FROM SPLASH PAGE: In the days since Marc Webb become the directorial heir to Sam Raimi's big screen "Spider-Man" franchise, online speculation has suggested Webb could turn to some familiar talent to fill the shoes—and the spandex—of Peter Parker: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whom he directed in "(500) Days of Summer."

On that particular rumor, Gordon-Levitt didn't have much to say when he stopped by MTV News' Sundance suite. Literally. The 28-year-old actor would only offer a series of shrugs and sly grins when the topic of taking over the role of Parker came up (hit play on the video and make of that body language what you will).

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Kristen Stewart's punk role in "The Runaways" isn't her only showing at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. She's also appearing in "Welcome to the Rileys," which sees the "Twilight" star as a troubled young stripper named Mallory who becomes a surrogate daughter to a grieving father played by "Sopranos" kingpin James Gandolfini. So naturally, we were curious whether Stewart thought her darker turn will surprise or shock her Twilighter fanbase.

As it turns out, Stewart says the most shocking part of her role is that it's really not that shocking.

It's Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival and the snow is getting just a bit ridiculous. We get it, Park City, it snows a crapload here...now bring out the blue skies! In lieu of warm mountain sunshine, the MTV Movies team will content itself with a jam-packed lineup of Hollywood talent and early peeks at some of the fest's most anticipated flicks.

Today's interviews include Kristen Stewart ("Welcome to the Rileys"), Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones ("Company Men"), Bill Murray ("Get Low"), Malin Akerman ("happymorethankyouplease"), Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Hesher") and Ryan Reynolds ("Buried").

In between these chats we'll be hitting screenings like Stewart's "Rileys," "Cyrus" (Jonah Hill, John C. Reilly) and Reynolds' "Buried." Then when the sky goes from gray to black and the Sundance parties start, we'll be there to take it all in. As always, we'll be bringing you updates throughout the day.

Story: Ahsoka Tanno (Ashley Eckstein) loses her lightsaber to a pickpocket during a routine arrest with Obi-Wan Kenobi (Matt Lanter) in the Coruscant underworld. Slipping away before her master discovers what happened, the young Padawan frantically begins her investigation. She finds help from Tera Sinube (Gregory Baldwin), a wizened Jedi whose placid, unhurried demeanor immediately clashes with the younger Force-user's anxious desperation. If you're even a casual observer of viral videos, you've probably seen James Franco and Mila Kunis' hilarious take on the cast of MTV's "The Hills." So naturally, with "Jersey Shore" now firmly entrenched in the pop culture zeitgeist, we were curious whether Franco would next turn his attention to the antics of Snooki and friends.

Award-winning filmmaker Lynn Shelton made waves last year at Sundance with her...shall we say unique bromance movie "Humpday." Now she's back as director of MTV's "$5 Cover" webisode series, which follows the trials and tribulations of thirteen Seattle bands.

Given Shelton's Seattle roots and her obvious commitment to rock and roll, we wanted to know how the town's music scene has evolved since it's famous days as the epicenter of the '90s grunge movement. Apparently it's changed a lot.

"It's a whole new landscape," says Shelton, saying the level of interest of record company scouts to Seattle in the '90s created a sort of in-it-for-the-money music mill. But now it's different. "The people that I've been working with -- and I know there are tons more -- are really doing it for the love of music. They're just so passionate about it." Read more...

Back in the spring, we revealed that Jack Black will be "stirring things up" in the upcoming big-budget adaptation of the classic fable "Gulliver's Travels." Well, now we can add an additional trait to Black's character...dancer.

That's right, at the Sundance Film Festival "Gulliver's Travels" co-star Amanda Peet dished on her upcoming role as Black's editor (and love interest) who follows him after he doesn't return from an assignment. While clearly thrilled with playing "a giant," Peet was most excited about a little on-set song-and-dance.

"I saw Jack Black dancing in playback. He gets to sing and dance and that was one of the great joys of my life," Peet exclaimed to MTV News. Read more...
