FROM SPLASH PAGE: Natalie Portman has a lot to look forward to in Kenneth Branaugh's "Thor" film, which she's scheduled to begin production on soon as Jane Foster. Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Chris Hemsworth are all confirmed to be starring at her side, but Portman dropped a potential casting bombshell this weekend while promoting her new film "Brothers." "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" star Kat Dennings may have a role in "Thor" as well.
"Well I'm really excited," Portman told MTV News. "Kat Dennings is going to be in it with me and she's a good friend and an amazing actress, so I'm looking forward to that."

This weekend is a surprisingly big one for the movies, but let's talk about last weekend for a moment. More importantly, how it might inform this weekend. "New Moon" turned out to be pretty popular, didn't it? $140 million worth of popular, including record-breaking box office numbers for its midnight opening and Friday sales. So, on top of everything else opening this weekend, there's also that big, dark "New Moon" looming to screw everything up.
But what else have we got? Well the big one for a spectacle-junkie like me is "Ninja Assassin," directed by James McTeigue. There are shurikens thrown with gatling gun-like speed and rapidity, at least one limb severed for every minute of screen time and some wicked-looking choreography involving katanas and a kusarigama (the new nunchaku, you heard it here first). It's glorious. Maybe not fine cinema in the traditional sense of story, dialogue, etc., but a hoot to see in action on the big screen. I say this because I've seen it, and it was good. Read more...
FROM MTV.COM: The stars of "Twilight" can't wait for fans to see the saga's third film, "Eclipse," and with more than six months until the film is released, Twilighters are already salivating to see what happens next for Bella, Jacob and Edward on the big screen.
"I didn't know if ['New Moon'] was going to be any good, where I feel like 'Eclipse' is going to be epic," Jordana de la Cruz gushed to MTV News after catching "New Moon" on opening night. "And they kiss in it, Jacob and Bella!"

Did you know that Wes Anderson's adaptation of Roald Dahl's book, "Fantastic Mr. Fox," features scenes of intense action and graphic violence. Well it does. As you'll see in this exclusive clip, featuring the Fox kids Ash (Jason Schwartzman) and Kris (Eric Anderson) as they deal with a bully. A bully who isn't all that he's cracked up to be, apparently.
Check out "Fantastic Mr. Fox" when it opens wide this weekend. Assuming of course you're not going to see "New Moon" another half-dozen times.

FROM MTV.COM: Fans haven't gotten enough of "New Moon" just yet, but they're already hungry for tidbits on the next "Twilight Saga" flick "Eclipse," which opens next June. And the cast is eager to oblige by telling us about their favorite scenes from the third installment.
While Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are most focused on the film's intensifying love triangle, their co-stars can't wait for fans to see them get down and dirty.

I hope y'all are ready for a full day of "New Moon" coverage. Because it came out of the weekend with the biggest all-time records broken for midnight openings and Friday openings. And it's number three for top all-time opening weekends, behind "The Dark Knight" and "Spider-Man 3" (no, there's no accounting for taste with Spidey).
So let me make this absolutely clear for everyone: "Twilight" is officially everywhere. EVERYWHERE. And like the vampires it portrays, the franchise is starting to infect every facet of pop culture. Just take a look at our "Twilight" Takeover flipbook gallery to see for yourself.

And just so you know, that pic up there might be my favorite Photoshop of all time. BIG BIG BIG ups to producer Sohyung Kang for her fantastic work. Be sure to show your love by giving us a shout in the comments section below (and remember, you can sign in using your Facebook ID).

FROM MTV.COM: With even Kristen Stewart questioning Bella's alliance to Edward and with Taylor Lautner looking particularly beefy these days, it's no wonder die-hard Team Edward members are questioning their allegiance to the brooding vampire.
Some fans are switching teams altogether — so does that mean no one is on Team Edward anymore?
"I'm still Team Edward," Stephanie told MTV News early Friday after catching a midnight screening of "New Moon" in New York. "Die-hard."

Over the weekend, I put out a shout on Twitter for you to share your "New Moon" reviews with us. I saw it myself in a Saturday morning matinee. Which, I might add, was the most crowded I've ever seen a movie theater at 10am on a Saturday. And I go to lots of matinees. I'll have some thoughts to share on that later, but for now I'd like to let you all speak your mind (with minimal edits, for length and readability). So without further ado, here's what you readers thought of "New Moon"...
From reader "S": "New Moon" was fantastic. It was a hundred times better than Twilight in every way. Chris Weitz did a fantastic job bringing the book to life. Even my mother, who isnt exactly a twilight fan, admitted that the movie was pretty good. She was also impressed with all of the muscles that Taylor Lautner had put on
