Please excuse the delay in running this week's Box Office Poll. I experienced some technical difficulties when working from home yesterday, so I put this post off for today. What a week we're in for movies. I don't know about y'all, but every wide release that opens is on my list as well as a fair few of the limited releases. So let's get to it.

Tough to say what the big one for the week is going to be. I think the top contender -- though not necessarily by a wide margin -- is "Zombieland," a comedy-horror flick starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. As a zombie apocalypse sweeps across the world, the foursome set out on a cross-country trip to... well I'm not entirely sure. They kill lots of zombies though. Read More...

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there have never been a group of moviemakers better at appealing to multiple generations than the dudes over at Disney. During the last decade-and-a-half, they’ve received a major assist from Pixar and this weekend the powerhouse movie entities join forces again to bring the first two “Toy Story” films back in 3-D. Recently, we caught up with Tim Allen and he weighed in on whether Buzz Lightyear’s return to cinemas is motivated by money, nostalgia, the opportunity for a new audience – or all of the above.

“Disney loves these projects, and those of us involved in [the ‘Toy Story’ franchise] think it’s a good idea to see these in theaters again,” explained Allen, who voices Buzz. “That’s what it’s about, really. It’s not like Disney needs the coin. That’s not what this is about, people! This is about love - in the shape of greenbacks.” Read More...

I haven't actually seen Oren Peli's "Paranormal Activity" yet, but that's only because it hasn't opened in New York City. I've demanded it and a lot of you have too apparently, as Paramount has revealed that the movie will open in 20 additional markets this Friday, October 2. This is in addition to the 12 areas it is already screening in, college towns where the initial round of tickets sold out before last Friday.

If you're asking "what is 'Paranormal Activity'?" then you haven't been reading the blog lately. Peli's inventive horror/thriller is all about a couple who believe their house is haunted. To get a better idea of what's going on, they invest in a video camera and tripod setup for their bedroom. The movie is free of excessive gore (or gore of any kind, from what I hear) and expensive digital effects. It's all sleight of hand and smoke & mirrors, used to impressive effect. 20 more cities will find out firsthand this weekend. Hit the jump for the list. Read More...

I love myself some monkey humor, so it's going to be tough to top yesterday's Bob Saget finds true love post. Still, I suspect that Daily TwitPic will excite at least one or two of you readers.

"Twilight" is pretty popular these days. The movies and the books. But have you ever wondered whose hands are holding the apple on the cover of that first book? Had you just assumed it was author Stephenie Meyer? I'm sure the identity of the hand model -- one Kimbra Hickey -- is known to a few of you out there, but "Twilight" actor Justin Chon got to hang with her recently and a photo was snagged of the event. Hit the jump to see for yourself. Read More...

Yesterday was the big interview day at the “Couples Retreat” junket in Bora Bora. It was also a big day for the South Pacific mosquitoes to discover how tasty I could be. I have a feeling they’ll miss my sweet flesh more than I’ll miss the postcard perfect vistas here. But you don’t want to hear the whining of a guy working in Bora Bora. The day was unique for a variety of reasons. In keeping with the theme of my post the other day I’ll share with you some more useful life lessons I picked up. Read More...

"Twilight" covers pretty much turned into the Sports Illustrated cover of hand-modeling gigs, but Kimbra Hickey snagged it, and actor Justin Chon earned my photo pic for the day with his candid TwitPic of her from the weekend. Chon, Peter Facinelli, and Christian Serratos all posted over the weekend, and Serratos contributed her own TwitPic, which you'll find below.

Moving on down the feed, Miley Cyrus appears to have had a good time and a Britney Spears concert, and the two performers exchanged Twitter gushes when it was all over. Ice-T, meanwhile, was not gushing in his criticism toward public reaction Saturday when Jenny Slate dropped the F-bomb on "Saturday Night Live." I'm @brianwarmoth, and you can check out all of those posts, along with more Rose McGowan fan artwork(!), Dane Cook with Andre Agassi and what Amanda Bynes wants in a boyfriend. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for September 28, 2009. Read More...

The biggest challenge faced by "Twilight" star Cam Gigandet while shooting last week's sci-fi/horror flick "Pandorum" in Germany was tracking down crackers. Saltines, to be precise. That's what his three months pregnant wife was craving, you see.

Luckily for Gigandet, we live in an age of useful iPhone Apps. The star cited one which uses pictures to help break the language barrier, not that it actually helped. There are apparently no Saltines to be found in Germany, at least not in the places Gigandet looked. Read More...

--But first, more peer-created "Where the Wild Things Are" art! The movie's official We Love You So blog has been supporting a Crailtap contest asking for imaginative Photoshop work-ups of "Wild Things" art in pop culture imagery. The results have been impressive, to say the least. (We Love You So)

--This next one comes compliments of MTV Movies Blog reader Rebekah Burgess. I love myself some "Ghostbusters." It's a bonafide classic, and it's set in a New York City that doesn't really exist anymore. Not that you'd be able to tell by simply comparing the locations. A pair of new posts on Scouting New York show a series of "then & now" photos -- movie stills compared with current-day locations -- from "Ghostbusters," with appropriate commentary. It's fantastic; I urge you all to click through and see for yourselves. (Scouting New York (Part 1) and Scouting New York (Part 2)) Read More...

Following the recent departure of Disney studio chief Dick Cook, Johnny Depp admitted to being less enthusiastic about returning to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" ("Pirates" part 4, for those who lost count). And the fans in turn admitted that they'd give up on the franchise without him in it.

That apparently isn't stopping Disney though. According to a tip received by Cinema Blend, the studio is preparing to replace Depp if/when he decides to abandon ship. This may not happen with "On Stranger Tides," as Disney is likely prepared to offer him as much money as it takes to keep him aboard. The actor, who is said to be aware the last two movies "sucked," will definitely not be sticking around for the fifth and sixth installments if the tipster is to be believed. Read More...

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: It's pretty incredible that even in the most remote, exotic places of the world - you can still find "Twilight" fever. Case in point — I'm in Bora Bora for the "Couples Retreat" junket. It took 21 hours to get here from NYC, a transit time that included three different flights. If you look up Bora Bora on a map, you see it's literally in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. All of this meaning ... it's a gorgeously isolated island. Well, during some free time, Movies Editor Josh Horowitz and I decided to do some exploring on the mainland. So Josh, his lovely wife Jenny, and I hopped on a small boat to be whisked away to the tiny town of Vaitape. We were dropped off in the main marketplace, which was actually only a little strip of about four different shops.

The first image we're greeted with? Robert Pattinson. More specifically, Robert Pattinson's beautiful, pensive face from a "Twilight" poster plastered in a store window. (There were some French phrases that I wasn't able to translate if any of you care to assist.) Anyway, in store number two, we browsed the aisles of flowered pareos and Tahitian vanilla. Suddenly, we came upon upon Robert Pattinson's dreamy visage. Actually, a ton of Robert Pattinson's as you can see in the picture after the jump.
