A strange e-mail dropped into my mailbox yesterday. I was about to hit delete when I noticed "District 9" at the end of the subject heading. In case you hadn't heard, "District 9" is a sci-fi flick that hits theater on August 14 of this year. You should care because Peter Jackson is producing and Neill Blomkamp, who previously worked with Jackson on the ill-fated "Halo" video game adaptation, is directing.
"District 9" is based on a Blomkamp short film in which aliens land on Earth, in South Africa to be precise. They are placed in confinement and put to work under the watchful eyes of Multi-National United, or MNU. The e-mail I received is ostensibly from some anti-MNU organization; the linking site, MNUSpreadsLies.com, isn't new, but I thought y'all would appreciate a look at the viral goodness.
