Eli Roth's background directing torture-ridden horror films make him a perfect candidate to inflict gruesome revenge on Nazis in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" this August, but the creator of both "Hostel" and "Cabin Fever" says any sequels to those two films do not have him attached for a reason. His next two projects, "Endangered Species" and "Thanksgiving," appear to have priority right now, and he has now confirmed that his upcoming schedule will not include being a part of a direct-to-DVD "Hostel 3."
"I'm just not involved [with 'Hostel 3'] in any way," Roth told ShockTillYouDrop.com. "I just said, 'I put everything in my life for three years into these movies. I've said everything I have to say with it. I feel very lucky I got to make them and the fans responded the way they did, and if you guys want to continue it, great, go ahead."
Roth directly compared the scenario to the Ti West-directed "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever." That sequel followed his breakthrough 2002 film, which introduced Roth's dark, humor-laced brand of horror to the world.
"That's another one like 'Cabin Fever 2,'" he said, offering his support for the project. "The studio had made a lot of money with it so they want to keep going, and the fans, there's demand for it, and great."
