I know as much about fine art as I do about flying a space shuttle, which is to say very, very little. But I know what I like. And the sculpture situated behind "The State" veteran David Wain in today's Daily TwitPic... it's badass.
Wain is apparently traveling in Italy right now, and his latest stop was Ortygia, Sicily. While there he discovered this impressive sculpture which I can't seem to find a background for on the Internet. My guess is that I'm just not getting the search terms right, but if anyone knows what this sculpture is and who constructed it, please let us know in the comments section. What I do know is that it's not so common to see a giant human form reaching up from beneath the ground, but it would be a hella cool sight to greet you out the window every morning.
