A man in Wales has put all "Doctor Who" fans to shame. Sebastian Neale died at the young age of 26 due to “head injuries.” Neale, a major “Whovian” -- the nickname given to "Doctor Who" fanboys -- made sure he went out in style. The entire funeral was done with a "Who" theme, right down to a coffin designed to resemble the Doctor’s famous time-traveling ship, the TARDIS.
Rather than a standard dirge, Neale’s funeral played the famous "Doctor Who" theme song. As mourners entered, they were greeted by a recording of Tom Baker, the famous and beloved Fourth Doctor, as a recording repeated his famous lines from “The Pyramids of Mars” when he said: “I’m a Time Lord… I’m not a human being. I walk in Eternity.”
Even the clergy was in on the act. Rather than Bible verses, this funeral’s readings included famous quotations from the original series, which ran for 26 seasons. These included one of the most famous speeches of the show, as spoken by the First Doctor actor William Hartnell during “The Dalek Invasion of Earth”:
“One day, I will come back. Yes, I will come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine.”
Neale was then buried in a coffin that had been made to resemble the TARDIS, that famous time-ship of the Doctor’s which was always noted for being “bigger on the inside than the outside.” A metaphor for life’s journey?
It may seem silly to some, but Sebastian Neale was definitely someone who made sure he would be remembered for what he loved.
