hollywood star I would soon become. Check out the video to get the full story of my journey from MTV Movies writer to future Oscar-winning actor and tabloid fixture. Internet, I am ready for my close-up...

WOW. Ice-T is clearly a man of refined tastes. The rapper, "Law & Order: SVU" star and Twitter-Wood fixture doesn't just appreciate the finer things in life. It's the finest, or nothing at all.
Ice recently took a break from his obsessive video gaming -- I can totally relate -- for a night out on the town. Wherever it was that he ended up, they specialize in high-end beverages. The drinks menu was so overwhelming that a picture had to be snapped and shared with the Twitter-loving Internet. Ice clearly states that he doesn't drink. And who can blame him, with prices like these? What's the most that you would pay for champagne? $14,200? Read more...

Before Christmas, director Mike Newell had essentially finished work on "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," and now all that remains before its May release is to select a song for the end credits (he's leaning toward a very well-known female artist). With that mammoth effort largely behind him, Newell has been able to turn his attention to new projects, one of which is an adaptation of "The Terminal Spy," a nonfiction book about the death of ex-KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko, who was suspected of having been assassinated by his former Russian bosses in 2006.
In a recent interview with MTV News, Newell revealed that he already has a draft of the script finished, is in the midst of casting the lead role, and envisions the film as part action thriller, part paranoid political drama. Read more...

Episode Title: "Lighthouse"
Written By: Carlton Cuse & Damon Lindelof
Story: Hurley (Jorge Garcia) is once again visited by the late Jacob (Mark Pellegrino), who tells the unlucky lottery winner that he has to visit a lighthouse on the island — and he has to bring Jack (Matthew Fox) with him. Elsewhere on the island, Claire (Emilie de Ravin) proves to Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) just how far off the deep end she is thanks to her trusty axe and a little bit of help from her "friend."
In the sideways reality, Jack attempts to locate his father's missing body, but he resolves a different family issue instead — an issue that's quite surprising for the viewers back home. Read more...

With so many sports being played at the Vancouver Winter Olympics, it may be hard to decide what to watch. Thankfully, Rainn Wilson covered curling, Jeremy Piven and Richard Kelly contemplated ice dancing, and Peter Facinelli broke down bobsledding in the Twitter-Wood feed today, I think NBC would be well served to bring any of them on board.
In other news, Brian Lynch predicted the immediate consequences of Walmart buying download movie service Vudu, and sometimes I can't decide if he's being sarcastic or serious. You can judge for yourself after the jump and find out who ate dinner with Robert Englund and flew on a plane with Quentin Tarantino. It's all documented in Twitter-Wood for February 23, 2010. "Killer." It's a simple, direct and effective word that cuts straight to the point, presumably through your guts. It's also the name of a movie coming out courtesy of Hyde Park Entertainment and Parkes/MacDonald Prods., two companies that have teamed up to produce Kenny Golde's horror-minded spec script.
According to Variety, "Killer" focuses on a rogue police investigator who discovers a video left behind by the titular murderer. What follows is an intense cat-and-mouse game where the investigator is always several strides behind his intended target. Read more...

In what immediately seems an unlikely duo, Kevin James has been paired up with Vince Vaughn for that infidelity comedy I wrote about last month. According to Deadline Hollywood, the "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" star will play a man unaware that his wife is having an affair. Vaughn is his best friend, and he knows about the cheating, but he isn't sure if he should tell his buddy. And that moral dilemma is the foundation for hilarity in what will be Ron Howard's first true comedy in more than a decade.
While at first I thought the two actors clashed a bit, I have to be optimistic given that I just rewatched "Splash" over the weekend. That early Howard comedy brilliantly teamed up John Candy and Tom Hanks, who on paper might have also seemed an odd pairing. Actually, I can kinda see James and Vaughn as modern versions of Hanks and Candy's characters, respectively, only with swapped body types. And of course I'm sure the cheating wife isn't part fish (just part snake). Read more...

Producers of the upcoming vicious fishies flick, "Piranha 3-D," are positioning their film to become "Jaws" for the 21st Century. If an unsourced rumor floated on the Internet earlier this month is to be believed, the studio behind 1975's "Jaws" is determined to have their shark-infested-waters classic remade to become the "Jaws" for the 21st Century, possibly with Tracy Morgan in the lead role.
When we caught up with Mogan on the red carpet for his upcoming buddy-actioner "Cop Out," we had the opportunity to put the question to the comedian himself. Has Universal approached the "30 Rock" star with the idea for a new "Jaws" with Morgan in the role originated by Richard Dreyfuss (who just so happens to have a role in "Piranha")?
"Not yet," he replied. "Not yet." Read more...

You've heard about "The Tourist," right? A male traveler in Europe -- Johnny Depp's is the most recent name associated with the role -- is drawn into aiding a female Interpol agent (Angelina Jolie) in her pursuit of a French gangster who also happens to be one of her former romantic interests. Twist!
In the Spotted! photo below you can see Jolie relaxing on the set of "The Tourist" with a newspaper. Or is she? This is a highly trained agent after all; maybe she's scoping out a target and it only looks like she's reading the paper. We'll find out whenever this wacky project finally hits theaters.
