If you watched the "Buried" trailer we posted an hour ago, then you know that there's more to the story than Ryan Reynolds' military contractor being buried alive in Iraq with nothing more than a cellphone and a lighter. He's actually a hostage, and he's supposed to use that phone to record a video for his captors. As you'll see in the exclusive clip below, they force him into complying by targeting someone close to him.
Looks like an intense flick. Commoners like us who are left at home will no doubt get a chance to see how director Rodrigo Cortés keeps the one-person, one-setting feature entertaining for the whole ride. You Sundancers won't have to wait so long; count yourselves lucky. Everyone else... enjoy the clip!

"Tron Legacy" can't arrive soon enough, right? The long-hoped-for sequel to Disney's groundbreaking sci-fi flick hits theaters on December 17 of this year, a CG-heavy, 3-D spectacle to rival 2009's year-ending juggernaut, "Avatar." Precious little has been revealed about "Legacy" thus far, but that's all going to change later today.
Director Joseph Kosinski took some time out of his busy schedule recently to chat with MTV at length about "Tron" and more, a participant in our "10 To Watch In 2010" interview series. The goods will show up later today on MTV.com, so stay tuned for some juicy details to finally surface!

What do you get when you throw Ryan Reynolds into a coffin with nothing more than a cell phone and a lighter, then bury said coffin somewhere in Iraq? You get "Buried," from director Rodrigo Cortés, which lucky Sundance goers will be able to catch this week. Those of us stuck at home will have to make do with this exclusive trailer. Don't worry though-- something tells me that we'll be seeing this one go wide sooner or later.
The plot actually thickens a bit with this trailer. We now know that Reynolds' character has an out, and that the phone is there for a very specific reason. Check out the trailer and see for yourself.

We spoke with "The A-Team" director Joe Carnahan recently at length about his upcoming summer blockbuster as part of MTV's week-long "10 To Watch In 2010" interview series. While we weren't able to get a full plot synopsis -- you'll have to wait until "The A-Team" hits theaters on June 11 for that -- we did learn a number of juicy facts about the movie that ought to please fans of the original TV series.
Do you want to know what the deal is with the merc team's iconic super-van? Or if there might actually be a fatality this time around (famously, no one ever kicked the bucket on the TV show)? How about those memorable musical montages? We've got answers to all that and more after the jump... so click on through and get your answers now! Read more...
FROM SPLASH PAGE: Edward Cullen and Bella Swan are big fans of each other. The eternally young vampire and the unassuming high schooler have a romantic connection that has been heavily chronicled in the pages of the massively successful "Twilight" novels and the even more lucrative film series.
But standard books and movies just aren't enough for the "Twilight" heroes and their fans, leading to the announcement of an original graphic novel from Yen Press — "Twilight: The Graphic Novel" will hit stores on March 16 with a first printing of 350,000 copies.
Entertainment Weekly has a preview of the graphic novel's cover and a page from the book that shows Edward and Bella alongside one another in science class.

"Up in the Air" is a masterpiece. "Avatar" is the rare film equally brilliant in the eyes of critics and audiences. "The Hurt Locker" reaches a raw emotional nerve unrivaled in the cinema. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
You can only heap on so much praise during awards season before your mind starts contemplating the polar opposites of 2009: the lazy, uninspired and just plain awful movies. Thankfully, the Razzies are here once again to pay tribute to the worst of the worst — and fans of "Twilight," "Transformers" and the Jonas Brothers seem unlikely to be amused. FROM MTV.COM: Spider-Man is caught up in a whole new kind of web — this one with an extra "B" — which could signify that his über-successful superhero franchise is back on track.
Marc Webb, the 34-year-old music-video director who recently made his feature-film debut with "(500) Days of Summer," was officially announced Tuesday (January 19) as the new name behind one of Hollywood's biggest franchises. Webb takes over for Sam Raimi, who recently abandoned plans to return with stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst for a fourth film about the web-slinger.

Jonathan Levine should be a bigger name by now. Unfortunately the filmmaker's only theatrical release in the U.S., the Sundance-winning drama "The Wackness," was underrated and under-seen. There's also his teen slasher flick "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane," which still hasn't seen a U.S. release. Some people in Hollywood must appreciate him though, because his name is regularly in the trades attached to different projects in development. The latest of these gigs is adapting Isaac Marion's self-published zombie romance novel "Warm Bodies," which he will also direct, for Summit Entertainment.
The "Twilight" distributor seems an appropriate place for the adaptation, which The Hollywood Reporter acknowledges sounds like a cross between the popular vampire franchise and the British zombie comedy "Shaun of the Dead." According to the tagline, "Warm Bodies" is about a zombie who befriends the human girlfriend of one of his victims. Apparently the relationship "transforms" him and his fellow undead, though what that transformation entails remains a mystery. Read more...

This is as weird a Daily TwitPic as I've ever seen. You all know who Rainn Wilson is, right? Aside from being a Twitter-Wood staple, he's also the star of hit TV comedy the series "The Office." That's nothing compared to his latest project though. As we learn in today's Daily TwitPic, Wilson has gone and started himself a band.
Forehead is what they're called, a name which should be immediately obvious when you see the picture after the jump. Wilson nabbed himself some fine performers too. I see Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen Page, Michael Dorn -- in costume as "Star Trek" character Worf, on the tambourines -- and a nameless woman down in front wearing headphones. Can anyone identify her? The MTV Newsroom is stumped. Read more...

This one's just a brief public service announcement. Joel and Ethan Coen aren't fretting too much about their fantastic 2009 release, "A Serious Man," being criminally overlooked thus far during the annual awards season. They're too busy to worry about such trifling matters. Busy because their next effort, an adaptation of the Charles Portis novel "True Grit," has to be ready before the just-announced release date of December 25, 2010.
The book has been adapted before, in a 1969 film starring John Wayne and Glen Campbell. The brothers Coen have already told us that Jeff Bridges, recent winner of the Best Actor Golden Globe for his performance in "Crazy Heart," will take on the Wayne role of Rooster Cogburn, eyepatch and all. Last we heard, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin were in talks to join the cast as well, but there's been no official announcement on that front. Read more...
