Richard Kelly is the man. Not just because he'll be here all this week, posting as a guest editor for MTV Movies Blog. It helps, sure, but we're talking about the guy who made "Donnie Darko" here. And "Southland Tales." Isn't that enough? Not for Kelly it isn't. His latest brain-twisting tale, "The Box," hits theaters on November 6. And he has a dynamite week of content planned for y'all, so sit back and enjoy!

WHERE THERE'S SMOKE THERE'S ARCADE FIRE

On the night of September 20, 2007 - my producing partner Sean McKittrick and I went to see the now legendary Arcade Fire show at the Hollywood Bowl. My assistant Jeff Culotta (who has since been promoted to a production executive at Darko Entertainment) had arranged a meeting backstage with the band. Read More...

The quote above comes from Jackie Earle Haley, who will terrorize the nightmares of teens as Freddy Krueger in director Samuel Bayer's remake of the classic Wes Craven horror flick, "A Nightmare on Elm Street." It is a role that was previously brought to life by Robert Englund, who chews scenery with the best.

"You know, I think my Freddy is just a bit more serious," Haley told MTV's Vanessa White Wolf during an on-set interview. As fans well know, later versions of Englund's take on Krueger skewed heavily towards slapstick horror as opposed to overt creepiness. Read More...

The Daily TwitPic for this morning is very cool, one of those unusual works of short-lived art that you only see around Halloween. Some crafty fan of "Boondock Saints," the sequel for which --"Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day" -- hits theaters this Friday, took a blade to a pumpkin and carved out a loving tribute to the cult classic. The results are pretty outstanding. So much so that Sean Patrick Flanery re-tweeted the work out to his many followers.

If you're a fan of pumpkin art, be sure to keep reading Hollywood Crush all this week. Fans of "Twilight" have been challenged to take a crack at creating the best "Twi"-themed "Rob O'Lantern" that they can, with impressive results so far from finalists one and two. And of course, hit the jump right here to check out the crazy "Boondock"-themed work below. Read More...

Lots going on in this new poster from "Sherlock Holmes," directed by Guy Ritchie. The latest take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic hits theaters on Christmas Day, December 25.

You can see all sorts of crazy action happening in those little boxes on the side. There's Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong, who play Irene Adler and Lord Blackwood, respectively. I also see a dog, a bird, some keys and a gun, and a bottle of what appears to be poison. And of course Holmes (Robert Downey Jr) and Watson (Jude Law) in the middle of it all, cool and collected, as ever. Hit the jump for the full dealie. Read More...

3:28pm The carpet is quiet save for the fans who scream when news cameras point remotely near their faces.

3:40pm A guy is passing out sequined gloves to the fans in the bleachers.

3:44pm The "carpet" is actually interconnected red metal rectangles interspersed with white, light up rectangles a la the "Billy Jean" video! I've seen a lot of red carpets and THIS is cool, folks. I wish I had looked down 30 minutes ago. Read More...
