Someone with a steady hand sent Sean Patrick Flannery a picture of the best "Boondock Saints" jack-o-lantern you're likely to see this year, and he retweeted in kind. There really wasn't any other choice for the Twitter Pic of the Day.

In other tweets, David Slade continued his "Eclipse" posting with a shot of one of the film's stunt co-coordinators and Rachelle LeFevre admitted to crying during "Where the Wild Things Are." Check out those post below along an old clip of The Ultimate Warrior that Aziz Ansari dug up, how Eliza Dushku feels about Dungeons & Dragons, who wants her at his table to play and how Ice-T is faring at "Borderlands" on his Xbox 360. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for October 27, 2009. Read More...

Not that you die-hard Twilighters need any reminding. I mean, let's be honest here: it's on at least a few of your calendars, right? For anyone who doesn't know, MTV's Ulalume Halloween Festival premieres this Friday, October 30 -- Devil's Night -- at 9pm ET/PT. In addition to musical performances from the likes of Paramore, AFI, Kid Cudi and more, you'll be able to catch a brand new clip from "New Moon." A clip that will be introduced by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

As if that's not enough, "Twilight" stars Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed will be on hand to kick off the show, stationed at one of the most notorious haunted houses in the country. Ashley Greene will also participate, dishing on rumors from around the celebrisphere. As for the promised still, you can see a wee bit of it up there on the right. Hit the jump to peep the whole thing. Read More...

Horror icon Robert Englund – the original Freddy Krueger of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” fame – is slashing his way back into action this week, just in time for Halloween, in a new web series called “Fear Clinic.” In the series, Englund portrays a maniacal genius named Dr. Andover who is obsessed with finding new ways to cure people of their greatest fears – even if it kills them.

Last night on “Attack of the Show” Englund spoke at length about his new character. “I’m kind of a misunderstood genius,” he explained. “But I did something bad in the states. I lost my medical license and had to do community service at a prison. Guess who I ran into – Kane Hodder, the original Jason! And I drag his hockey pucked ass down to my clinic south of the border.” Read More...

Richard Kelly is the man. Not just because he'll be here all this week, posting as a guest editor for MTV Movies Blog. It helps, sure, but we're talking about the guy who made "Donnie Darko" here. And "Southland Tales." Isn't that enough? Not for Kelly it isn't. His latest brain-twisting tale, "The Box," hits theaters on November 6. And he has a dynamite week of content planned for y'all, so sit back and enjoy!

With all of the hectic press and preparation for "The Box" (opening November 6!) – I have completely neglected the most important decision of the year.

Disclaimer: There's no way of telling if this item is real or not. The seller admits up front that he doesn't have a certificate of authenticity. He does say that one will presumably soon be incoming. He also expresses his willingness to hand-deliver the item anywhere in the world and his wish that it ends up in a museum. I somehow doubt that any of you readers will be ponying up to buy this item, but all of this should be mentioned nonetheless.

SO! "Michael Jackson's This Is It" is out this week. The premiere is tonight and the wide release hits tomorrow. Suffice to say, the world of pop culture has Michael Jackson on the mind right now. So it's only fitting then that eBay Prop-Watch puts the focus on him as well. If it's legit, today's pick is a very valuable piece of memorabilia. No need to keep wondering; hit the jump to see for yourself. Read More...

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski have signed on with Disney for a film adaptation of 2K Games' real-time strategy title “Shattered Union.” According to Variety, Mike Stenson and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films will also come onboard as executive producers. The duo is also attached to the upcoming film adaptations of "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" and “The Sorcerer's Apprentice.”

Originally released in 2005, “Shattered Union” is a turn-based tactics game that chronicles the second American Civil War following the nuclear destruction of Washington D.C. and the assassination of the President of the United States along with most of Congress. In the aftermath, several states secede and wage war against each other. Read More...

Wow. This looks awesome. I replied to one of our reader's comments earlier today, someone who expressed hesitation about Matt Damon potentially being cast in the Coen brothers' planned adaptation of "True Grit," a Western. I responded with the opinion that Damon is a fantastic talent, that he possesses the rare ability to fully inhabit the characters he portrays. I used to be iffy about the "Bourne" movies, but have since come around in a big way. So you can imagine how exciting "Green Zone" is, since it reunites Damon with "Bourne" director Paul Greengrass.

You're on board now, right? Looks like pretty compelling stuff. Action-packed, topical, Damon in action hero mode, Greengrass in blockbuster mode. March 12, 2010 is suddenly a long way away.

For most of you, Max Brooks needs no introduction. He wrote the novel "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War," which is currently on the road to getting a big screen adaptation with Marc Forster directing a script from Matthew Michael Carnahan.

Brooks was kind enough to take some time to chat with me a few weeks ago while he was promoting the Starz Inside documentary, "Zombiemania," which you can catch replays of this week (check your local listings for times). During the interview, I had to ask for a kickass zombie movies list to run with this week's special Halloween coverage. Brooks was more than happy to oblige, and he delivered quite a list. The last one in particular blew my mind, and I welcome anyone who's seen it to write in their reviews in the comments section below or @MTVMoviesBlog on Twitter. Read More...

Gears of WarIt's been a little while since we've heard anything about the impending "Gears of War" movie adaptation, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been movement going on behind-the-scenes. In fact, it looks like a new soldier has been recruited into the fold to battle the Locust Horde.

According to /Film, screenwriter Billy Ray has been tapped to work on the script for "Gears of War," which is currently pegged as a Len Wiseman directing vehicle. Ray's work on the screenplay comes hot off the heels of "Wanted" scribe Chris Morgan, the most recent writer attached to the project. Read More...

LostIt's bad enough that fans of "Lost" have had to wait since May (and continue to wait until January) for the show's final season to begin, particularly considering that the previous season ended with one of the most startling cliffhangers to date.

But just like John Locke, whose faith is constantly tested by the Island's mysterious ways, "Lost" fans are about to test the limits of their own patience.

According to Arts at Harvard, executive producer and co-showrunner Carlton Cuse recently revealed that "Lost" will still return in January as planned, but the show's final season will be interrupted by the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. The series' remaining episodes will resume following the Olympics' conclusion in February. Read More...
