There's magic in the virtual air this morning, after last night's midnight launch of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." One of our valued MTV interns was on-hand to enjoy the festivities, and she'll have a full report for you later today. For now though, let's take a look at the bountiful gifts the blogosphere has given us this fine summer morning.
-- Fan fervor over the "Harry Potter" series has spawned all sorts of wacky... stuff. Bootleg swag, themed bands, humor videos, fan fiction... you know, stuff. The fine folks over at /Film have posted a video from Indy Mogul. A "Harry Potter" rap battle. The contenders: The Boy Who Lived vs. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. I'll admit, I couldn't bring myself to watch it all. Can you? (/Film)
-- In a similar vein, Cinematical's Dawn Taylor put together a collection of notable "Potter"-themed goofs and spoofs. No question, my favorite is the "Robot Chicken" bit, which I'd never seen. "The heat won't turn it on! I must have to rub the stone!" (Cinematical)
-- Moving from wizards to vampires, Bloody-Disgusting's Ryan Daley put together a list of "12 Movies They Won't Show You At Bible Camp," to celebrate the coming release of Park Chan-wook's offbeat vampire dark rom-com (seriously) "Thirst." (Bloody-Disgusting)
-- My good pal Jordan Hoffman over at UGO is also feeling Chan-wook's "Thirst." He received a pretty cool piece of swag from the movie, and he gets in front of the camera to show it off. What, you want more? Fine: it's blood in an IV bag. And he drinks it. Ew. (UGO)
-- Finally, one of JoBlo's readers spotted a new listing on Amazon: Ghostbusters Ectoplasm Energy Drink. I can't decide which is less appealing: an IV bag full of "blood" or an energy drink carrying the name of something Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) describes as "mucus." (JoBlo)
