If you know nothing else going into this exclusive trailer for "The Last Rites of Ransom Pride," know this: you will see the words "gun-totin' dwarf" appear on the screen before the minute is over.

Sold yet?

An ensemble cast that includes Cote de Pablo, Lizzy Caplan, Scott Speedman, Peter Dinklage, Jason Priestley and the one and only Kris Kristofferson. I can't wait to see this thing, which hits as a digital download in early 2010.

Of course Neil Gaiman discovered a zombie. Who would you expect to find such a thing? This is the guy behind such freaky works as the "Sandman" comic book series, "NeverWhere," "Coraline," "MirrorMask" and more. You've gotta figure he already walks through his day seeing crazy s--t wherever he looks.

The only difference is that today he has photographic proof! Gaiman was out walking his dog the other day when he snapped a random picture of it in the snow, which he tweeted with the text "Walking the semi-invisible dog," as if he didn't notice the human hand protruding from the ground. Roughly 10 minutes later he re-tweeted the pic with the text "What hand...? Oh. That hand. I didn't notice." That's what happens when you make a living crafting rich, engrossing fantasy worlds. Hit the jump for some undead action in today's Daily TwitPic. Read More...

This has been a bad holiday season for untimely deaths around Hollywood, and none have been more unexpected than actress Brittany Murphy's on Sunday. Alyssa Milano, Peter Facinelli, Paris Hilton and virtually everyone else with a Twitter account associated with the entertainment industry has something to say about Murphy, and there's a rundown below.

The other big nationwide news of the past weekend has been the massive snowstorm pounding the East Coast. "Twilight" actress Christian Serratos was one of those who had her travel plans derailed by the frozen precipitation dump, on Washington, D.C. You can find those posts after jump along with Fred Durst's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" clan name and Neil Gaiman's undead lawn ornament. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for December 21, 2009. (Editor's note: You'll see some crossover between this post and our earlier Brittany Murphy tweet round-up. That's okay... this is a day to honor the young actress's memory.) Read More...

It's no secret that director James Cameron has been working for years to bring "Avatar" to the big screen. But now that it's in theaters, what can we expect from him next? There was a 13 year gap between "Titanic" and "Avatar," a period during which Cameron kept busy as a producer and documentary filmmaker but steered clear of the director's chair.

Like any true artist, however, his mind was always in motion. Cameron's got plans within plans, built on top of plans and ready to spawn new plans. There are a lot of ideas, a lot of potential projects that he could pursue next. And as much as he tries to avoid talking about what's to come when what's new and fresh is still on the table, he was kind enough before the release of "Avatar" to sit down and guide MTV's Josh Horowitz through some of what he's got cooking for the coming years. In 2002, stars Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar hosted the annual MTV Movie Awards. They were a bit nervous starting things off, so they called in a couple of their celebrity pals to help out, including Andy Garcia, Andy Dick and... Brittany Murphy. As we take some time today to remember Murphy's contributions to film and pop culture, we look back to this moment and remember a happier time for the actress, when she was fresh off the success of "8 Mile." Crack a grin as you watch this little bite from '02...

Earlier today, we brought you an early edition of Twitter-Wood packed chock-full of celebrity praise for James Cameron's sci-fi epic, "Avatar." It's a much more tragic set of circumstances that brings me back to you with another Twitter-Wood early edition.

"Clueless" star Brittany Murphy left us suddenly over the weekend, the victim of a heart attack at the too-young age of 32. The breaking news resulted in an outpouring of grief and sympathy for Murphy's family from around the celebrity Twittersphere. I'll let the people who knew her take it from here... Read More...

Last week, a pretty slick poster for Chris Nolan's mysterious sci-fi flick "Inception" emerged on the Internet by way of a browser-based game accessible from the movie's homepage. Well now there's a new one. Peep it (via ComingSoon):

I liked the first one more, but this is still pretty sweet. Summer 2010 can't get here soon enough.

Working at MTV News, you get to see some pretty weird stuff happen. MTV Movies managing editor Josh Horowitz has a particular knack for loosening celebrities up in interviews to the point that they say ridiculous things. Just browsing through the MTV video archives unearths a veritable gold mine of hilariously awkward moments. We've selected 10 of the most memorable of these, five of which you can check out today in the first part of MTV's Bizarre Interview Moments of 2009.

As a special treat, "Moon" star Sam Rockwell brought some of his clone pals from the sci-fi film's set to the MTV News offices for the sole purpose of putting on a little show for y'all. You have to watch it. Really. Just hit play. You'll see.

FROM MTV.COM: "You're a virgin who can't drive." With that one line in "Clueless," delivered in saucy mean-girl style, Brittany Murphy entered the pop culture history books. Fourteen years later, the 32-year-old actress died after suffering an apparent full cardiac arrest on Sunday morning. But before her tragic passing, Murphy left a string of memorable performances on the big and small screen.

Murphy got her start in Hollywood with a series of guest appearances on TV shows while still in her teens. " 'Murphy Brown' was a really big deal for me. That was my second day in L.A.," she told MTV News in 2006. And it wasn't long before the actress secured the plum role of ugly duckling Tai Fraiser in "Clueless."

As you all know quite well, "Avatar" hit theaters this weekend. And while celebrities have ways of finagling themselves tickets to official premieres -- I think there's a secret handshake or something -- plenty of them turned out to "slum it" with their adoring public for public screenings of the movie. Or at least, that's what it seems like based on the influx of tweets on our Twitter-Wood feed.

The tone has been mostly positive on the Hollywood insider front. Hell, last week superstar actor Ben Stiller appeared on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" with only one thing in mind: pimping James Cameron's sci-fi epic! "Oh, I'm here to talk about 'Avatar.'" he said. "I'm really excited about it, Conan. It's gonna be... it's just going to be an amazing movie." Hit the jump for more from celebs on "Avatar," fresh from the Twitter-Wood feed. Read More...
