"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is now the proud holder of a five-day box office record of $201.2 million, but Optimus Prime still comes in behind Batman. Poor reviews aren't keeping audiences away from the latest Michael Bay spectacle, which has continued to exceed expectations and break records every day that it's in theaters. Read More...

This past Thursday, shortly after Michael Jackson's untimely passing, a sick Internet rumor started that veteran actor Jeff Goldblum had died. His reps were quick to point out that the actor was, in fact, very much alive and well. For any of you doubting Thomases out there, here's photographic evidence of the actor's good health, taken just a couple weeks ago:

Of course, as many here in the MTV offices will attest to, Jeff Goldblum is king. He will always be David Cronenberg's original "Fly" of course, but I love him best for starring alongside a young Laurence Fishburne as a high-class drug dealer in "Deep Cover." And a designer drug dealer at that. In the honor of the fact that Jeff Goldblum still walks among us, I present to you this little photographic tour through his career. Read More...

Revenge of the Fallen1. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" ($36.7 million)
2. "The Proposal" ($6.1 million)
3. "The Hangover" ($5.3 million)
4. "My Sister's Keeper" ($5.1 million)
5. "Up" ($3.9 million)

Some weekends, it's easy to predict what's going to come out on top! "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" topped our poll, and it destroyed the charts to take number one with $36.7 million. That would be enough to qualify it as a summer hit, but since it's debut was actually on Wednesday, that's just a drop of the bucket. Read More...

Michael BayYou would think that Michael Bay, director of this week's hot summer blockbuster "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," would be taking advantage of some well-earned downtime as audiences flock to see giant fighting robots and s--t blowing up. Maybe he is. But that's not all he's doing.

Variety reports that Bay is in place to produce and possibly direct a book-to-movie adaptation of "I Am Number Four," the first in a six-book sci-fi series. The deal is with Dreamworks; studio stakeholder Steven Spielberg is expected to be active "in a behind-the-scenes capacity, similar to the godfather role he has played in the 'Transformers' franchise." BrunoIt appears that even the irreverent humor of cultural satirist Sacha Baron Cohen has its limits. In the wake of pop star Michael Jackson's death on Thursday, the decision was made -- rightly, I think -- to remove from a scene from Cohen's "Brüno" featuring La Toya Jackson. The timing of the cut was apparently very tight, as the film's L.A. premiere at Mann's Chinese Theater was scheduled for the same night.

Universal issued a terse statement on the decision: "Out of respect for the Jackson family, the filmmakers have decided to remove a small scene involving La Toya Jackson." That's really all anyone can say, I think. Cohen himself has been silent on the move; whatever his personal opinions may be, it's good to see the comic maintaining Universal's party line. Jeff GoldblumUPDATE: Check out our Jeff Goldblum photo gallery for some great shots of the actor throughout his career!

The last 24 hours have been about a week long in Twitter-Wood. After two unplanned updates with reactions to Michael Jackson's death, I'm back with some regularly scheduled programming.

First off, the best news of the last day is that Jeff Goldblum is not dead. Kevin Spacey set the record straight on his Twitter account, and several others reacted as that rumor brushfire was extinguished. We've also got Tom Felton continuing his commentary behind the scenes at "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows," Mandy Moore looking for someone to play "Battletech" with, and much more after the click. Transformers: Revenge of the FallenGood afternoon readers! I hope your collective Fridays are going swimmingly. I know my vision is swimming, but I'm also running on less than five hours sleep and a whole lot of root beer!

So I decided earlier in the week that the Monday morning Box Office Poll roundup is just too long. And really, is it helpful to know how your peers voted after the weekend is over? So I've decided to break things up a bit, and feed you the poll results every Friday afternoon instead. Not that it really matters week, since we all know where your votes fell. Read More...

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallenby Alan Kistler

Over the years, the Transformers have occasionally crossed over with other fun franchises. There have been Transformers/"Star Wars" toys. The Autobots teamed up with Marvel’s New Avengers team. There have been several comics in which the Transformers worked against or alongside the G.I. Joe team. In one of the early comic issues, the Autobot called Cliffjumper even teamed up with the amazing Spider-Man.

In the movie world, plenty have enjoyed similar team-ups. Look at "Freddy Vs. Jason" or "Aliens Vs. Predator." With "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" freshly released in theaters, why not push the envelope a bit further? Here's a list of some crossovers that I think would be a lot fun to watch, each supplied with my own idea of how the story could bring the characters together. Enjoy! Read More...

Uncharted: Drake's FortuneEarlier today, it was revealed that Columbia is taking steps to bring the PlayStation 3-exclusive video game "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" to the silver screen. As a fairly obsessive gamer, I have to say that I'm very pleased with this news.

Granted, game-to-movie adaptations don't have the best of track records. "Uncharted" is a special case though. The game continues to be lauded for its tight narrative and blockbuster-style delivery. If there's a game out there that could simply be carried over into the passive entertainment space of film, it's this one. But which actors would be best for which parts in the coming adaptation?
