Here's a trailer for "Big Fan," written and directed by Robert D. Siegel. If that name sounds familiar, it's because Siegel also wrote last year's Oscar-nominated "The Wrestler." Patton Oswalt stars in "Big Fan" as a New York Giants-obsessed superfan who gets a brutal wakeup call from one of the players he so worships. "Big Fan" has enjoyed some decent buzz on the festival circuit, enough that it's been picked up for a wide release on August 28.
I really enjoyed "Big Fan" when I caught it at Sundance, though I should warn you that this trailer is a bit more revealing than it could be. I guess I can respect the need to give a movie like this the hard sell lest it is missed by the masses, but there are a few moments which come perilously close to spoiling a deeply significant plot point.
