"Eclipse" director David Slade is off in Canada shooting the third movie in the "Twilight" series, and he's been tweeting regular updates from the set. One of my favorites from him emerged yesterday: "Today, vampires talking, vampires kissing, rain stayed away. We had to battle the sunlight to keep our vampires from sparkling too much." Ha.

Slade also took yesterday's Twitter Pic of the Day honors, and with good reason. I challenge you to figure out what's going on in the blurry background, but today's Daily TwitPic portrait of a Panavision camera is at least an artful shot. You might not glean much "Eclipse" spoilerage from what you see, but you can certainly enjoy the view. Just think: Slade is bringing that same eye to his work on the movie, and you fans are going to be all the happier for it. Read More...

Paul Reubens, better known as Pee Wee Herman appeared on "The Jay Leno Show" last night. While that might not quite top Letterman's landmark Barack Obama interview from the night before, the first time a sitting president appeared on the nightly talk show, it's still pretty damn cool. The word of the day was apparently "abstinence ring."

Pretty cool to see Pee Wee here as opposed to Reubens. Nothing against the guy; he was hilarious in "Mystery Men" (yes, I said it). Pee Wee was a classic though, one who was prematurely cast from the limelight after a highly public arrest and scandal embraced his real-life alter ego. Read More...

-- Darren Aronofsky may be busy with "Black Swan" -- which sounds a lot like "Fight Club" with ballerinas to me -- but he's going to need something more grounded as a follow-up to 2008's Oscar-winning "The Wrestler." And here it is. The filmmaker has partnered with Time Inc. Studios and XYZ Films to direct/produce an "indie heist thriller" based on the 2006 robbery of the Securitas Depot in Tonbridge, England, in which thieves made off with roughly $85 million. (Variety)

-- Columbia Pictures has picked up the rights to Lucy Prebble's stage play "Enron," which chronicles the high-profile fall of the Texas energy concern. Prebble will adapt her script for film and Laura Ziskin will produce, though no additional cast or crew players have yet been revealed. (Variety) Read More...

When a hail of raining "Meatballs" earns box office gold over the likes of the bloody, sexy, Megan Fox-starring "Jennifer's Body," it's clear that summer is truly over. Fall is upon us now, meaning that the days of the big Hollywood blockbuster will have to wait until next May. In the meantime, there's plenty of other film fare to look forward to and plenty to look back upon.

Earlier today, our friends at Hollywood Crush devised a list of movies that take place in autumn, but such an array of films is a bit too subtle for my tastes. Just hearing the word "fall" is enough to get my wheelhouse churning, because there are so many movies that have the word in their title... some of 'em good, some of 'em not so much.

For your viewing pleasure, behold our five most memorable flicks with the word "fall" in its title. Yes, really. Read More...

"Twilight" was out in full force today in in the Twitter-Wood feed, with David Slade providing his usual posts -- this time with a behind-the-scenes pic -- and Ashley Greene joining her fellow "Eclipse" cast members by registering a verified Twitter account. Needless to say, she has been added to our follow list.

In non-"Twilight" news Tom Felton had a birthday today, and it sounds like he had a good time watching "Entourage" and hanging out at the beach. Elsewhere, Tyrese Gibson posted an old shot of himself with Tupac Shakur, and Elizabeth Banks explained a disturbing dream she had last night about Matthew Perry. Read them all below. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for September 22, 2009. Read More...

'Observe and Report'As we edge out of summer, the DVD release calendar is getting considerably more crowded than in weeks past. That's good news for movie fans, as studios offer up their blockbusters from earlier in the year, as well as a steady stream of catalog titles as we head into the holiday season.

This week kicks off with one of the most peculiar releases of 2009, Seth Rogen's "Observe and Report." Those expecting the straight-up comedy usually associated with the Apatow protégé should prepare for disappointment. Rather than offering the next "Superbad" (which Rogen co-wrote), "Observe and Report" (which he did not) is a twisted -- albeit comedic -- look at a mall security cop who doubles as a mentally unbalanced outcast with a hankering for weaponry. More than most, it's a love-it-or-hate-it proposition, but if this is your cup of tea then the DVD and Blu-ray offers up a healthy dose of extras. Those will HD players will receive picture-in-picture commentary from Rogen, Anna Faris and director Jody Hill, while both formats get nearly 30 minutes of deleted and extended scenes, various vignettes and a gag reel. Every now and then a movie comes along that delights millions, but ticks off just as many with its safe, non-threatening, seemingly formulaic plotline. I'm thinking back to “RV,” “Doctor Dolittle,” even the “Ernest Goes To/Saves [insert location/event here]” films that puzzled so many with their success back in the day. Well the latest in this tradition might just be “Wild Hogs,” a harmless trifle of a family film that employed big stars and scatological humor to attract $169 million worth of viewers in 2007. And now there's a sequel on the way.

Recently, at Disney’s D23 Conference, it was announced that the sequel had been titled “Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride” and that it would begin filming soon. So when I caught up with Tim Allen recently, I had to get the scoop on where he and his biker brothers would be heading next. Read More...

Today's eBay Prop-Watch pick was selected in honor of "Capitalism: A Love Story." Michael Moore's latest op-ed-in-motion, dealing with the ongoing financial crisis, the factors that led to it and the prognosis moving forward, hits theaters this Friday. The Prop-Watch pick actually has nothing to do with "Capitalism"; it is instead a bit of leftover coolness from the filmmaker's previous effort, "Sicko." That latex bit makes more sense now, right? Brothers Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson are frequently in the news for one reason or another, but it's a rare day that we reporters get to speak with the other Wilson brother, Andrew. He works in Hollywood, just like his siblings. He's had roles in "Fever Pitch," Mike Judge's "Idiocracy," "The Royal Tenenbaums," "Zoolander" and Drew Barrymore's upcoming directorial debut, "Whip It." He even co-directed 2005's "The Wendell Baker Story" with Luke.

Now, brothers Luke and Andrew are all set to direct together again. Speaking with MTV's Josh Horowitz while promoting "Whip It," Andrew revealed the first details on "Electric Avenue."

Hit the jump for more on this Wilson-driven project. Read More...
