A few weeks ago, we tried out this new video doodad with the trailer tease for "New Moon." It is essentially an in-video graphical overlay that allows users to comment on the video as it plays and review comments from other users.

Well the doodad is back and this time we're launching it for the trailer for "Michael Jackson's This Is It." So here's how it works. Watch the video. When it reaches a point that you'd like to comment on, click the Share button. From there you'll be asked to sign into your preferred social network, Facebook or Twitter, and make your comment. Whenever anyone watches the video thereafter, your words will be pegged to that timestamp in the video.

Simple, right? We're always looking for fun, easy ways to bring you readers into the editorial process. Here's one more. Enjoy.

Sam Raimi may be busy with "Warcraft" and another "Spider-Man," but that doesn't mean he can't throw his weight behind the odd cool project as a producer. And that's exactly what's happening, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Raimi is set to produce British director Corin Hardy's "Refuge" for Mandate. The horror flick will focus on the far-too-underused Yeti as an antagonist. The mythical giant mountain ape is a sort of Himalayan Bigfoot. In "Refuge," the Yeti will terrorize a remote town, presumably situated somewhere along the massive mountain range. Hardy will direct a script from fellow Brit Tom De Ville. Read More...

Way back in May, we premiered the trailer for the wonderfully named "Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus." In no short order, the trailer rocketed across the Internet, popping up on every blog under the sun and garnering millions of streams.

Well, now we're back with another treat. Direct from The Asylum -- the studio known for such fare as "Transmorphers: Fall of Man" and "Snakes on a Train" -- comes "MegaFault," an epic disaster film starring none other than "8 Mile" sensation Brittany Murphy and "ER" doc Eriq La Salle. The duo play a seismologist and a miner, respectively, racing to stop a giant earthquake that threatens to tear the world in half. Yup, Roland Emmerich has some competition on his hands. Check out the fury below, or click here to watch it in glorious high-def. "MegaFault" airs on the SyFy Channel on October 10, and hits DVD on November 24.

I’m not sure if you’ve learned this lesson from the past 70+ years of science fiction cinema, but here’s the deal: space is full of crazy crap that is going to try and kill you or at the very least mess with you. I know, I know-- Earth is too. The ocean is literally swimming with unfeeling monsters waiting to devour your assorted parts at the drop of a hat. And have you ever been in a densely wooded area? There are bugs waiting in there that are just as likely to masticate your life stuffs as there are giant friggin’ cats and bears. But nowhere on the planet compares to the vacuum of nothingness beyond our sun-orbiting rock. If sci-fi cinema is to be believed, that is.

This week’s "Pandorum" is merely the latest vision of extraterrestial beasties trying to kill and/or eff with us on their home turf. The good thing about sci-fi scares is that, like nature programming on TV, they act as a primer on what to watch out for if and when you find yourself in the drifting through the starry, endless night. Here are, by my reckoning, the five things in space you should always watch the hell out for. Read More...

From the sound of things, Disney's adaptation of the nearly hundred-year-old sci-fi series by Edgar Rice Burroughs, "John Carter of Mars," is going to start shooting as early as January of next year. The start had previously been pushed back from November. Pre-production continues to move steadily forward nonetheless on the hybrid live action/CGI film.

As co-star Lynn Collins told MTV's Josh Horowitz last week on the New York red carpet for "The Burning Plain," she's already seen workups of fight sequences she'll have to film and, last week, some initial effects work kicked into gear. Read More...

David Cronenberg is a filmmaker who knows how to properly employ gore. He is a master of body horror, a sub-genre focusing on the degeneration of the physical human form. Gore serves an artful purpose; the breakdown of the human body -- wrought by mutilation, mutation, disease or anything else -- is closely scrutinized for the purpose of creating fear in the viewer.

One of the classic examples of well-implemented gore in a Cronenberg film is "The Fly," a 1986 remake of Kurt Neumann same-titled effort from 1958. Jeff Goldblum plays Seth Brundle, a sort of mad scientist who metamorphoses into a humanoid fly after an experiment with a teleporter goes horribly wrong. It is a slow transformation, with Brundle shedding his humanity along with various body parts. Read More...

Yesterday was a big day for Pee Wee Herman fans. Paul Reubens appeared on "The Jay Leno Show" the night before in the guise of his alter-ego, for starters. There was also the long-time-coming creation of an official Twitter account for @peeweeherman. In other words, Pee Wee is back and he's here with us in cyberspace. The word of the day is... "awesome."

The sudden Pee Wee resurgence led to a rush of of responses from around the Internet. Today's Daily TwitPic is one of those responses, from comedian and MTV veteran Andy Milonakis. In the image after the jump you can see a very messy -- and very excited -- Milonakis posing with Reubens and a handful of red licorice. Read More...

It was an epic day of awkward headshots in the Twitter-Wood feed today, so go click on the photo links knowing full well that you are about to see some rare sights. Pee Wee Herman, Paul Reubens' recently revived alter-ego earned top honors for a shot posted by Andy Milonakis, but Alyson Hannigan, Danny DeVito and Ice-T all jumped in the running too.

None of them, however, openly invited New Yorkers to walk up to them on the street and receive a kiss, though, which is cannot be said of Simon Pegg. You can find a link to that warm proposition along with Rachelle Lefevre's thoughts on "The Biggest Loser" and Rose McGowan's take on getting beat up. There's all in the mix for the September 23 Twitter-Wood report. Read More...

I don't know a whole lot about "Wichita." James Mangold is directing a powerhouse leading man and lady in stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The story involves a woman (Diaz) who is inadvertently pulled into a global plot while out on a blind date with a man (Cruise) who turns out to be a government agent.

None of that really matters for the purposes of this post though. That image below comes from the set of "Wichita," which is currently shooting in Boston. There are more for you to enjoy. Click the image below to check out our newly added "Wichita" set photos.

I'm being mocked in the MTV newsroom for my excitement over this news, but I don't care. He-Man is a badass, and not because his alter-ego -- Prince Adam -- is named like my name. That's not the only reason anyway. No. He-Man is a badass because he rides a Battle Cat and talks to his magical sword and still wins the day every time. He was also brought to life by Dolph Lundgren in the first movie adaptation of the Mattel toy line, and you just don't mess with that man.

Don't count on Lundgren coming back for the long-gestating second attempt at an adaptation, which has finally found a home with Sony, according to a report in Variety. Sony is partnered with Escape Artists, with the project being led by producers Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, who intend to start "from scratch." Read More...
