FROM MTV.COM: Never let it be said that Hollywood isn't a big-money business. Vanity Fair has compiled a list of the 40 top-earning film players of 2009, including directors, actors and producers. Writers could have a place on the list too, but everyone knows that they're not paid well enough to chart on something like this.
The top earner for 2009 was, unsurprisingly, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" director Michael Bay, who earned $125 million. Most of that came from "Transformers," the back-end profits, home-video sales and licensing royalties. A smaller chunk, $8 million, came from producing "Friday the 13th," "The Unborn" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street." An additional $1.5 million came from royalties connected to Bay's older films.
