Brett Favre may have had problems sticking to a decision about his retirement over the last couple of years, but the talking heads of the Twitter-Wood feed let their opinions be known loud and clear today. In an abbreviated rundown, I've included input from Seth Meyers, Rainn Wilson and Ashton Kutcher, among others. Whatever your take, hopefully we can all agree that he was great with Cameron Diaz in "There's Something About Mary."

The second Brett in the report today, Ratner, wished his favorite director, Roman Polanski a happy birthday. Click on down to read what he had to say alongside a post-"Inglourious Basterds" suggestion for the Weinsteins, Tom Felton's return to the gym, and Ice-T's photo op with Tracy Morgan. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for August 18, 2009. Read More...

As part of their Power of Film feature, IMDb has put together a list of the top 15 highest fan rated flicks released since 2000. The list is impressive and a bit shocking: four of the films are foreign, three are animated, and four are fanperson dream films.

Coming in at number one is, unsurprisingly, “The Dark Knight.” A fan favorite that arguably spurred the Academy’s decision to open Best Picture up to 10 nominees after it was snubbed a nomination. “The Dark Knight” redefined the comic book film genre. Similarly, “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” is number two, and one of only two films listed that won an Academy Award for Best Picture. Read More...

Shaun of the DeadScience has discovered that "if zombies actually existed, an attack by them would lead to the collapse of civilisation unless dealt with quickly and aggressively." The quote comes from the BBC, reporting on a research paper published in the book "Infectious Diseases Modeling Research Projects" (and thanks to Sci Fi Wire for pointing out this AMAZING revelation). So in case you were worried, don't. Scientists on this planet are hard at work figuring out how best to prepare for the inevitable(?) zombie plague.

I've got a few tips for them too. Scientists can be a stuffy bunch. They prefer the safety of their labs (at least for the purposes of this writeup). Needless to say, they don't get out to the movies so much. I do though, and I've seen a lot of zombie movies. Certainly enough to know which ones we should be showing young kids as a warning of what not to do when the dead rise from their graves. (note: None of these movies should actually be shown to small children) Read More...

Quentin TarantinoI sure do love "Jackie Brown." It may very well be my favorite Quentin Tarantino flick. It easily surpasses "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction" for me. The "Kill Bill" duology has some incredible moments, but can it really top "Jackie Brown" in my personal rankings? No, I don't think it can. That leaves "Inglourious Basterds," but I haven't seen that yet. So "Jackie" reigns supreme. For now.

Today's eBay Prop-Watch item comes from that movie, and it's not particularly expensive. It also doesn't include a certificate of authenticity (or none is mentioned), though the auction's creator, an eBay Power Seller, does have a number of other prop auctions -- with COAs -- listed in his/her profile. Buy at your own risk of course, but this COA-less auction seems more trustworthy than most. And really, do any of you care? It's a cool prop from "Jackie Brown," and that's all you need to know for gawking purposes. Read More...

In a somewhat amazing turn of events, "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer is getting the comic book treatment. Not the high school vampire stories that she wrote mind you, but the author herself. That's not news anymore; word hit in the first week of August that the latest in Bluewater Productions' "Female Force" series of comics would focus on Meyer.

The reason you're reading this post is the big "EXCLUSIVE" right up there in the headline. Over on MTV Splash Page, you can take a first look at the cover for the comic as well as the not-yet-circulated official press release. I don't want to spoil all of the good stuff, but it seems that a certain well-known vampire will be narrating the comic. Head over to Splash Page for the rest of the details, as well as the full cover shot.

It's a rare occurrence when Miley Cyrus and Mike Tyson share a spotlight, but that's the way it shakes out as both celebs see their biggest release in years hit store shelves.

In a rather slow week filled mostly with television box sets, Miley's "Hannah Montana: The Movie" is one of two new wide release films dropping on Blu-ray and DVD (the other being the horror remake of "The Last House On The Left," but what's left said about that?). In the pic, Miley's father drags her back home to give the teen superstar some much-needed Southern-style perspective. While it didn't quite match the hype of her 3-D excursion, the first full-fledged "Hannah Montana" theatrical outing managed to please fans of the Disney series, which I guess is all that counts. The film gets a Deluxe Edition with modest extras including behind-the-scenes footage, cast bloopers, a music video and audio commentary from the director (they couldn't wrangle Miley?). CastlevaniaPaul W.S. Anderson had serious ambitions when it came to his big screen adaptation of the ‘80s Nintendo game, “Castlevania.” It was going to span hundreds of years, from fifteenth century Transylvania to the European trenches of World War II, yet also would somehow still be an origin story focusing on the genesis of the feud between Dracula and the Belmonts, the family tasked with battling the vampire and his clan.

That was several years ago, before the writers’ strike and then the sale of Rogue Pictures interrupted Anderson’s plan to bring “Castlevania” to theaters. Now, with the script getting the rewrite treatment and a new director set to helm the flick, Anderson is considerably (and understandably) more tight-lipped when it comes to dishing out details, as MTV News discovered during a recent conversation.
