Russell CroweThere isn't a Russell Crowe movie that I won't watch. I confess to not only owning "A Good Year" but watching it multiple times simply because I occasionally need a trip to the French wine-country with a stern Australian. I've already pre-bought my ticket to Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood," and now I can check the calender days off for Crowe's latest, "The Next Three Days."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Days" actually has Crowe taking a break from Universal and his director friend Scott. The actor will team up with Paul Haggis ("Crash") and Lionsgate for this remake of the 2008 French thriller "Pour Elle." Read More...

Rachelle LefevreLate yesterday, Rachelle Lefevre issued a public statement concerning Summit Entertainment's decision to replace her with Bryce Dallas Howard in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." I won't reprint the comments in their entirety, but Lefevre admits that she was "stunned" by the decision and is "greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the 'Twilight' audience."

It's an unusually frank admission and -- to be honest -- it reads to me like an indirect appeal to the sizable "Twilight" fan community. Or it could just be a kneejerk disappointed response (and an ill-advised one) to the sudden firing. Unsurprisingly, Summit issued a responding statement shortly afterwards. Their release boils down to a list of bullet points meant to "set the record straight" after Lefevre's "decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly" left the blame squarely in the studio's lap. Again, I'm not going to reprint the whole thing; here's the punchline: Read More...

Charlyne YiNick Jasenovec and Charlyne Yi's new movie "Paper Heart" got lots of love from the Twitter-Wood feed following its premiere last night -- though the best post thus far comes from the film's own Twitter account, which linked to this picture of Yi with actress and perennially gonzo social event cornerstone Bai Ling. Other attendees, judging from today's tweets, included "Twilight" actress Christian Serratos, Andy Milonakis and Jason Reitman.

In other tweetage, Rainn Wilson shared his unique perspective on "The Incredible Hulk," Jon Favreau switched gears back to acting for his new film "Couples Retreat" and Paris Hilton revealed the name of her new pet, which I predict is way more decadent the the name of your pet. Below, you may feast your eyes on all of these, as well as a potentially shocking confession from Rose McGowan. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for July 29, 2009. Read More...

The Wolf ManThere's a whole mess of news to fill you in on today, so let's get right to it!

-- Time has an interview up with "Antichrist" director Lars Von Trier. That's the controversy-courting movie which features genital mutilation. So... yeah. It's not the first art-horror movie I've seen, but it's certainly among the most disturbing. (Time)

-- Ah, what an age we live in. It used to be that official statements and press releases broke big news. Now we get it from Tweets. Disney's @disneypictures Twitter channel revealed today that Michael Sheen is indeed the villain in "Tron: Legacy," as had previously been rumored. Thanks to JoBlo for bringing this to my attention. Megan FoxFROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Perhaps dudes aren't as predictable as we thought they were, because we never expected this to happen. Thanks to an onslaught of magazine covers, promotional tours and blog coverage featuring comely "Transformers" star Megan Fox, men are now begging for a reprieve!

AOL's man-blog Asylum has dubbed August 4 "A Day Without Megan Fox," promising a full day without mention of the raven-haired beauty. They're asking like-minded sites to join in, and a slew have already responded including AskMen, Just a Guy Thing, Banned in Hollywood and more.

Funny PeopleIt's a sexy day Around the Blogosphere. Only two item to highlight though. I'm not being lazy, it's just that we're pretty darn busy. Plus, I'm going for a theme here. As the above headline illustrates. Is it a coincidence that both of the writers pegged in today's post happen to be MTV writers? Actually yes, yes it is. You can believe me or you can not, but it's the truth.

First we have a list from Christopher Campbell over on SpoutBlog: "10 Actors Who Shouldn't Do Sex Scenes," inspired by an Adam Sandler moment in this week's "Funny People." A moment which doesn't bear repeating here. That's kind of the point with Chris's list. Not that Sandler makes the 10. He isn't even in the running, says Chris. I like that "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe makes the cut. And I agree. Read More...

This is kind of amazing. Here's a video clip of San Diego Comic-Con "Twilight" madness. For those who hadn't heard, there were some special screenings of "Twilight" in San Diego during the show. Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli and Taylor Lautner all showed up to surprise the crowd at one of those screenings and the results are... well, they're pretty astonishing. I love the cute bit at the end with the little kid named Jacob in a "Twi"-branded BK hat.

Do any of you ever wonder if the "Twilight" cast members wear earplugs for their public appearances? You Twilighters do worshipful shrieking better than any fanbase I've ever encountered. And I've seen Phish. Big ups for that.

ClickThis Friday, comedy superstar Judd Apatow unleashes his official summer comedy for 2009, "Funny People." In it, Adam Sandler stars as George Simmons, a blazing hot comedian/actor who learns that he is afflicted with some sort of incurable disease. He hires a budding young comic named Ira Wright (Seth Rogen) to be his personal assistant, and the two become fast friends as George comes to grips with facing his own mortality.

To celebrate the impending dose of Sandler, today's eBay Prop-Watch highlights a cool item from the 2006 family comedy "Click." In it, Sandler's character comes to possess a superpowered universal remote which is capable of screwing with time in a variety of ways. He overuses it, learns his lesson and all is set right in the end. Sorry for the spoilers. So what might today's Prop-Watch pick be? Read More...

That headline kinda says it all, doesn't it? With "Jennifer's Body," Megan Fox is taking on a more challenging role than her character in Michael Bay's "Transformers" movies has demanded. She plays a possessed cheerleader who directs her murderous intentions towards male classmates. Her best friend and classmate Needy Lesnicky (Amanda Seyfried), not to be confused with "Transformers"' Sam Witwicky, is the only one trying to convince her newly homicidal pal to step back from ledge.

In the video below, Fox talks to MTV's Josh Horowitz about the challenges of taking on this new role. In her own words, "Jennifer's Body" is "f--king really good." What more endorsement could you possibly need?

inFamousHere's some news that shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. Sony Pictures has accepted a pitch from screenwriter Sheldon Turner ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning") for a video game-to-film adaptation of "inFamous." This isn't a shock because "inFamous" is a PlayStation 3-exclusive title, a gaming console which also happens to be a Sony product. Imagine that.

"inFamous" was just released in May, to positive response from fans and critics alike. The game tells the story of Cole MacGrath, a bike messenger who is at ground zero when a catastrophic explosion leaves the fictional Empire City in a state of ruin and lawlessness. MacGrath, who mysteriously survives a blast that leaves a massive crater in the middle of the city, quickly learns that he also possesses a range of electricity-based superpowers. Read More...
