Yeah, there's really no other way to cut it. The kids love "Potter." The grown-ups love "Potter." Hell, even the Pope loves "Potter." Director David Yates' silver screen adaptation of J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has stirred the hearts and minds of the 'sphere's writers.
Which isn't to say that I've filled yet another Around the Blogosphere post with nothing but "Potter" content. It's only mostly about "Potter" and angles relating to the same. And then there's something about "Jaws" too. Boy wizards and giant, man-eating sharks... not quite "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus," but close enough.
-- Today brings the final entry in /Film writer David Chen's week-long haul through the "Harry Potter" film series. He's already reviewed the first five films; today brings his review for the sixth and latest release, the one that audiences continue to flock to theaters to see. (/Film)
-- The "Harry Potter" kids are soon to be freed of their contractual obligations to J.K. Rowling's series. Over the course of the series, we've gotten to watch them mature into adults. Not every young actor is so lucky, to have a franchise literally usher him or her from the difficult "child actor" phase into adulthood. Spinning off of this, Rotten Tomatoes takes a look at 25 now-adult former child actors. (Rotten Tomatoes)
-- Regular MTV Movies Blog contributor Elisabeth Rappe also spends a good portion of her time writing for Cinematical. She has a shiny new list up running through her favorite moments in the "Harry Potter" film series, up to this point. Do you agree with her picks? (Cinematical)
-- This one's a couple days old, but Michael McWhertor of video games blog Kotaku -- new home of former MTV Multiplayer editor Stephen Totilo -- has a great piece up on the "Do's and Don'ts" of turning summer movies into video games. How many of you bought "Iron Man" last summer for your Xbox 360 or your PlayStation 3, only to angrily return to the store later with open game and receipt in hand? (Kotaku)
-- Did you know that the shark in "Jaws" was called Bruce on the set? Wouldn't it be cool to own a model of Bruce, now that you have something to call him? Universal is licensing a newly created maquette for a limited edition release, said to measure 3 feet in length. That is damn big. I want it. (Operation Orca via Dread Central)
