Buffy the Vampire SlayerWith vampire boyfriends on everyone's wish list, it's not surprising that Hollywood looks to reviving one of its legendary slayers. Not that we would mind of course, as who doesn'twant Buffy to return and save us from the undead? The real question is: does anyone want Buffy without her creator, Joss Whedon?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are plans to bring Buffy back to the big screen without Whedon's participation. Instead, it will be a relaunch handled by the director of the 1992 film, Fran Rubel Kuzui, and her husband Kaz Kuzui, along with
Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment. It would have no connection to Whedon's legendary television series, or to its comic book continuation, but would instead "reboot" the story from the very beginning in order to not upset the series' diehard fans. Read More...

Regardless of what star Russell Brand says in the clip below, the "Greek" referenced in the "Get Him to the Greek" title actually refers to the name of a theater where Brand's maniac rock star Aldous Snow is supposed to perform. Co-star Jonah Hill plays an intern hired by the record label to ensure that Snow makes the gig on time. Hilarity almost certainly ensues.

Brand was kind enough to host an MTV visit to the set of "Get Him to the Greek," as the clips below show. There's minimal footage, but scenes of the shoot are supplemented by Brand's walking tour of the set and the people inhabiting it. In addition to Brand, you'll be able to spot Hill, P. Diddy, Colm Meaney and MTV's own Josh Horowitz, whose engagement plans with Brand are slowly coming together.

Tune into MTV later this afternoon to catch "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" and "Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," the cappers in our weekend-long "Star Wars Saga" marathon.

I'm not terribly concerned about the mixed reception coming out of Cannes for Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds." At his worst, the director still puts out some of the most imaginative, well-written material available, especially if you happen to be a cinephile.

The first in this trio of "Inglourious" vids from this evening's episode of "Behind the Screen" is an exclusive clip in which Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) unsuccessfully questions a captured Nazi on troop positions. Once it's clear that the prisoner won't be talking, Raine turns to his heavy: an angry, baseball bat-wielding Jew named Donnie Donowitz (Eli Roth) who has a couple of bones to pick with the Third Reich. Keep watching after the clip for a pair of Roth interviews, one on the origin of Donnie's bat and the other on a problematic fire scene.

Even though "Land of the Lost," starring Will Ferrell, Anna Friel and Danny McBride, doesn't hit theaters until next Friday, you can take a peek at it right now. The clip premiered earlier this evening on MTV's latest episode of "Behind the Screen," and we're recapping the show's high points for you, dear readers, here on MTV Movies Blog.

In the below clip, Chaka (Jorma Taccone) tries desperately to warn his new friends Rick (Ferrell), Will (McBride) and Holly (Friel) that they're about to step in it. By "it," I mean a Sleestak welcoming committee. Personally, I'm with Will. Chorizo tacos sound mighty good right now.

In case you couldn't catch all of the delightful exclusives and premieres on this evening's episode of MTV's "Behind the Screen," Movies Blog has got you covered. Kicking off our recap is an exclusive clip from Rob Zombie's "Halloween" remake/reboot follow-up "H2." There are also a number of interviews from our April set as well as the first theatrical trailer.

The new clip hits all of the key points: dark and stormy night, terrified victim, Michael Meyers, a chopping axe. No tricks here; just one, big treat for fans of Zombie's take on "Halloween."

The "Star Wars" crawl had neither a narrator nor a bleeped out cuss word, but this "Behind the Screen" promo sure does. You'll be able to catch both this weekend on MTV. And while everyone knows "Star Wars," you may not be as aware of what's coming up on "Behind the Screen," which airs after "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" this Sunday at 11pm.

We've been peppering the blog all week with little tastes of what's to come on "Behind the Screen," but here's another rundown. You'll be able to catch "Land of the Lost" cast interviews with Will Ferrell, Danny McBridge and their menagerie of wild (and wildly dangerous) animals. You'll also see the broadcast premiere of Sacha Baron Cohen's "Brüno" trailer, exclusive new footage from Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" and Rob Zombie's "Halloween" follow-up, "H2," and a visit with Russell Brand on the set of "Get Him to the Greek." All in all, this is shaping up to be an epic MTV weekend, especially with the summer sun starting to flare up. "Star Wars," insider Hollywood talk on "Behind the Screen" and air conditioning. Perfect.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in 'New Moon'That's right. First there was the poster. Now there are actual PHOTOS. Can you handle it? They're exclusive to Entertainment Weekly, so we're not going to steal their thunder and post the full-size images here. That wouldn't be right. But I will advise you "Twilight"-ers of the existence of said photos. Do what you will with that information. I simply encourage you to click it back here for discussion.

Does anything jump out at you as particularly inspiring in these images? Anything that feels wrong or out of place?

'Terminator Salvation'"Terminator Salvation" has been one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer season, and also one of the most heavily discussed and marketed. Every poster, casting bite and image made the Internet rounds, and McG's directorial ability has been hotly debated since he joined the project in 2007. After Comic-Con and endless other roadshows selling the high points of the movie, "Terminator" fans felt confident that they were in for an awesome summer blockbuster .

Opening night told a slightly different story. "Salvation" officially opened to thousands of Wednesday midnight screenings and only brought in $3 million. It isn't a bad number, and it could easily be explained by a lot of moviegoers who didn't know about its Wednesday night screenings, or who couldn't attend due to pre-holiday schedules, but it's not the record breaker Warner Bros was hoping for. It falls a million or so shy of the $4 million "Star Trek" did on its midnight showings two weeks ago. According to Box Office Mojo, "Star Trek" also did roughly $3.1 million on Wednesday, a day prior to the midnight showings of "Salvation." Read More...

That headline is the truth. I really do miss the crap out of MTV's "The State." It introduced me to a number of wonderful things, including the joys of sketch comedy and the hilarity of one Tom Lennon. Don't ask me who Tom Lennon is. Just watch this clip from the always excellent funnyordie. Then cast your MTV Movie Awards vote for Lennon and Paul Rudd in the Best Kiss category. Do it now, or Lennon will punch you in the... uhhhh... well let's just say it'll hurt.

And hey! "The State" is FINALLY coming out on DVD on July 14! If you're old enough to remember it, you'll be buying this simply because you know you have to. And if you're not old enough, give it a try. You will enjoy. Or Tom Lennon will do... something. Something bad. To you and your friends. And your dog.
