Richard Kelly is the man. Not just because he'll be here all this week, posting as a guest editor for MTV Movies Blog. It helps, sure, but we're talking about the guy who made "Donnie Darko" here. And "Southland Tales." Isn't that enough? Not for Kelly it isn't. His latest brain-twisting tale, "The Box," hits theaters on November 6. And he has a dynamite week of content planned for y'all, so sit back and enjoy!

LADY DIAZ

I first met Cameron Diaz on the set of "Charlie’s Angels" in the spring of 2000. I was being escorted into Drew Barrymore’s trailer by her producing partner Nancy Juvonen – at the time, I was there to convince Drew to play the English teacher in my crazy little script called "Donnie Darko."

Cut to October of 2001, at the premiere for "Donnie Darko" at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles – guess who showed up? Cameron Diaz. Read More...

FROM MTV.COM: For fans paying attention to the new "New Moon" TV spots that came out over the past week and a half, they would notice that the wolf Taylor Lautner's Jacob Black transforms into looks a bit different than the original wolf in the first teaser trailer.

Well, that's because it is different — about 500 times different.

"Every CGI shot goes through sometimes hundreds of iterations," director Chris Weitz explained. "Like, for instance, that first shot we put out was a work in progress. It was probably version 150 or something. That shot itself is now at version 550, I think."

DESCWell, that was fast. Barely a week since they were first rumored to be a part of the new "Mad Max" sequel, the news is official — Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy are joining the cast of the George Miller-directed film.

According to separate reports in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, both actors have signed onto "Mad Max: Fury Road," the fourth installment in the action-packed franchise. Read More...

For today's Daily TwitPic I needed to consult an expert. My taste in entertainment ranges all over the map. I love "The Simpsons" and "The Wire." "Survivor" is a weekly stop-in for me (AMAZING this season), as is "Fringe." "Star Wars" is my crack. But with all of those varied interests, I've never found the time to bring "Dr. Who" into my life, the longest-running sci-fi TV series in the world.

Luckily, MTV Splash Page editor Rick Marshall is a Whovian, the "Who" equivalent of a Trekkie (or is it Trekker?). So when I set eyes on today's TwitPic, Rick was the man I turned to for help. The salt shaker-looking thing pictured with James Moran ("Girl Number 9" writer/director) is called a Dalek. It is NOT a robot. It is in fact a member of a brutal alien race which Rick likened to outer space Nazis. Still looks like a salt shaker to me though. Enjoy the out of this world pic. Read More...

FlashForwardEpisode Title: "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps"

Written By: Seth Hoffman and Quinton Peeples

The Story: Agents Demitri Noh (John Cho) and Al Gough (Lee Thompson Young) investigate the bullet-filled ambushes from last week's episode, while Agent Janis Hawk (Christine Woods) recovers from her wounds in the hospital. Meanwhile, the hospitalized son of Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) — the man that Olivia (Sonya Walger) will leave Mark (Joseph Fiennes) for in her flash-forward — goes missing, leading to an awkward encounter. Elsewhere, Simon (Dominic Monaghan) reemerges, and he's not the friendly little Hobbit we're all used to. Read More...

"Twilight" actress Anna Kendrick has a clever friend who's not above impersonating an "Eclipse" actor to make out with unsuspecting prey, so next time someone walks up you at a club telling you they've been filming with David Slade recently, double-check IMDb. Slade, meanwhile, announced an "official" wrap to "Eclipse" filming yesterday, following last week's tweeted wrap by Christian Serratos.

Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, Rob Zombie noted the passing of former Danzig drummer Chuck Biscuits with a memorial post. The World Series had much of Twitter's attention as Ice-T captured a picture from the stands and Paul Feig pondered the art sunflower seed spitting. You can catch all of that, a Dalek and Emmy Rossum's Ferragamo dress fears after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for October 29, 2009. Read More...

It's been 10—count 'em, 10!—years since brothers Connor and Murphy McManus kicked off their quest to rid Boston of evildoers in director Troy Duffy's "The Boondock Saints," and now the city's vigilante duo are strapping on their guns (and rope) for the sequel to the cult-classic film.

"Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day" hits theaters October 30, reuniting actors Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as the McManus brothers, along with Billy Connolly, who reprises his role as their long-lost father (the mysterious and lethal "Il Duce"). Even with a decade between them and their debut as the McManus siblings, Flanery and Reedus told MTV News it was easy to slip back into character—as easy as putting on a pea coat and slinging some rope over their shoulders, in fact.

"You put on the pea coats and all that and it's sort of deja vu," said Reedus. "doing this film, the second one, is like coming back home in a way." Read More...

FROM SPLASH PAGE: A few weeks ago, Brian Bendis gave us an update on the "Powers" television series, announcing that a showrunner (Kevin Falls) and director (Michael Dinner) were on board for the project—though it has yet to be green lit for production.

When the hardworking writer/artist dropped by Splash Page recently, I got him to offer up a few more details about the live-action leap "Powers" is taking to the small screen, including how closely it will resemble the comics, the story arc that will kick it off and the general tone planned for the series.

"['Powers'] is in healthy development," Bendis told MTV News. "It's not green lit yet, but over the course of the last couple months, we got ourselves a showrunner, which is really big news for a show. It creates a more healthy environment for the show's development."

When J.J. Abrams took on directing duties for "Mission: Impossible III," he tried to get Martin Landau – who played super-spy Rollin Hand in the original '60s TV series – to take on a cameo role in the movie. "[J]ust for fun," the director said recently, "and [I] was told that he had no interest in doing it."

Now we know why. In an interview with MTV News, Landau said he has no interest in appearing in an adaptation of a franchise of which he's fiercely protective and which he feels is not true to the original series. "I'm not interested in doing that," he explained. "Let the young Rollin Hand live on." Read More...
