When a sadistic killer breaks into your home and subjects your family to a series of hideous, pain-giving deathtraps, I suppose the best savior you could hope for -- other than a full SWAT brigade -- is a burglar with a talent for picking handcuff locks. That's probably what Victoria (Andrea Roth) here is thinking when Arkin (Josh Stewart) stumbles across her in her bathtub jail cell. I wonder what happened to bloody his hands like that? If you enjoyed this exclusive clip and want to know more, you'll have to check out "The Collector" in theaters when it opens this Friday.

Here's my last little bit of San Diego Comic-Con '09 round-up before we move on to newer material. SDCC is a "had to be there" sort of experience. Between the rampant cosplay, the outlandish PR stunts and the left-and-right celeb sightings, the San Diego convention hall becomes a world of scenes and photo ops. It's a good thing then that the MTV Movies team went in strong with cameras of all varieties. They shot a lot of video, but they also took a lot of pictures, as you'll see in the galleries below.

The 2009 edition of San Diego Comic-Con is over, but that doesn't mean you have to stop enjoying the bountiful gifts it has brought us. We have a ton of interview footage that you've seen, quite a bit less that you may have missed and hours upon hours of material that has yet to be digitized for Internet consumption.

Then there are the trailers. Like this ridiculously badass one for "Ninja Assassin." And more after the jump, from "Pandorum," "Tron Legacy" and "Alice in Wonderland."

Kaitlin Olsonby Savas Abadsidis

The popular FX sitcom "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" was born as a low-budget pilot in 2005. The quirky cast of bar patrons who inhabit Paddy's Bar in South Philadelphia impressed network execs enough for a seven episode first season to be ordered, for an August 2005 premiere. Four years and four completed seasons later, the show is still going strong, with the fifth season premiere set for September 17. We got to sit down with "Sunny" star Kaitlin Olson at San Diego Comic-Con last week, who talks about what's next for the show and what she's been doing with her free time.

MTV: What’s going on in the fifth Season of Sunny?

Kaitlin Olson: What’s going on?! There’s so much going on—we tackle the economy this season—we take the economy head on. Read More...

Bryce Dallas HowardNobody likes recasting roles. It confuses continuity, befuddles audiences and sometimes upsets the original actors. But there are times when such a shake-up in performers is both necessary... and even an improvement.

Take, for example, today's news that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over for Rachelle Lefevre in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," the third installment in the bloodsucking 'tween-friendly franchise. While it's still too early to call the casting an upgrade over Lefevre, it's certainly not as bad of a replacement as it could be. If nothing else, Howard is in good company -- plenty of Hollywood-folk have been in her shoes before, and many of them proved successful in their reinterpreted roles.

Don't believe me? This stroll down memory lane of five re-cast roles should be proof enough that Howard's upcoming gig might work out for the best. Read More...

Cameron DiazThe movies team working on location at San Diego Comic-Con this year did a kickass job. They flat-out crushed it. In addition to all of the coverage we've been rolling out since last Wednesday, there are literally boxes of tape just waiting to be digitized and served direct to your waiting eyeballs.

Since the onslaught has really only just begun (seriously, you have no idea), I figure now might be a good time to remind you of a few delectable video nuggets that you may have missed. I hadn't even seen some of these until yesterday. SDCC is a big show and the amount of coverage we have from it is almost overwhelming. So peep these vids before the next giant load rolls through. TwilightWell there's certainly a theme in these videos. "Twilight" coverage very nearly sweeps our top San Diego Comic-Con video clips from the past week. Only one mainstream comic book-related property even breaches the top five, and it still falls a couple thousand clicks short of the next highest performing video.

You Twilighters impress me, but you also scare me a little. You showed up in force at a veritable Mecca of geek culture, outdoing a very driven assortment of fan communities with your fervor. Again (let's not forget last year). I'm starting to think that watching "Twilight" may have this "Ring"-like effect on people, and that every day more and more of us are being forcibly inducted into your vampire army. But to what end? You watch these videos while I try to work through your nefarious plans. Read More...

Zhang YimouIt's hardly uncommon for the American film industry to remake popular foreign films. Take Martin Scorsese's Oscar-winning "The Departed," based on the Hong Kong-spawned "Infernal Affairs" series. How often does it work the other way around though? Before you ask, yes, I am aware of "Indian Thriller."

Such a reverse remake is in the works via Sony Pictures Classics, which will distribute filmmaker Zhang Yimou's planned remake of "Blood Simple," the classic thriller that marked Joel and Ethan Coen's first co-directorial endeavor. The distribution deal means that the still untitled "Blood Simple" remake will see release in North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. Read More...

The LoraxAnimated movies seem to be bigger than ever as studios scramble for classic books to turn into big budget 3D and CG animated properties. While it's generally agreed that few have managed to meet the level of Pixar, the animated offerings from DreamWorks and Universal are getting better and better. So I'll hold out hope that Universal will do right by their adaptation of Dr. Seuss' classic tale "The Lorax."

"The Lorax" is an extremely sad story of environmental destruction at the hands of "the Once-ler," who ignores the warning of the Lorax and chops down the magical Truffula forest in order to produce a goofy garment called "Thneed." Destruction and pollution rain down on the area, forcing its quirky residents to flee until only the Once-ler's ruined factories remain. Read More...

Charlize TheronI was going to begin this by noting what a political turn Charlize Theron's career has taken in recent years. A scan of her IMDB page reveals that she's always favored roles with some message-driven weight to them, and that the comedic and romantic selections are really pretty rare. Well now you can consider the status quo maintained.

Theron will be keeping to her political roots with a starring role in "Florence of Arabia." Variety reports that the actress/producer acquired the rights to the satirical novel, written by Christopher Buckley, to be developed under her Denver and Delilah Films banner. Read More...
