I get a kick out of the fact that "Halloween II" director Rob Zombie uses IMDB.com the way many of us use Facebook. See, the movie information portal maintains a running list of celebrity birthdays, updated daily. For most of us, that's just a cool bit of extra trivia to carry into the day. For a dude as popular as Zombie though, it's a big help. See what he has to say in the video below.

Sigourney WeaverNot everyone is digging the look of the Na'vi in "Avatar," and frankly, neither was I -- until a picture of Sigourney Weaver as a Na'vi popped up online, that is. In an upcoming issue of Empire, the "Aliens" heroine -- who plays a scientist in the James Cameron-directed film -- is revealed in all of her blue-skinned, yellow-eyed glory... and holy heck if she doesn't look exactly like an aliened-up Ellen Ripley!

The transformation of Weaver got me wondering about other Cameron-directed characters who'd benefit from the "Avatar" treatment -- and it got our crack team of designers wondering, too! The result is our very own visual interpretation of five classic Cameron characters as Na'vi warriors! Read More...

In the below video, Cameron Diaz and "X-Men" star James Marsden ponder the dilemma that is central to Richard Kelly's upcoming "The Box," which they both star in. The movie asks its star couple to consider the question: if they could immediately become wealthy by pushing a single button, at the cost of another human being's life, would they do it? It's a question with no simple answer, and one that Diaz and Marsden face as Norma and Arthur Lewis.

For more from Diaz and Marsden, check out Larry Carroll's writeup on MTV.com. First though, hit the jump for an exclusive still from "The Box," part of our Fall Preview gallery. Read More...

Welcome to Gore Girls! MTV contributor Terri Schwartz doesn't know crap about the horror genre, and she's volunteered to be our Movies Blog guinea pig. She has a good guide too. Fellow contributor Jenni Miller is a bonafide horror enthusiast, and she's willing to walk Terri through her formative experiences with blood, guts, monsters and maniacs. Together, this dynamic duo are THE GORE GIRLS!!! Good luck Terri... you're definitely going to need it.

MTV's Gore Girls take on director Herschell Gordon Lewis's "The Gore Gore Girls"...

Terri: In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I am the horror-virgin and sissy half of the Gore Girls, and that blood and guts really freak me out. And so, I'm not entirely certain how to feel about "The Gore Gore Girls," Herschell Gordon Lewis's bloodbath of a film. Read More...

From the look of things, director Mira Nair's "Amelia" is much more than the fall season's obligatory Oscar-worthy biopic. It may be that too, but Earhart is a fascinating subject and Hilary Swank, who has a couple golden statues of her own already, is a great fit for the role. The story chronicles Earhart's personal life as she rose to prominence, that is until her 1937 disappearance as she attempted to circumnavigate the globe in an airplane.

Check out our trailer review over on Hollywood Crush and click the image below for a look at our exclusive Fall Preview gallery. "Amelia" hits theaters on October 23.

Christian BaleOpinions are like a Terminator-filled post-apocalyptic future -- they're absolutely everywhere.

On the matter of "Terminator" as a film franchise, opinions on the recent "Terminator Salvation" are fairly widespread, though the general consensus seems to be disappointment with the theatrical cut. A potential remedy might be on the way courtesy of the "Terminator Salvation - Director's Cut" home video release however. UGO reports that the MPAA has rated McG's cut of the film with a hard R for "some violence and brief nudity." Might this version of "Terminator Salvation," the one that McG wanted us to see all along, be enough to change the commonly held dissatisfaction with last May's release?

Possibly... but probably not. Read More...

Ricky Gervais called during the 11 a.m. opening day screening of "Grindhouse." Said he loved the script, wanted to make the movie, asked how soon could we meet to get everything started?

Pacing around the movie theater lobby on his cell phone while "Grindhouse" blared away inside, Matthew Robinson thought for sure he was being punked. Yeah, he knew his script for a high-concept comedy about a world in which lying does not exist had gotten into Gervais' hands, but this just didn't happen in Hollywood. Sounded like a "Twilight Zone" episode, which was how he came up with the script idea anyway. Yet two weeks later he was sitting with his comedy hero rewriting the script and on September 25th, two and a half years after that first phone call, "The Invention of Lying" will arrive in theaters. Do I need to give you all background on who the Volturi are? I was just reading through Alec's info on the Internet and then I realized, most of you could probably educate me better than any website. The reason I'm here is to bring you MTV's exclusive reveal of Alec Volturi (Cameron Bright), member of the vampire royal family and twin brother of Jane. Here's what "New Moon" director Chris Weitz has to say on the Volturi:

"No matter how strange one of the characters is in a work of fantasy, I think you have to approach them as people and then so you start to think, 'They've been around for 2,000 years. How would they interact with one another?' The conclusion was that after 2,000 years you'd probably be more than mildly insane. No matter how cultured or gracious you appear on the surface. And I think that's what Michael Sheen managed to portray as Aro, the head of the Volturi -- on the surface he's terribly gracious, warm, a wonderful host and at the same time he's lethal and frightening. It's also what Dakota Fanning conveys as Jane. She's innocent looking in appearance but she's absolutely deadly. The first thing I wanted to do was put them in a setting that wasn't Dracula's castle. There have been so many vampire movies and werewolf movies and horror movies where everything has been dark and dreary. Instead, their headquarters is surprisingly light and crisp. And the characters that they play have a kind of a tactile reality to them in spite of how bizarre their situation is really. The whole point is not to leave Forks, Washington where everything has really been quite realistic and then suddenly go to a location that completely throws you out of the movie. And the set although it's huge and grand and magnificent actually feels like a real place." Read More...

I wonder who this coffin was meant for, and if it was supposed to be full. Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and his partner in crimefighting Dr. Watson (Jude Law) are in a graveyard after all. They're looking off-camera at someone or something as if they're expecting something. Or were. What do you think is going on here? Are you as antsy as I am about having to wait until "Sherlock Holmes"' December release to find out? Click the image below to zip over to our exclusive Fall Preview gallery.

Steven SpielbergLegendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg may be directing invisible rabbit remake "Harvey" next, but his follow-up gig may have just opened up. USA Today reports that DreamWorks is developing an adaptation of Michael Crichton's final, as-yet-unreleased novel "Pirate Latitudes," a 17th century adventure involving the water-borne bandits' plot to raid Port Royal and liberate of Spanish galleon of its valuable cargo. The novel isn't out until November 24, but David Koepp -- who previously adapted Crichton's "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World" for Spielberg -- is already working on a script.

The question of course is whether Spielberg will direct or not. It certainly seems like a possibility, at least according to DreamWorks CEO Stacey Snider. "Anything that Michael wrote, Steven would be keenly interested to read," she said. "But without Michael knowing it, or even me knowing it, it turns out Steven always wanted to direct his own pirate film." Read More...
