Tomorrow, a good portion of the MTV Movies team will pull up stakes and trek out to southern California for the annual San Diego Comic-Con. I'll be here in New York manning the Movies Blog, but most of the rest of the gang will be conducting interviews and gallivanting around the convention hall with cameras -- of the still and video variety -- in tow.
Our coverage won't start until the show kicks off on Thursday of course, but that doesn't mean I can't drum up some enthusiasm here on eBay Prop-Watch. Today's pick is way out of my price range. Probably out of yours too. But it's a little piece of "X2: X-Men United." The champion of the "X-Men" movies. And that's enough to satisfy me.
Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu) wore this tight, menacing number as a superhuman agent of William Stryker (Brian Cox). A sort of Asian female version of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), right down to the retractable claws, she's not someone you want to mess with. Nor is this prop something you want to open your wallet for, not unless you have a spare $7,369 (plus shipping) lying around.
The outfit comes sheltered inside a large display case, complete with a laser-etched logo and film stills near the base. And since The Prop Store of London is the seller here, you can rest easy knowing that the prop is legit. As for being able to afford it... that's a whole other proposition.
