You may remember that earlier this week we pulled a monumental fakeout when the second "Clash of the Titans" trailer made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance here on MTV Movies Blog. Well now it's officially on the Internet for one and all to see, and it's quite tantalizing. Don't take my word though; check it out for yourself. You can also head over to Apple for snazzy hi-def and iPod-friendly versions.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: By now, you've already seen the new "Iron Man 2" trailer, and you've probably checked out our shot-by-shot analysis of the "Iron Man 2" trailer, too. What you might have missed, however, is the importance of a few key scenes in the trailer that could say a lot about the film's plot and where Iron Man (and War Machine) could be headed after "Iron Man 2."

As usual, consider this your official SPOILER ALERT... because that's how we roll.

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Few literary tales are as bittersweet as the real-life story of author Stieg Larsson—the Swedish journalist who became a world-wide bestselling author only after his death in 2004. If you've wandered through a Barnes and Noble in the last couple of years, you've no doubt spotted the green and yellow-dappled cover of his mega-successful crime drama "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." Though a movie version of the book was released earlier this year in Europe, according to Variety, Sony has nabbed the English-language screen rights for the film with plans to produce it for an American audience.
The first novel and its sequels "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest” (known collectively as the "Millenium Trilogy") follow journalist Mikael Blomkvist and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander as they solve crimes in Sweden. A source Variety spoke with for its story called Lisbeth "one of the most compelling characters in contemporary fiction.” And it's true. She's intelligent, clever and doesn't take B.S. from anybody, which got us wondering who could bring this complex character to life. Thus, another edition of Hollywood Crush's Casting Couch!

For years, Todd Phillips –- arguably the best comedy director in the business right now whose name doesn’t rhyme with Bud Apatow -– was pestered by fanboys and film writers alike trying to get the deets on “Old School 2.” Now, the good news is that people seem to have finally stopped asking about a sequel to the Will Ferrell/Vince Vaughn/Luke Wilson hard-partying hit; the bad news, however, is that it’s because they’re all asking for the latest on the sequel to this past summer’s Bradley Cooper/Ed Helms/Zach Galifianakis hard-partying hit.
“Right now we’re figuring all that stuff out,” the affable Phillips responded this week when asked about a second installment of “The Hangover,” which hits DVD and Blu-Ray this week. “Don’t put me on the spot.” Read more...

FROM SPLASH PAGE: The mysterious viral marketing campaign for "Iron Man 2" is at an end — for now at least — with the final result being the world premiere of the movie's first official trailer.

Unveiled over at Apple, the "Iron Man 2" trailer provides our best glimpse yet at Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), War Machine (Don Cheadle), the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and more in the Jon Favreau-directed Marvel movie.
While today's earlier Entertainment Tonight teaser has already provided us with a healthy indicator of the movie's plot, there's truly nothing like seeing the real thing in all of its high-definition glory. Here are just a few of our favorite moments from the trailer:

I know you're excited for this one. "Arrested Development" star Alia Shawkat. "Halloween" reboot star Scout Taylor-Compton. "New Moon" notable Dakota Fanning. And "Twilight" princess Kristen Stewart. This crew comes together to form the all-female rock band The Runaways for writer/director Floria Sigismondi's biopic... "The Runaways." And we've got their first trailer, exclusively here on MTV. I get a strong Quentin Tarantino vibe from the way this is cut. What do you think?

If you've seen Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious Basterds," then you know (*spoiler alert*) that any captured Nazis the Basterds allow to live are scarred for life with a swastika carved into their foreheads (*end spoiler*). I'm not entirely sure what that has to do with this morning's Daily TwitPic, but I do find it ironic that it features one of the Basterds going under the knife himself.
Omar Doom, who plays the third Basterd charged with accompanying Bridget von Hammersmark to the premiere of "Our Nation's Pride" (Brad Pitt and Eli Roth being the other two), convinced someone to snap a picture of him at the dentist just as he was receiving his Novocaine injection. You can't blame the guy for having a cavity or two though... he did just return from fighting a war. Read more...

Roy Disney's death today was big news in Twitter-Wood, where a lot of folks have been affected by his work and commitment to animation over the course of their careers. It's certainly appropriate that "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich was among the first to post his condolences.
And speaking of animation, Danny DeVito made it onto the guest list for the "Avatar" premiere tonight, and took a picture of his excitable foot to prove it. His "Twins" co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger posted
pic, too, from over in Copenhagen where he's meeting with folks for the U.N. Climate Summit. You can click through all of those tweets after the jump where you'll also find out who may have cut actress Jenna Stern off and which musician/director is working on a new FunnyorDie.com sketch. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 16, 2009. Read more...

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: If the five seconds of Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart on screen together in "New Moon" weren't enough to tide you over, we at Hollywood Crush are happy to announce we will exclusively be debuting the very first "The Runaways" teaser trailer tomorrow at 9 a.m. EST! We know we're excited to have a first look at Kristen's acting, especially since it already got Joan Jett's approval.
But to show this post isn't a total tease, we also have for you the first look we've had at Kristen and Dakota together in the film (see it in full after the jump!), which hit the Internet yesterday. Although the movie is about the first band Joan Jett and Lita Ford made together, The Hollywood Reporter reports that the film is really about the relationship between Kristen's Joan and Dakota's character, Cherie Currie.
