'Drag Me To Hell'FROM MTV.COM: They don't make movies like "Drag Me to Hell" anymore. Or at least they haven't since Sam Raimi unleashed his bloody-disgusting "Evil Dead" horror satires back in the 1980s. Now Raimi has taken time out from the money-gushing "Spider-Man" franchise to return to his gore-logged quickie-flick roots, and he hasn't lost his touch. You want flying eyeballs? Face-chewing fiends? Projectile worm-spew? You got it.

The story, devised by Raimi and his brother Ivan, concerns an L.A. bank-loan officer named Christine (sunny Alison Lohman, made to be menaced). Christine is bucking for a promotion. When an old woman comes into the bank begging for an extension on her mortgage payment, Christine attempts to demonstrate a merciless bankerly nature by turning her down. Since the woman has one dead eye, long demon nails, and the sort of snaggly teeth that suggest she's spent decades gnawing on drainpipes, any infant might have advised Christine not to get on this hag's to-do list. But she does. Such a bad move.

Our resident reporter Sway found that out firsthand when he asked Samberg what his preshow ritual will be. Without spoiling his answer, let's just say it involves rappelling equipment and a large vat of Bengay.

MTV News welcomes Shelly Morrison as our official Movie Awards Insider for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. From now until the big show on Sunday, Shelly will be mixing it up with the hottest celebrities and taking you behind closed doors for one of Hollywood's biggest events.

This morning started off with the daily MTV News meeting, where I got to meet Sway. At the meeting, I learned that I would be interviewing Movie Awards nominee Luke Goss, who played Prince Nuada in "Hellboy II." Before leaving for the shoot, I was whisked off to have my makeup done.

Then, we were off!

We drove out to Runyon Canyon, where we met Luke for the interview. First off were introductions. We got to know each other a little and then got down to the nitty gritty questions about his nominations. I couldn't believe that he spent nine weeks training for the fight scene in "Hellboy II," but he informed me that working with Guillermo del Toro often requires extra training. Read more...

Tonight I got to go meet up with Charlyne at Mann's Chinese Theatre. You may know her as the stoner girl from "Knocked Up," and she has a pseudo-documentary coming out in August called "Paper Heart." Her character in "Paper Heart" interviews people on the street, and as I will be doing my fair share of interviewing over the next few days, she had a few tips to share about what it takes to have a good interview.

Tip number one: always complement the interviewee. Charlyne demonstrated with a few canine companions and then moved on to tip number two. Read more...
