I almost can't take this news. The brothers Coen -- Joel and Ethan -- are among the best filmmakers out there. This isn't opinion; it is a fact, supported by such stellar efforts as "The Big Lebowski," "A Serious Man" and the Oscar-winning adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel, "No Country For Old Men." So when the news broke last month that they'd be directing a new take on Chris Portis' novel "True Grit," I was beside myself.

MTV's Josh Horowitz caught up with the duo later in September, in one of their only solo interviews of the Toronto International Film Festival. There they confirmed that Jeff Bridges, previously revealed to be playing Rooster Cogburn, would indeed be wearing his character's eyepatch, like John Wayne before him. "That'd be like doing Richard II without the limp," Joel said. He also revealed the source of the adaptation: "We’re not looking at the movie. It’s a great book. It’s a very funny book." I know the headline doesn't make a ton of sense, but gimme a break. It's punny. Like the Focker family name. Mission accomplished.

We've served up quite a bit of "Little Fockers" coverage so far. All the way back to the earliest rumblings that "The State" veteran David Wain might direct. Those plans ended up changing, with Paul Weitz (brother of "New Moon" director Chris Weitz) now at the helm. Laura Dern and Jessica Alba have also both since joined the cast.

"Little Fockers" is happening though, and the shoot is underway now. Not only does this mean that the movie is on track for its previously announced June 30, 2010 release date, it also means we can look forward to many more set pics. You'll find the first of them below the jump, in which stars Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro laugh at whatever shenanigans are unfolding in the scene being shot. Check it out after the jump. It has finally happened. The moment I've waited for ever since I was old enough to enjoy a hard-R action film — which was younger than I'd care to let my mother know, thank you very much — has finally arrived.

Sylvester Stallone. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Bruce Willis. On screen. Together.

The trio of iconic Hollywood action heroes united this weekend to film a scene together for "The Expendables," Stallone's long-awaited ensemble action epic. The writer-director-actor was able to wrangle both Willis and Schwarzenegger for smaller roles in the movie, and while we first broke word of this reunion a few months back, the actual filming has commenced — and based on the admittedly scarce details, this not-so-secret scene sounds pretty wonderful. I'm going to be completely honest with you Twilighters: there's not a lot of new footage to be found in this new TV spot for "New Moon." There might not be any, but I'll leave that puzzle for bigger fans than I to solve. Still, as a die-hard "Star Wars" fan, I completely appreciate the mad desire to see any drop of footage from an unreleased chapter, even if it is just a new wrapping on the same old material. Enjoy y'all.

FROM MTV.COM: It has been seven years since filmmaker Spike Jonze released a feature, but now he's suddenly flooding the market with content. In addition to the recently released "Where the Wild Things Are," Jonze also just premiered "We Were Once a Fairytale," a short film starring Kanye West and featuring the 808s & Heartbreak track "See You in My Nightmares." The film, which surfaced online on West's official blog last week (only to be taken down), casts the rapper as a troubled, chemical-addled star who goes to the bathroom at a club to exorcise his demons, only to literally pull a small beast out of his chest. It's a graphic, surreal, dreamlike production — one that fits both director and star perfectly.

"We rehearsed the night before we shot, and talked about trying to get to that raw place, that sad, pathetic, drunken, lost place," Jonze told The New York Times. "I told him the more shameless it is, the more pathetic it is, the better. He just went for it."

We viewers can't tell exactly what is so frightening in the below clip, the latest in our week of Halloween exclusives, from "The Fourth Kind," directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. Maybe Milla Jovovich can't either, but she at least knows it's "not an owl." Whatever it is, it scared the crap out of her. That scream is impressive.

It was 32 years ago that director Steven Spielberg introduced viewers to the "third kind" of extraterrestrial encounter -- contact -- in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." The title "The Fourth Kind" refers to the next stage in encountering aliens: abductions. The movie, based on fact, looks at a small Alaska town where a string of alien-related disappearances occurred.

I was never much of a horror fan as a kid. Growing up in the '70s and '80s, I was too young for movies like "The Exorcist," "Rosemary's Baby," "The Shining" and "The Omen," only finding them later in my life. No, I was a child of the '80s, and as such, my first exposure to horror was the movies of Wes Craven and Sam Raimi. But I had a problem with the genre—I just didn't understand why there had to be so much blood.

Last week's poll was strange, as it did not really reflect this weekend's box office. The bulk of you picked "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant," which saw an 8th place weekend finish and only $6.3 million in ticket sales. "Saw VI" was a close second, and that at least performed well in the number two spot with $14.8 million earned. But the big weekend winner was the low-budg horror flick "Paranormal Activity," directed by Oren Peli, which nabbed $22 million.

The success of this movie has been nothing short of staggering. Last week, with less than 1000 screens running "Paranormal Activity," the movie finished out the weekend at number three with $20 million in ticket sales. Peli's got some stiff competition this week however, as you'll learn soon enough in this week's Box Office Poll. Can found footage ghosts hope to topple a fond farewell to fallen pop star Michael Jackson? Read More...

In one fell swoop, my opinion of "Daybreakers" has shifted from "mildly interested" to "holy wow I want to see this now." Okay fine. I was more than mildly interested. The cast, which includes Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill is exciting on its own. And the poster we revealed a few weeks ago, featuring what appears to be a blood farm, is undeniably cool.

But the images we have for you today, part of an MTV Movies Blog week filled with awesome exclusives, seal the deal. Particularly the one you can see a snippet of right here: Willem Dafoe wielding a shotgun/crossbow and giving you the crazy eye. Kickass. The story follows a renegade group of vampires trying to restore humanity to a blood-sucker ruled world. January 8, 2010 seems very far away right now... Read More...
