"Resident Evil: Afterlife," the upcoming fourth installment in the video game-turned-film franchise, is set to lens in Toronto next month with a prison-centric plot -- and luckily for our zombie-fighting heroes, there's one guy coming aboard that's had some experience in the big house.

In an interview with Black Film, actor Boris Kodjoe revealed that he'll star in the upcoming "Resident Evil" film alongside Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter, both of whom return in their roles as Alice and Claire Redfield, respectively. But Kodjoe also threw an entirely new actor in the mix: none other than Wentworth Miller, the star of the recently concluded "Prison Break" television series. Read More...

Usually the words "set photos" are accompanied by the words "out of focus" and "shot from a distance." Not today though. Professional photographers produce great results, especially when they're invited to a set with camera in tow. Such is the case with a heaping batch of new "New Moon" photos by photographer David Strick, shooting for the Los Angeles Times' photo blog, Hollywood Backlot.

As the headline suggests, there's quite a bit of eye candy (no pun intended). Check out Edward's (Robert Pattinson) shiny golden eyes and hit the jump for Taylor Lautner, shirtless. Then head over to the official posting for plenty more. Read More...

George Clooney has quite the busy year ahead of him. He stars in Up in the Air" and "Men Who Stare At Goats," two TIFF darlings which both hit theaters in a matter of weeks. Then there's the upcoming Wes Anderson stop-motion adaptation of Roald Dahl's "Fantastic Mr. Fox" -- another Toronto fave -- which the actor lends his voice to. Clooney also produced the just-released, Steven Soderbergh-directed "The Informant!," starring Matt Damon.

The star's 2010 is also shaping up, with a lead and a producer's credit for the action/thriller adaptation of Martin Booth's novel "A Very Private Gentleman." We can add one more to the list now. News emerged over the weekend Clooney is getting back together with his old "Ocean's co-star Damon, and they're bringing Emmy-winning "West Wing" writer Aaron Sorkin along for the ride. Read More...

Brad Pitt has been the subject of a whirlwind of internet rumors that would mystify Sherlock Holmes himself. The "Inglourious Basterds" star was pegged for a cameo as the nefarious Moriarty, the titular master detective's arch-nemesis, in the Guy Ritchie-directed "Sherlock Holmes," but denials from Warner Bros. and other official parties effectively squashed that rumor.

Do you think the real Moriarty would reveal his identity so easily? No, he'd confuse his pursuers with misdirection and false leads. But just like legends, a good rumor never dies. Read More...

I'm no tough guy, but honestly I don't get scared easily by horror films. However, one movie from my childhood still creeps me out to this day: "Poltergeist." Between the hungry oak tree and the demonic clown doll, I blame Steven Spielberg, who produced, co-wrote and partly co-directed the film, for many of the nightmares and fears I've had throughout my life.

Now that I'm hearing that Spielberg had the crap scared out of him by "Paranormal Activity," I'm both afraid and anxious to see the $15,000 indie sensation, opening in select cities this weekend. According to a story from the Los Angeles Times on the history of the film, after his company, DreamWorks, acquired "Paranormal Activity," Spielberg took a DVD home and was given quite a fright. One of my first comments after seeing the track listing for the "New Moon" soundtrack, released yesterday, was "wow, I know maybe five bands on this list." Of course, it's not terribly difficult to stump me with new music. I love to listen but I've fallen a bit behind the times in recent years.

Still, as I walked around the newsroom and talked to folks about it, I realized that there are a lot of flat-out niche artists featured on the soundtrack. Some are up-and-coming, some haven't found their audience and some are just not as well known as they could/should be. Sure, there's Death Cab for Cutie, VMA performer Muse and Radiohead's Thom Yorke, but they are outnumbered by less familiar names, like Editors and Lykke Li. Read More...

Some mornings, the copy for Daily TwitPic just flows out of me. This is not one of those mornings. I'll admit, I don't know a whole lot about Kim Kardashian. She starred in "Disaster Movie," released a workout DVD and -- this is what she's most known for -- is part of the E! reality series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Kardashian was one of the many celebrities who attended the 2009 Emmy Awards two nights ago. She walked the red carpet looking -- as one website described it -- "severe" in her long white dress and with her heavily made up face. Everything was going fine until her dress ripped... FROM SPLASH PAGE: Ever since Michael Caine infamously name-checked Johnny Depp and Philip Seymour Hoffman as potential cast members for the next "Batman" movie, he's been on notice. According to Caine, who's currently making the rounds promoting his upcoming film "Harry Brown," he hasn't been on the receiving end of any details regarding Christopher Nolan's next foray in the Bat-universe... but that doesn't mean he isn't interested in where the franchise goes next.

MTV Movies Editor Joshua Horowitz caught up with Caine during the Toronto International Film Festival (where the "news" first got started last year) to pick his brain about the next "Batman" movie and joke about the scoop that rocked the 'Net.

The Emmy Awards prevailed over football yesterday in the Twitter-Wood feed. I'm just sorry that John Hodgman's posted pic with comic book writer and "Lost" writer staff alumnus Brian K. Vaughan was too dark to make Twitter Pic of the Day. Instead, Kim Kardashian moved up into first place for that honor with her behind-the-scenes look at what happens when you rip your dress at the Emmy's.

On down the list, Rainn Wilson, Diablo Cody and Steve Agee pondered how hitch a ride on Tyler Perry's successful Madea movies. To find out what Wilson wants to do and see when Peter Facinelli will be reporting back for duty on the "Eclipse" set, read their tweets for yourself. They're all below in the Twitter-Wood report for September 21, 2009. Read More...

It's always weird for me to hear Michael Jackson sing "Human Nature." My first exposure to the song was Miles Davis, who incorporated the "Thriller" track into his sets in the 1980s. Miles' trumpet certainly sang in its own way, but hearing Jackson belt out actual vocals on top of that melody is strangely jarring.

In this clip from "Michael Jackson's This Is It," watch as the pop star breaks into an initially rough, exploratory rendition of the tune. As the band comes in, the performance takes shape until the last few seconds, when the scene cuts to what looks like a dress rehearsal. I have to say, the more I see of director Kenny Ortega's "This Is It," the more I like.
