Harrison Ford has tackled many, many, many memorable roles over his career. Han Solo in "Star Wars." Jack Trainer in "Working Girl." The United States President in "Air Force One." The fugitive in, well, "The Fugitive." But, let's not forget that at the end of the day he's Indiana Jones. So when MTV News was invited to a Team Earth event where Indy himself was making an appearance, we couldn't say no. After all, it's not every day you get to ask the whip-wielding one what we can expect from a fifth "Indiana Jones" flick.

It seems like Ford doesn't know what to expect from the flick either. Or maybe he just isn't talking. "We're waiting on a script," he said. As for when that script might surface, Ford isn't holding his breath: "Ah, not yet." Read More...

The headline pretty much says it all, right? I'm dropping the soundtrack listing after the jump, as it looks ugly just laid out as bare text on the main page. To make up for it, here's the third "New Moon" trailer for your viewing pleasure.

This movie is going to be so much better than "Twilight" was. The trailers tell the story there. Hit the jump for your soundtrack (via StephenieMeyer.com), which includes Death Cab for Cutie, Muse and The Killers. Read More...

"Barton Fink" is a difficult movie to classify. It's also one of the best efforts from filmmakers Ethan and Joel Coen, the guys behind bonafide classics like "The Big Lebowski," "Fargo" and "No Country for Old Men." Not to mention "Fink," which is held in high regard by just about everyone who's seen it. The story -- about a playwright, the titular Fink (John Turturro), who tries to beat writer's block while residing in a Hollywood hotel -- sounds fairly innocuous, but it's all in the delivery.

The movie is a touchstone within the Coen's oeuvre, but it doesn't really carry the same cult appeal that the similarly genre-bending "The Big Lebowski" does. As such, I never in a million years would have expected a "Barton Fink" sequel. And yet, that's exactly what the brothers hinted at when they spoke to MTV's Josh Horowitz at the Toronto International Film Festival, where they were promoting "A Serious Man," which hits theaters on October 2. Who can forget The Jesus? John Turturro's crazed, pedophile bowler in "The Big Lebowski" is an unforgettable character, even with no more than five or 10 minutes of screen time. He's so popular that there's long been a rumor percolating that filmmakers Ethan and Joel Coen would break out a Jesus spin-off movie. Turturro is very insistent about it, as you can see in this video from back in June...

I'm afraid that the actor's excitement just isn't enough to spur the Coen brothers into action. There's always hope of course, but MTV's Josh Horowitz spoke with the siblings last week at the Toronto International Film Festival -- where they were promoting "A Serious Man," which hits theaters on October 2 -- and things are not looking good. -- Oh Kanye West. You reap what you sow, that's all I can say. You stepped all over 19 year old Taylor Swift's MTV Video Music Awards win -- her first one -- and now you're being dragged through the mud for it. The latest serving of Kanye-related hilarity comes from Sci Fi Wire, with some doctored images of the shamed rapper popping in to interrupt a variety of serial sci-fi/fantasy series'. I've got to say though, I'm surprised "Fringe" is absent. (Sci Fi Wire)

-- Readers on the Internets love themselves some lists. Love 'em. We like to indulge here on MTV Movies Blog as much as any other outlet, but I have to give it up to TotalFilm for their latest effort: 20 Greatest Horror Films You've Never Seen. They're on target too-- I've never seen a single one. (TotalFilm) Read More...

A long time ago, we all dreaded Disney's decision to turn its "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme park attraction into a movie. Then Johnny Depp came aboard, and he gave us one of the most iconic film characters of the past decade. Since then, its been harder to be cynical of such adaptations.

Apparently we have Disney studio chief Dick Cook to partially thank for how great the "Pirates" franchise -- or at least the first film -- is. Now that Cook has resigned from the company (Disney denies he was fired), the series could be in jeopardy. Or, at least Depp's involvement with the films may be. Read More...

Last week "Jennifer's Body" director Karyn Kusama dropped a few hints to super sci-fi site io9.com about her pet project starring Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, which has yet to find funding. She said, "there's a screenplay I wrote a while ago with a partner that has a sort of element of horror, although I would call it a psychological horror in the David Cronenberg tradition, that I'm trying to get made."

In a recent interview with MTV, Kusama cited David Cronenberg, the director whose specific type of creepy-crawliness is often referred to as body horror, as "a really important influence, or just an important role model as a creative force." Although Cronenberg's more recent works like "A History of Violence" and "Eastern Promises" veered more towards the mainstream, there's no doubt his earlier work like "Videodrome," "Dead Ringers" (Kusama's favorite), and of course the remake of "The Fly" tapped into our fears of mutation and other types of organic monstrousness. Kevin Smith is a funny guy. He'd probably use a more... "colorful" word than "guy," one starting with 'mother' and ending with a term I won't repeat here (it starts with 'f'), but that's all part of his charm. He's a talented filmmaker to be sure -- just look at modern classics like "Clerks" and "Dogma" -- but he's also a fantastically well-spoken and engaging individual.

That's why you should be excited about Titan Books' "Shootin' the S--t With Kevin Smith: The Best of SModcast," which hits store shelves on September 22. As in tomorrow. It's filled transcribed conversations between Smith and his View Askew partner and longtime collaborator Scott Mosier. Hit the jump for a brief excerpt of the hilarity. And stay tuned for MTV.com next week, as Smith will be here in the office to answer some questions! Read More...

As if last week's mixed-genre Friday openings weren't enough, we've got the same song this week as well. I'm thinking that the front-runner is "Fame." Not only does it possess an all-ages appeal, but there's also the nostalgia factor to consider. The 1980 original was quite popular, so even childless thirty-somethings can find something to enjoy with this remake. Maybe.

It's not like there aren't other options. Michael Moore is back with another message-driven doc, "Capitalism: A Love Story." This one's about the sorry state of financial affairs that our nation is currently in, with the focus on what went wrong and how we got to where we currently are. Moore is nothing if not a crowd-pleaser, so expect to find his same brand of wry, scathing humor mixed with shocking facts about corporate and governmental wrongdoings. Read More...

You might not know who Selena Gomez is if you're over the age of 25 and have no younger family members. She's incredibly popular though, known best as Alex Russo on Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place." She also had roles in the Disney Channel movies "Another Cinderella Story" and "Princess Protection Program." Gomez's long-term goal is to join a band and take her music as far as she can, as she told MTV's Jocelyn Vena in an interview last year.

Last week, Gomez took home a golden statue at the 2009 Alma Awards, an event which celebrates Latino artists across a range of industries. In the Daily TwitPic after the jump, you can see the young entertainer cradling her shiny new trophy, a contented grin on her face. Congratulations, Ms. Gomez. Here's hoping Kanye West didn't pop in to crash your acceptance speech. Read More...
